Did anyone have any problems with the stitches coming out?

I had corrective surgery a week and a half ago and am having problems.  I was allergic to the surgical tape, which was awful.  It was taken off after five days.  I am not sure if this is why the stitches came loose but I now have a one inch hole and another place in the same breast coming apart.  They say just put antibiotic creams in it.  Has anyone had this prolem?  I am worried about infection but they say it won't get infected.  All my family is on me about how bad it looks and that it should be closed.  I am doing what the nurse tells me to do.  The doctor has not seen it other than a picture the nurse showed him.  I told my family I am going to do what the nurse said to do for now.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Yeah....I can see where you have some too. I googled it and it says that it can be caused by too much moisture. Mine looks worse in the morning after a shower so maybe that is why it's white like that in the morning.

I had spitting stitches slightly different. Plus I have one spot that has come apart and doesn't want to heal. My PS ended up giving my prisma to use on it. I have only been using it for 4 days now, my "sore" spot is starting to look better. I think I am also having an allergic reaction but to the biodermis silicone gel. I hope your PS can help you to get it to heal.

I am glad that your spot is looking better. One of the places looks better but the other looks about the same. I am putting the antibiotic cream on it and keeping it covered with surgical pads. I saw the doctor last Wednesday and he had to push one of the places to release the fluid in it which caused it to open more, but he said the other place looked good. I didn't realize my stitches were supposed to be dissovable until last week when the nurse said she didn't know why my stitches weren't dissolving. She had to cut two places on the other breast where the stitches were sticking out but she said she didn't want to cut them too close and cause another hole. I just kept wondering when they were going to remove the stitches. I have been using CVS wound cleanser and then applying the cream to the places. Hopefully it won't leave big scars. This was my second surgery to try to correct the first surgery so I don't plan on having another one unless it is absolutely necessary even though I don't see where the left breast is any smaller than it was before the surgery to match the right breast. I am hoping it is swelling and will eventually go down to match the right breast. It sounds like the prisma is the key for your healing. My doctor has only seens me twice since my surgery and the first time was five days after my surgery when I was allergic to the surgical tape and was raw from it. The second time was last week, three weeks after surgery and the first time he saw the open wound other than a picture the nurse took to show him while he was in surgery. He was shocked when I told him I had another place that had come apart too. Thanks for replying and letting me know about your places. It eases my mind to know there are others who have had the same problems. Maybe it is more common than I think it is.

Mine are dissolvable too. Mine don't seem to want to dissolve I cut them as they poke out. My bad spot is a large section of stitch that keeps poking out but still attached some where. Doesn't help that the stitches are barbed to help keep the incision area from splitting.

Do you cut them down to the skin or how far do you cut them down? I have three places right now where they are sticking out. Does yours feel like they are pulling out sometimes when you move? Mine feel like they are ripping out when I move certain ways.

I cut it down as far as I safely can. Those are the spots that hurt the worse. Once the stitch comes all the way out it feels much better. They also caught on clothes when I don't have anything covering them. I am down to just that one stitch where I have the sore spot. I did make a mistake of pulling on it once. It broke the skin open worse and I was in so much pain.

I guess I better just leave mine alone then. I will be glad when they are all out. One more question. On the one wound that is healing but has not closed up, it has gotten white around the edges. I'm not sure if that is good or bad. Has yours done that?
