Did your PS give you written instructions?

By Blonde in bluffton on 28 May 2012

For your after care? Incision care, belly button care, drains? What signs to look for if something isn't healing well? When to change dressings, take a shower, how much activity day to day? What to expect basically??

Most surgeons provide written instructions after surgery. The should be very detailed and include information about when to resume a regular diet, a normal activity level, when to bathe, and when to change dressings. Typically, you will return withing 24 hours or so for the surgeon to change your dressings. Is there someone taking care of you after your surgery? Make sure they also receive a copy of your instructions.
