So after an awful revision that left my nose scooped, small and shortened tip, I am ready for a revision asap. I have done extensive research and have gone on multiple consultations. I will need rib graft to heighten my bridge as well as spreader grafts and work on my tip. Out of all surgeons, I love Dr. Frankel and Dr. Davis, any suggestions on who to choose? I am really torn. They are both great. Please tell me your experiences and stories. I will be book surgery soon and want the best surgeon.

Hi DarkKnight25, please consider posting a review. You've mentioned 3 top doctors and I'm sure it would make an excellent review that could help others. Photos (with eyes blacked out if you prefer) would be great and I'm sure many of us, including your surgeon, would appreciate it! Glad it all worked out for you. thank you!

You didn't do enough research if you are considering both especially Dr. D. Dig deeper or you will end up needing another surgery.

Fb2013 - I find it very curious that you keep posting negative comments about dr Davis when you haven't had surgery with him. I question why?

Negative? No. Educational? Yes. I consider myself fortunate to see through his sales talk. That's all I am going to say.

Can you point us to your source of information? I am considering this doctor for a revision. Thx

oops sorry to post twice! I didn't think it worked

Hello! I have heard that Dr. Davis has a very warm, approachable, and caring personality. He seems to be known for that. I would want to find out how each will handle any potential problems down the road. What would you have to pay should they have to revise or modify anything? Would the fix it as thoroughly as a new patient or just try to do a quick "touch up"? Find all of this out before surgery.

I have heard that Dr. Davis is very warm and approachable. I have heard some people say they had great experiences with both but Dr. Davis seems known for his caring and authentic attitude. I would want to know how both would handle any potential problems or issues down the road? What would you have to pay? Would they do whatever it takes to fix it or offer a short-term solution? Hi how did your consult with Davis go? Did you see examples of rib revisions by him? I'm considering him too for a revision

I am also considering both Doctors for a revision. I have already had a phone consult with Dr. Frankel and have an in person with him in 3 weeks. I have yet to contact Dr. Davis. Have you made a decision or found any more helpful info on either Dr. Davis or Dr. Frankel?

I too am interested in Davis and had an interest in Frankel. What made you narrow your choice to these two? It's probably best to choose who you think is most experienced of the two with rib, as I've heard rib can be very complicated, especially in the wrong hands. I assume they've both showed you their cases. Take your time to think about it, best to be safe than sorry, I speak from experience! Perhaps consult with both again if you're that torn. Really sorry about your experience and I hope the decision you make is the one that gives you the nose you desire! :) Irrelevant, but how long did it take to book a consult with Davis? I'm hoping to call this week and a day in October would be ideal for me, especially since I'm from Canada, but I realize this might not be realistic if he's very busy. Thanks in advance.

I narrowed my choices to both of these doctors because they are the best in the world in Rhinoplasty. They have the best consistent results, great before and afters and best in my mind. Both doctors are talking about positively on makemeheal and real self. I consulted with Frankel and felt 100% confident in his ability. I am consulting with Davis in October. Davis is only seeing patients mid november, he is extremely busy so I would schedule a consult with him asap. After I meet with Davis I will make my decision, but just wanted to know everyone`s experience with either of these doctors. Yes, rib surgery is scary, but I am in great hands with either of these two doctors, I am just trying to see who can do the best job in my particular case with rib.

Dr. Frankel in Beverly Hills and Dr. Davis in Miami

I have chose Dr. Frankel. I think Dr. Frankel is the best revision specialist in the U.S. and felt a "gut" feeling that he is the right doctor. I am excited for surgery.

I don't want to pry but what was Dr Frankels quote price for surgery. I'm thinking about him for surgery but if he is too expensive I will just have to reconsider. Thanks

did you do your surgery yet ? Ineed a doctor and wanted to know if the rib graft was painful OMG I am terrified I will need to be out completely I guess for this

Frankels quote for my particular case from between $15-$18k. I do think he is NOT out for money, he really does care about the patients, other doctors were asking over $20+ which I thought was ridiculous. Another amazing doctor for revisions (not rib) which i highly recommend is Dr. Grigoryants.

Hey guys, Just wanted to give an update. I am now 11 months post op. My story, I had my primary three years ago which I loved, my nose came out straight as an arrow, prominent which I wanted, and looked natural. Fast forward three years, and my nose was fractured in an accident, I waited three months and had a revision by the same doctor. Immediately post-op I was terrified, my nose was no longer prominent, looked scooped and I became depressed. For seven months I hated my nose and researched constantly for another revision doctor to build up my nose. People I met with for rib revision to augment my nose. Dr. Nassif, Calvert, Solimon and Litner and Frankel. I also wanted to meet with, but did not with Davis in Miami. I felt best with Frankel, he charged the least and I felt his method was the best. Nassif wanted to use diced cartilage wrapped in fascia as an onlay graft, Calvert wanted to do the same as Nassif, Soliman and Litner wanted to do the same as Frankel but they only use cadaver rib, Frankel wanted to use my rib and NOT do an onlay graft. I felt Frankel charged the least, had the best method and felt most comfortable with person. I was ready to book surgery but my nose started looking great on its own at around 8 months, now at 11 months post-op It looks better then before and i do not want to touch it at all. Dr. Grigoryants did both my primary and revision. So for anyone considering revisions, if you do not need rib, go with Grigoryants, he charges so little for his amazing talents and is one of the most talented surgeons in the world. Really, there is no bad press about him on yelp, makemeheal.com, lookyourbestuk.com nothing. If you are looking for rib, i would recommend an in person consult with Frankel and Davis. Ask the tough questions, do research before hand and go with your gut. Do not worry about the money, you want the best person for the job, its better to pay more the 1st time, then go through the revision roller coaster. Rib should really be the last resort, im sure you have all heard it before, septal cartilage is the best, do NOT use foreign implants, ear cartilage is NOT good for adding bridge height, rib can be great if used properly in the right hands. If you have any other questions, please message me. I was lucky to get out of "hell" which I know everyone feels like they are in "hell" when our surgeries go bad, because let`s face it, our nose is in the middle of our faces and has the power to change our appearance, dictate our behavior and inspire our personalities. Now that I am "free" again, I wanted to come back to these message boards and help out as many people as I can. So many people become "free" and disappear never to be seen again. I think if you in the future become "free" you now have a responsibility to stay on the message boards and help out those new people who are going through what you went through. Be safe, do extensive research and know that time heals all.

Also only Grigoryants has no bad press. As for Frankel and Davis, they both have bad press, so talk to past patients, do extensive research and go with your gut.

Frankel and Davis both have good press, but also bad. I don`t necessarily think any surgeon who has worked for an a long-time will have no bad press anyways, they are bound to have miscommunication with patients. Bad press came come from unrealistic expectations from patients or surgeon error. So who is to say what is true, do your individual research. But I stand by Grigoryants, Frankel and Davis from all the research I did, and If I did need rib in the future, I would consult with Frankel or Davis. Just keep the good and bad reviews when choosing a surgeon. Make a sound decision always.
