As any one gone to Dr Leonard Gray in San Francisco ?

By Yusu on 09 Jun 2012

Had my surgery in December of 2003 when I was 36 and now I'm 45 and I've wanted them out for some time now. I went to blackhawk surgery center in Danville and they quoted me close to 4,000.00 for removal and over 6,000.00 for that and a lift. Then he said he could put in fat deposits for over 10,000.00 for all 3 procedures.  Any thoughts?  I am in debt and can't aford it as of now but I know I'm removing them in the near future. I am a single mom.  I regret getting them as I have small shoulders and frame.   I can't wait! I'm hopeing if I get out of debt and improve credit I can get care credit to help pay for it.  I was a 34B and now im a 32DDD. Has anyone had surgery with Leonard Gray? He is the one who did my surgery.  Thanks  yusu:-)

Yusu... My friends were not supportive either when I told them.. It's sad people act like that but I say do what makes you feel good and makes you happy..
I have had two procedures done with Dr Gray and I cannot say enough about how happy I have been.. I first had a binelli lift with implants and it was a huge success and no scars. It was such a breeze and virtually painless .. I previously had a tummy tuck with a dr in Nashville TN and the results turned out awful.. Since Dr Gray did such an amazing job on my BA I consulted for a TT Revision. I had it done about 5 weeks ago and it was painful at first but the recovery was much faster than my previous and the results are just so AMAZING.. I wish I had gone to him first.. I have many people ask me where I had my boobs done. I ended up a 34DD but I actually wish they were bigger haha.. He lets you try them on so you know what your getting into.. I say don't worry and spend the extra money because Dr Gray is the best surgeon I have ever met..!!!
I am very happy with the procedure. Had this done recently. However, follow up care is lacking.
I had him to do my BA in 2008. He did a good job, but they were bigger in than what I wanted. It seems like that's kind of what he often does. I went from 32A to 34D when I wanted a small C. I had a high profile "gummy bear" silicon set put in. They still feel pretty nice. Most people don't even know unless they are familiar with the giveaways of enhancement.
I know its been almost a year since your inquiry. I hope you were able to get the result that makes you feel your best.
Hi thanks for your reply! I am well and I have my own profile on removing implants with pictures. I am having my surgery on Wednesday to remove with no lift. Dr Grey recomends waiting on a lift. He was very supportive. I'm not getting a lot of support on my removal from a few friends, but that's ok. I am still in debt but pay my bills, pay less in rent and paid for surgery with tax return, and I have money in my savings so I feel good about my decision. I'm ok if I have to go back next year for a lift but hope I won't need one. Yes, I was surprised he was supportive at first the last guy I saw was not. I did tell him I wish I had not ever got them and a small portion wished I had gone smaller. I'm hopeing and praying for a good result. Thank you.
I do agree he is a good surgeon! He had his own laser lift he invented with no scars. Yes, I would of liked a small C myself. Oh well :-( Looking forward to having my old breasts back. Hopefully my nips go back to there old sensitivity again.
hospital fees shouldn't be an issue he does it in his office
a few women i know had their breasts augmented by dr gray & all of them gave two thumbs up; however, i had few hick ups. what i had done was saline augmentation. the incisions were invisible hidden within the areola. one of the implants deflated within 6 months post op. dr. gray replaced it & waived his fee but i still had to pay out of pocket for the hospital out patient fee, anesthesia, & other fess which was a bummer. a few months after replacement, capsular contracture developed. the side that never deflated is still perfect.
my thoughts: keep this in mind that dr gray is well known & a top surgeon on breast augmentation with many yrs of experience but he is only human as error rate and defective implant are inevitable at times. any surgery will involve risk. i agree with angiemcc that it may be better to return to the same surgeon to have them removed. not sure if he will give you a break on fee but you can try. let me know if there are other questions i can answer for you. good luck!
Hi
No, just wanted to find out your experience with your surgery and how he did the procedure. Also if you were happy? Just wanted to feel some connection with someone who went to him. I'm thinking of having him do it as Im hopeing he will give me a break on price.
had surgery done by leonard gray. is this your only question?

Welcome to RealSelf and thank you for your post! I hope some ladies who've been to Dr. Gray chime in for you. It'd be great to be able to go the same surgeon that placed your implants since you're familiar with him and vice versa. Dr. Gray does have a profile on RealSelf here.

Good luck and I hope you can pull out of debt soon and get this done!

Hi there Ii made an appt with Dr Grey for Nov 6th. I can't wait to hear what he has to say! I have a girl friend going with me.
Do you suggest going to the Dr. that did the implant surgery? I've moved and I wasn't looking forward to a three hr drive to have the explant. And I don't know how comfortable I really am with him, but I don't know why.
