Don't go to a medspa and ask for anything right now. Spend a while finding out who you are and what you want first. Divorce (been there, done that) can be a very demoralizing and unsettling experience, even if you were the initiator. You might be feeling down on yourself for no reason!
It's difficult, without seeing you, to make recommendations. Find a good aesthetician and and try small treatments first (creams and facials). Only if those don't give you the result you are seeking should you graduate to more expensive treatments.

Hi Missy,
How are you? Did you treat yourself to a new hair-do or spa treatment?

Hi Missy,
You are not alone. Oftentimes, the ladies that come to our facility definitely have a "turning point" that generated their visit. Whether its turning 30, 40, getting divorced, noticing "age spots" for the first time, etc....everyone has a story behind that first visit. Start small, visit a practitioner that listens to what your goals are, ask your friends for referrals, and enjoy the experience.

One of the simplest things you can do is grow your hair out a bit (if you've been wearing it super-short...aka "mom style") and get some bangs. Try that before diving into cosmetic procedures to fix forehead lines. And for other tips on "how not to look old", pick up Charla Krupp's book of the same name--she does have some good tips in there.
You can also try GABA-based products or those that have Argireline as an ingredient. They claim to temporarily "freeze" lines. One such product is Freeze 24/7 http://www.realself.com/beauty-product/freeze-247/freeze-247-anti-wrinkle-cream--you can't expect dramatic results, but it does soften things up a bit. Another avenue to try for an instant "lift" are products like Fusion Beauty's Lift Fusion http://www.realself.com/beauty-product/fusion-beauty/liftfusion-face-lift. I've used that as a quick firming pick-me-up before going out. It does tighten skin a bit--but remember it's a temporary fix. Fusion Beauty does make a travel size of this that's usually available at Sephora (great for on-the-go, or just to try). Finally, you can try light-deflecting wrinkles creams like Dremu's Deception and Airbrush products http://www.realself.com/beauty-brand/dremu--these are ones that Oprah's touted. They do soften the look of lines--but don't expect miracles.
The key here is to try some product and hairstyling--simple "fixes" that are effective at masking the things we don't like. Do that and give yourself time before you even consider going under the knife--you might be surprised at what a little OTC lovin' care can do.
