How Did You Find That Others Reacted to Your Rhinoplasty?

By onihr88 on 24 Sep 2012

I am considering a rhinoplasty but I am concerned with the reactions of others. I don't really want to draw attention to myself, and I know that if I knew someone who got work done I would find myself wanting to check them out and see how it looked. If I go through with this, I do not want to lie about having it done, but I don't exactly want to broadcast it either. For those of you who had it done, how did you deal with seeing people for the first time? Did a lot of people not even notice?

I did the same thing focused on telling family and friends deviated septum and septoplasty , didn't really mention the cosmetic issue much

Most people didn't notice, even though i think it's drastic. Several said I looked great and couldn't figure out why. Two people, I am Pretty sure, know why lol

Just out of curiosity, would you feel offended or happy that someone noticed your change?

That is an interesting question. On one hand, I want to look better so in a way I guess I do want people to notice. I have heard people say that when they had plastic surgery done, other people thought they looked good but couldn't quite pinpoint why. To me, that sounds like an ideal reaction.

Yep that is how they have been reacting! =^D that's my small-nose smiley btw. They really can't figure it out. I don't understand. Are these ppl blind!?!? I almost wish someone would notice and say "wow your nose looks incredible!" Hahah instead I get "have you changed your makeup?"

No, it is solely for aesthetic purposes. I think I will tell my close friends and family. As for everyone else, although I do not plan to broadcast it, I do not think I will deny it if I am asked about it (although I am sure most people I am not close with would actually ask me)

Will the surgeon be correcting any sort of deviated septum? If so, you could focus on that aspect and say you're getting your septum corrected. I told a few people and those I didn't tell didn't seem to notice a thing even though the result seemed so dramatic to me.
