I am 40 years old and I am planning on having CO2 laswer resurfacing done. I realize that I will have down time of at least 5-7 days. I am wondering though will it look noticeable on the 8th day. Will I be able to go to work after 5 days? I'm only hg it done around my eyes and I wonder if I will be able to one day not wear any makeup or will my skin be 2 different colors since I am not having my entire face done. Please help me decide if it is worth it!

I had erbium resurfacing Dec 2nd and my face is still swollen Feb 16th. The lady on the phone said I would be able to return to work in one month. Then after I had the procedure they told me it was normal to be swollen for 6 months! My face is so deformed from the swelling that I don't go out without my sunglasses and only places I need to go. I also have some burn scars. I am hoping that I can find someone to repair these scars.

Hi there, I chose the biggest bang for the buck and wanted a 1 time treatment for serious wrinkles, and no fat left in my face! My Plastic Surgeon used the Ablative (burns all your skin off at once) Yagg laser, and also did extensive Fat Fill to my face. Everything except under my eyes where she went very aggressive, healed great in 3 weeks.. At 1 month I have some "pink" under my eyes, kept 50% of the fat transfer (yeah!), and am THRILLED! PS Had a consult with another doctor who wanted to do fractional laser and use "fillers" (not my own fat), and I would have had to do at least 2 treatmwents of fractional, and MANY of "fillers" to keep the look I got from ONE Ablative laser. Actually my 1 surgery (under general Anthesthia) versus doing several with Sculptra, Juviderm etc... my 1 surgery cost LESS than my previous quote for Fractional. ALL depends on how deep your wrinkles, sun damage, etc.. which one you should use, and how much you are willing to spend, AND go back in to keep up with fillers, lasering etc... Make sure you see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon!

For simple procedures like hair removal, a little redness or bumpiness may persist for a few hours or even a day, but that should not prevent you from going about your daily routine. For laser resurfacing it does depend on the type of treatment. We have a laser called the Aramis (1540 nm) that does non-ablative (no downtime) collagen stimulation. With this type of treatment, the results are less dramatic than full laser resurfacing, but there is also no downtime. For Erbium laser resurfacing (we use the Sciton Profile for this), the downtime is about 5 - 7 days of redness and peeling. We recommend this for many of our acne scar patients and also a good number of those with sun damage and wrinkles. The results are quite dramatic, after three or four resurfacing treatments, but the downside is that the recovery period is at least 5 days.

Pearl rejuvenation: There are usually 5-7 days of red and peeling face, with beautiful skin afterward Titan skin tightening: Skin may be pink for 30-60 minutes post-treatment, otherwise there is no social downtime IPL: Your sun spots may appear darker for 7-14 days but can be easily covered with makeup Laser Genesis: Skin may be pink for 30-60 minutes post-treatment, otherwise there is no social downtime
