I am considering both procedures rhinoplasty and otoplasty and was wondering if anybody has had a consult or any procedure done with any of these two doctors? IT would really help? Also, any recomendations! Thank you!

I am thinking if going to Dr. Shah for a fourth rhinoplasty. I am trying to decide between Dr. Shah, Frankel or Guyuron. If anyone has any experience with this doctor I would love to hear about it, please feel free to pm me too.

I had my Second Rhinoplasty (Revision Rhinoplasty) from him and I am not satisfied, he didn't listen to me, one of the major issues I had was over projection of my left tip because of which I have confidence and concentration issues, i addressed him that before my surgery but he was not able to solve that, I would not recommend him to you for revision.

Just before the surgery he changed his words and I was stunned.

Since it is your revision, he is not good for revisions, I will get another rhinoplasty next year from a much experienced and well known doctor, you can see my profile, if you have any questions you can always send me

Considering V1 & vee_2323 say they are happy with their experience, I do nt think it will be a problem to post their pictures here (you could cover your eyes for anonymity)...

In 2010 Dr Anil Shah was a member of the 'Medical Justice'. It is an organisation of attorneys who protect doctors' reputation online. They were even caught posting positive reviews themselves.

I had rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction with Dr. Shah in April 2011.

Dr. Shah has always listened very closely to my concerns. I have never felt rushed or disrespected.

Whatever he did for my breathing is amazing. Before surgery, I could not breath through my nose more than 15% of the time. Now I can breath through my nose close to 100% of the time. I feel like a totally different person.

My physical recovery in terms of swelling have been slow. I have had a few triamicinolone injections in the tip which have helped a lot, but the swelling persists. The swelling around the bridge is mostly resolved. I do NOT believe the slowness of recovery reflects Dr. Shah, but rather my own body's healing process.

Recently, the bridge and side of my nose had callouses (or something like this) that required in-office rasping. The cast will be removed next week, but I was not prepared for the amount of swelling in my face and nose. One of my eyes is still swollen shut and the tip and sides of my nose are swollen again. I expected some swelling, but not like this. I will post updates as I recover.

Again, I do not believe my body's responses to this type of procedure are a reflection of Dr. Shah's skills, just my body. But, I would be lying if I wasn't a little bit anxious about my recovery this time.

The kenalog injections and in-office procedures have not been any additional cost to me. Dr. Shah knew when I first came to his office that I did not (and do not) have health insurance and has been very professional to keep treating my case as he does.

I also had Radiesse under the eyes, over the cheekbones, and in the laugh lines injected in January. Everything looks very natural and am pleased with the results.

Just to summarize, I recommend Dr. Shah. I trust him. I will continue to post updates about my progress.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Shah.
i am only 3 weeks post op and i am already very happy with his work. of course, i am no where near the final result, its only been three weeks like i said, but SO FAR i had a great experience. and the bruises under my eyes have actually been a bigger bother than my nose, and those are already gone.
i had septoplasty and rhinoplasty work done. thought, for now im not perfect...(and im not supposed to be yet) but even at this point my breathing is a lot better than before surgery. aaaand tho im still officially "swolen" ...i dont really notice it. i been goin out, no one notices anything, and a few people have complimented me on my "natural beauty" lol.....a lil more expensive than "natural" but ill take it ;]
i have ONE concern however, my nose is a liiiiiitle croocked to the left, but its something only i seem to notice. it does bother me a bit, BUT 1)im 3 weeks post op so its most likely uneven swelling 2) there is assymetry in eeeeevery face it may be just since im swolen i notice it.
however, like i said, its very minor and something only i notice, and ive went out all over and i feel totally comfortable.
I LOVE my profile and the work he did on the tip!

i neeeever post reviews, but i remember researching before surgery and on the internet, there are tooooo many horror stories. well, u can find a horror stories about anything on the internet so i wanted to share my GREAT EXPERIENCE so hopefully u ppl will b less freaked out

dr. shah is very attentive, patient, did EXACTLY what i asked no "improvisation", he is very nice friendly.

his age did worry me a lil when i first met him.....hes real young ....but proved to be a PROFESSIONAL.
after watchin my process my mom is actually thinkin bout a nose job too (with dr shah of course) and ive recommended him to a few friends already.

good luck, stop worrying!
"hes so young how many has he done?" well, he "practiced" on me and def did a great job lol

Melinda and americanwoman with your experiences do you recommend dr.shah? Or advise in looking for another dr for a primary rhino.

For a primary, I think Shah would do a good job. My situation is more complicated and I am not so happy with the outcome. In my situation, he didn't hear what i said. The more my nose heals, the worse it looks. He was very receptive to my concerns but I have my moments of hesitation and wonder if he understands me. I am waiting for him to fix this and am not convinced that he can. I know I can't take anymore f**ups before I begin to feel suicidal. So glad that vlasta is soooo haaaaapy with her nose. Wiiiiiish I was. My advice to you is this: Make certain that he hears you. I hate skinny noses and made it clear, but he didn't hear me. I've spent a lot of time crying about it. Since this is your first rhinoplasty, make certain that it will be your last. Don't end up in the vortex of rhinoplasty hell. If I had my original nose and he had done my primary, I feel certain that it would have looked great. Just please be sure he hears you. I cannot emphasize this enough. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I have since found out that my primary rhino w Shah has also resulted in a septal perforation ( rare - occurs in less than 1%of cases), and nasal valve collapse. So it looks like my revision just got a alot more complicated. :(...

I like the tip of my nose ok but the bridge is too thin, something that I specifically went out of my way to clarify to Dr. Shah that I did NOT want. I like Dr. Shah but am distressed that my nose has turned out to be thin on the left side which gives the illusion that it is crooked plus I don't like a thin bridge on my nose. It has been 5 months and I am waiting to see him again in a month or so. He said something to me about injecting fat???? to remedy this. I don't know but this alarms me as a sloppy fix. I hope I am wrong. When you had a semi revision in his office, did he give you anything for the pain or to at least, dull your senses before proceding? I have been pretty upset that this has happened because I believe it was an unnecessary thing to have happened. Could you let me know what your experience was like?? I don't want to go into his office and have him do some johnny on the spot fix that doesn't really fix anything or maybe even adds a new issue. I just want to be happy with my stupid nose. I really like dr. Shah alot and believe he is talented, but feel let down somehow by all of this. I would appreciate any insight you could give me. thanks.

Hello. I was thinking of getting rhino w Shah. Can you send me a couple pics so I can see? I would b so greatful. Any other Dr. you think is better? Thank you!

I was a pt of shah's who sought a finesse rhino. While I like the tip of my nose, the bridge is now crooked; which it was not before. I had a semi in office revision in which he broke the nose and reset it. My bridge still curves to the right and is very distressing to me. I did consult with Pielat and like him as well. I didn't have the money for a 3rd surgery at the time and have since moved out of state and now back to searching for the best rhino revisions surgeon in Philly, PA. I am seeing Dr. Heffelfinger at Jefferson hospital... Anyone heard of him?

Hi,

I posted some pictures so please take a look on my profile. And, if you go on his website he has done some reconstruction work on a woman who's had about four botched surgeries prior. Take care and good luck!
