Hello everyone, I am new to RealSelf , and planning on having a TT soon, I have some questions that I would like your help with if you can. I am African American, in my 50's, about 5'4' and I have fibromylgia, if anyone out there has had a TT and has fibro, can you let me know how it was for you. Also, I would like to know what I can do to give my body the best chance during recovery. I don't smoke, never have, nor do I drink or use drugs. I would also like to know any tips that you may have on scar care, I see that alot of you use coco-butter for your scar tx, I keloid, and wonder if there is something you can tell me with regards to that. Thank you all for any advise that you may have for me. All of you after pic are beautiful, hopefully I will be joining you soon.

I live alone and don't have any family or friends near so I have to drive myself to and from the hospital, as well as take care of myself...any suggestions?

Thank you nanny938 for your reply, so have you already had your tt? If so, how has it been for you so far?

No, I am having mine on November 5th, and I am so looking forward to it, more so after seeing everyones before and after pics on here. So, you will be recovering before me, and I look forward to hearing about your recovery. Are you renting out a hospital bed, alot of people on here have?

@ nanny938, my tt is on Oct. 10th, and I will keep you posted. Sorry that it has taken me so long to respond, I just had a new grandson, and went to visit. I tried to reply from my phone, but I guess that I did not do it right. I don't plan on getting a hospital bed, my main focus is on trying to get my body in the best shape that I can before the tt, so I have been taking supplements and exercising in hopes that my recovery won't be so bad. Are you planning on renting a bed or doing anything special?

Hi, I may rent a hospital bed for the month, other than that, just the usuall items like Arnica, Bromelaine, ect...I am having soooo many doubts, mostly about spending so much money when I could be giving it to my children to use if they needed it.

forget the kids, unless it's an emergency, we as moms have always did whatever we could for our children, and now that they are adults it's time to do something for ourselves! So what if it's alot of money, It's for you and will make you happy, I say go for it without any guilt. cause there is nothing to feel guilty about.

Hi, I have fibro and also Sjogrens syndrom, which is an autoimmune disease. My rhuemy gave me the ok to have surgery, but each person is different. Did you consult with your doctor? I think it depends on the meds you are taking, if any. Best advice, check with your doctor. My PS said that he thinks my recovery and healing process will probably take longer than others because of the Sjogrens.
