How did you feel 8 weeks out?

By nolamom on 03 Feb 2013

If I'm lucky, I'm going to get my TT with MR and lipo to hips/flanks at the end of March. My 20th high school reunion is at the end of May, so 8 weeks after surgery.   How can I expect to feel/look? I know there will still be swelling, but other than that, should I be feeling pretty good? (You can see my before pics in my review, if that's useful to see where I'm starting from.)

I still felt pretty bad! 8 weeks was my low point as far as being grumpy and tired of having limited activity and limited energy. I was still swelling significantly by nighttime, tired of having to wear loose clothing or Spandex all the time, and basically frustrated. But there is a girl on my forum who said she felt amazing at 7 weeks and was working out full force. It's kind of hard to tell how you recover until you do it. I'm 11 weeks out now and my activity level is back to normal (ish) but I pay for busy days with extra swelling and aching by the end of the day.

You are welcome! You may want to scroll down the November and December 2012 check in boards if you have not done it already.

Hi there - I went back to the gym at 6 weeks, but took it very steady. It did feel a bit scary I have to admit. Other than that as long as you aren't going to dance the night away you should be fine. At the end of the day when you attend your reunion you can always have a sit down. I know everyone heals differently so it's going to be hard to predict but I would have been ok. I will be 12 weeks on wednesday and am almost back to all my gym work although it's still not comfortable to lay on my stomach. Good luck.
