Does anyone have an experience with Dr. Regan Thomas in Chicago?  I have seen him twice already and find him very conservative surgeon and very nice.  However I was unable to see any pictures of his prior patients and I have a hard time finding any of his patients. Can someone help me?  Either point me to the right place where I can find pictures of his prior revisions/primaries and/or let me know your experience with him.  I really did like him but I cannot go into a revision without having seen some of his patients pictures.  His website only has few profile pictures but no front views. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there! Did either one of you end up using Dr Regan or Moynihan? I need a revision, but after my last experience I am scared to death. Even after all my research, I still don't know where to go. Thanks so much for your input!

Hi there, no I didn't use Regan or Moynihan. Are you from Chicago? Dr. Regan is very picky about his revisions. He doesn't take many anymore and only takes the once that don't require rib or reconstruction. Although he said he would accept me I decided to not go with him for several reasons. However I found him very nice, very helpful, and genuine surgeon. I also consulted with Moynihan and even had a surgery scheduled with him twice and both times cancelled for reasons I don't want to explain here on this board. What do you need done?

Thanks so much! I have some cartilage bumps on the tip of my nose and it doesn't look right. I tried filler and I just want it fixed at this point. I haven't done fillers in 2 years and now I am ready to just get this fixed. I live in the Chicago area, but I am willing to travel anywhere to ensure I get a good surgeon. Did you end up going through with the surgery? If so, who did you use? Thanks so much for your input

Hey FB2013, not sure if you still need info on Dr. Regan Thomas but he did my nose back in the summer of 2007 when I was just 17 years old. He is a great surgeon and I researched him very well before making my decision to go with him. I needed to have extensive work done because I broke my nose several times. He was able to remove the hump from my nose, correct my septum, I don't look so ethnic now, and I feel so much better about myself. If you would like to see my before and after pictures to see how well he did please feel free to message me (I don't want everyone to see how ugly my nose was before LOL) :-)

Dr. Regan Thomas did my septo/rhinoplasty surgery back in 2007. I would definitely recommend him as a surgeon if you are looking for a more natural look to your nose. I did not want a nose job where people could tell right away I had one. To put it bluntly, he doesn't do "Michael Jackson" noses. Surgery went extremely well. I had absolutely no bruising of the face. I only had a swollen face for about 3 days. After a week, you wouldn't be able to tell I had surgery if it weren't for the bandage I had to wear. My nose looks fantastic from a side profile HOWEVER I still have issue with how it looks from a front view. I wouldn't necessarily attribute this to his work as much as I would to my nose still growing. The first year, it looked great but after year two, it started to settle and looks a bit longer and larger than the first year after the surgery.

You're smart to want to see photos. In fact, I wouldn't go to a surgeon who couldn't show me a LOT of post-op photos. His profile page on RealSelf is here, but he hasn't been active on the site. Good luck and don't be afraid to go on more consultations until you find a doctor you're extremely comfortable with.

Thank you Angie! I have gone to at least 6 consultations with different surgeons including my own. I have seen my own 3 times regarding my revision but I am not 100% on it yet. He seems very willing to help and his surgical approach is similar to most doctors I spoke to. Dr. Regan Thomas has taught many good surgeons and I hear very good things about him but I just cannot go blindly into a surgery without seeing his work. I think he is kind of an old school but if he is presenting pictures of his patients at seminars that he speaks and teaches he should be able to show me some as well. They told me to look at the website but it has just profiles and no front views and no revision patients. I don't understand why I cannot see some of the pictures. I might call his assistant and ask to see something.

What other doctors did you have consultations with? What are your thoughts of them?

I have consulted with many drs in Chicago and even in other states. I have seen Dr Richard Davis in FL and Dr Grigoryants in CA. I am seeing another one in another state. If I cannot settle on any of these drs I will consult with more. Dr Davis was great but wanted to do too much to my nose. Dr G was very conservative and I liked him but I have not been able to find revision patients with ear graft so until I can find one I cannot settle on him. I really liked Dr Regan Thomas but I must see since b/a pics. I spoke to his assistant and seeing him again this month with follow up questions and possibly some pics. We will see I am being very picky this time around.

I was thinking about going to Dr Moynihan but the idea of a revision scares the hell out of me, but I know I will not be happy until I have one....what is he like?

Moynihan? He was pretty honest and spent a great deal of time with me explaining in detail what he was going to do in my revision. I did like him but decided to go with someone else. I would definitely consult with him. As long as you like his aesthetics than I am sure he will do good.
