I went to Dr Tobias for rhinoplasty in September 2013 and really couldn't be happier with the results. I broke my nose years ago and it always bothered me that I never fixed it. Dr Tobias gave me a natural looking nose that fits my face and I can breathe a lot better now. He's also done a few of my friends (which is how I heard of him) and they all look amazing. I highly recommend him!

I scheduled a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Tobias last week after two botched nose jobs with an unskilled surgeon from the 90s. My splint was removed yesterday and while there is still a significant amount of swelling (as to be expected), I cannot be happier with the results. Dr. Tobias is one of the top surgeons in his field and truly an artist. He performed an extremely complicated case (fixed my tip, pinching, nostrils, and took a bit off the bulbous area below the bridge) all using a closed procedure so there are no incisions visible on the outside. He did all of this while maintaining my ethnic features (I'm indian) -- looks like my face and nose just much, much better and aesthetically pleasing! I am eagerly awaiting to see how the nose continues to improve over time but as of now, i'm extremely happy and thankful that I chose to go with Dr. Tobias. He doesn't seem to spend much on marketing himself and is reasonably priced...so for the level of skill and artistry he has...definitely a great bargain in my opinion. I'm not one to write reviews online but felt compelled given my amazing experience with Dr. Tobias. PS - My good friend also went with him a few weeks ago and she is ecstatic about her results as well. Hope this helps!

I had surgery with Tobias twice, in may 2005, and then again in sept 2006. I developed "scar tissue" left side supposedly and my nose was dripping like a faucet literally. I also had a dent left in my nose after his surgery. And swelling in my tip..so many years later is still there that he promised would go down. My tip is droopy and looks like polybeak deformity. Few of my friends went to him after me and none were happy either.

Do you have pics? Does your nose look bigger than it was before the surgery?

I haven't had surgery with him yet, but I heard and read wonder about him.

Actually, I read mixed reviews about Dr. Tobias. Good and bad ones. Some reviews seemed to be fake, though. I went to his website, to pics are somehow dated, but he has been around for quite so long doing only noses, which is a good thing.

See my review i am very unhappy with my results also, nose is still wide, bulbous tip is uneven and two dents on sides of nostrils. i was thinking of one day going back and asking for a revision for the cost aspect, but i realize if never let him touch my nose again. even the recent positive review of him with photos..no offense to the woman (shes attractive) but youcan see he creates a flared nostril even on her, which is NOT an attractive feminine look for a nose!

Did this review just get taken down?

Yes, it did. It's really weird to say the least.

Yeah I thought he was supposed to be a good dr so why bother with fake reviews if you're good?

I don't know whether his a good doctor or not. But the reviews are somehow fishy.

Hi there,

This isn't a review, but a forum post meant to assist folks getting rhinoplasty in the NYC area. You're meant to leave comments and discuss within this post, as many are doing. Please let me know if you still have questions.

I had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty with Tobias three years ago. I am pleased with the results. While my nose is by no means perfect, it fits my face. The things that bothered me about it were corrected. I thought that Dr. Tobias was always very honest about what to expect--that many people are disappointed because they have unrealistic ideas about what rhinoplasty can achieve.

After reading these reviews, I took Dr Tobias off the table, I consult with 2 rhino experts in Mass (Bentkover and Fechner and Dr Rizk in NYC.

Yeah I honestly wonder where these "reputations" come from!

you were smart to do that. how did your consults go?

I got rhinoplasty back in 2005 by Dr Tobias. I went to him because he pitched the fact that he doesn't do"ski slope noses" and that he makes the nose to fit the face. I was comfortable with the consultation and the fact that he was rated one of the best doctors. Today i wish i never got the surgery with Dr Tobias. My nose gradually got worse. The septum is still deviated. My nose curves to the left. Last year I went for a post op consultation to point it out to him. He gave a little attitude and said it was do to "lighting" and my makeup and he put silicon fillers in and said that it should help.. It didn't. It should be done correctly the first time. I went to another Doctor who clearly pointed oout that my nose was very unsymmetrical ! I'm going in again to see that he fixes his errors and what he would charge me. I would not recommend Dr. Tobias for rhinoplasty and don't understand after reading so many bad experiences how he was rated so high.

i am so sorry for you . i had him years ago and it was terrible. i need major reconstructive surgery and this was told to me by a true leading expert up in new hanpshire. i have posted other comments about him , but i guess my anger was so obvious that they weren't allowed on this site. they were deleted. he probably had something to do with that also!!!!!! he knows how to promote himself and he uses other doctors to promote him also. he had done a few celebrities wives and such and milks this for all he can, plus his affiliation with a majr leading facility, makes it appear that he is better than he is. it really is, all in who you know and how you play the game to advance yourself. they ALL claim that they are artists in that field anyway.
p. surgery has become so promoted, and everyone wants to look as good as they can in this competitive world. we all get sucked into this while making them millionaires and they laugh all the way to the bank. and i bet they have a lot of jokes at the expense of their patients also. i think that there are a few plastic surgeons out there that have real character and integrity, but he is not one of them. he is a sociopath. don't go back to him if you can help it. the heartbreak goes on................................doesn't it? wishing you the best.

Wow. I believe it. I never addressed my breathing but it is DEFINATLEY altered on my left side and I've become a snorer when I wasn't before. Hopefully these blogs will come up in a Google search and people will think twice. I am sure 5 out of ten people woud not be happy with a nose job even if the surgeon was good..however the fact that I and others are still taking the time to blog about our experiences years later (4 in my case) should speak volumes. Unless you have a simple bump on your nose GO ELSEWHERE!!!

me again. it is true. you trust these physicians WITH YOUR LIFE, they put you out with a drug, you lay on a table, COMPLETELY DEFENSELESS!!! the doc is supposed to be in your corner!!! and they can do what they want pretty much. i never had sleep apnea either until he got a hold of me. it is clinically 'moderately severe'. cpap machine didn't work well for me. i remember the days, i call, instead of 'b.c.', 'B.T.', when to get away from the cares of the day, i would snuggle in the security of my cozy bed. ay yes, quiet, blissfull, slumberland. sometimes i would sleep so well, i would wake up 8 hours later in the same position, from sleeping like a rock, uninterupted. those days are gone!!!i now wake up, more exhausted, then the night before. like they say, with sleep apnea, everytime your snore or snort, wakes you up, it is just like being in a rear end collision in a vehicle. and it can be dozens and dozens of times a night!!!!! it takes YEARS off your life!!!HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Like I said, maybe it depends on the type of nose you have. I, along w/ granny fanny amd totallu UNHAPPY w/ my results. I have more of an ethnic nose..it was long and w/ a fat tip. Now its still long with a fat tip, only he inserted 2 cabbage patch like dents which in certain light may give the illusion that it is smaller but its NOT. Yes, it doesn't look like a fake nose from the 90s BUT it does make my entire face less attractive and while a teeeny bit shorter than before..the dents make my nose stand out more. Who wants to pay almost 9000 and have such a minimal difference?? If all you need is a bump removed, a revision on a horrific primary, or something minor he will be fine. But for something more skilled do you HW!! I wish I had. Just because a dosctor has a great website and has been quoted in magazines and on TV does NOT mean they are the best choice for your nose. His website images are photoshopped and the images he shows you in his office are super dated. Trust me stay away from TOBIAS!!!

hi I am Asian and I am going to have surgery with him in two week's time, after reading your comment, I am really really nervous now , could you please tell me if your nose feels like larger after that surgery and how do you know that her website images are photoshopped ? ( this is pretty serious accusation for the intergrity of a doctor .) really appreciate your help.

I cannot say for sure the photos are photoshopped, but the women in the after shot (the black woman and 2 others) obviously had professionally done makeup and appear to have been edited. I am sure he has done an amazing job with others..all I can do is share my personal experience and my nose is STILL long wide and huge and he slightly adjusted the look of my nose, by placing to dent like 'things' that really alter the look of my entire face. Did he botch me ? No. Does it look natural? Yes. My own MOTHER did not notice a difference and 2 of my friends (who had work done elswhere) suggested I should sue him..because it looks almost the same. This is something I wanted done for such a long time and every day I look in the mirror I am so sorry I chose him. If I could figure out how 2 post a pik of my nose here I would (I'm on my blackberry) if you have an email I can send an image to you and you can see for yourself. I chose not to sue or even go back to that office..the thought of it makes me sick..eventually perhaps I will go again..I expressed my extreme unhappiness during my follow up and was assured it wouldn't fully heal for 2-3 years.well its been 3 And I still hate my nose. Visually if Dr T took out a ruler, he could argue that he did make SUPER SLIGHT changes in the protusion and maybe size of the nostrils. But the fact that's its still LONG, FAT, WIDE and unattractive and now FLARES because f the dents he put in..gosh.. This is upsetting me. Surely I sound like I'm ranting..and if you have minor changes that need to be made maybe you will be fine. Smart of you to do your research prior..wish I had. I want a secondary w/ Dr. Davis in Florida..I am told he fixes a lot of Dr. Ts. Nose's. (Haven't met, spoken or even emailed him yet..so NO I ma not affiliated) I read @ him on a nother blog that I found after my rhino..I cannot recall the name of it but if u google rhinoplasty forums you may locate it..it was not the makemeheal one.
Good Luck and trust your gut.
