December Tummy Tuckers Check in Here

By newmeat30 on 23 Oct 2011

There are only 38 days until the first of December and 68 days until the last day.  I thought it would be great if those of us that are anxiously counting down those last 38-68 days could get together and share our stories.

I have 36 days until my pre-op appointment on Nov. 29th and 49 days until surgery on Dec. 12th. I am so excited, but I know my nerves will start to creep in as it gets closer.

Hi newmeat30!! My pre-op is also Nov.29th and my tt surgery is Dec.8th! I am also having a hernia repaired at the same time. I'm very excited too, but also a little nervous! I've wanted to do this for years. Good luck with yours!!
newmeat30 8 Nov 2011
It is very exciting to "meet" you Leigh! I'm looking forward to the pre-op but I'm not sure what is going to happen...just looking forward to being one step closer to the end result. :D
leigh37 9 Nov 2011
I'm not sure, either, what will happen at the pre-op. I know, I think about the results and get excited. I have a cousin who had a tummy tuck 5 years ago, and her tummy is still nice and flat and she looks amazing!20 days til our pre-op!
Lisa107 2 Dec 2011
I am scheduled for the 12th also. So excited right now. I am sure I will be nervous next weekend!
LB Texas 2 Dec 2011
12 for me too :)
LMM3 25 Oct 2011
54 days for me. My surgery is scheduled for Dec 19. My ps said I wouldn't need a pre-op. That kind of concerns me, but he said I was healthy and didn't have any current health issues, so I should be fine. Should I be concerned?
Also, I'm already going through the mixed emotions of whether or not I should be doing this. However, it's something I have wanted for years. I can't stand my stomach and I would be upset with myself if I didnt do it. ;)

So glad to know I'm not the only one feeling this way! I'm having blood work done because I have anemia -- you can always ask for this to be safe - they can always must tell you no....it's your body, you can ask! Good luck!

55 days for me I am scheduled for my surgery on December 20 and I am very excited ,but also very nervous this is something that I have wanted for many years , but the fear of leaving my girls 9/6 without a mother terrifies me .My husband is very supportive and is taking time to take care of me ,but the worries are still.
newmeat30 25 Oct 2011
I am right there with you. My kiddos are 6 and 3 and we have talked a lot about what things will be like after the surgery and why I am having it done, but my BIGGEST fear is never seeing their sweet faces again and leaving them without a mommy. That terrifies me more than anything else. I've got a great surgeon, I'm in fantastic health, and I've never had a problem with any other surgery I've had...so this *shouldn't* be any different.
LMM3 25 Oct 2011
North Hollywood7147, I understand. The thought of me doing this and then leaving my kids 10/6/6 without a mother, scares me as well. I'm just praying God is with me through this whole thing and allows me to make it through with flying colors. I keep telling myself that I can die anytime, just doing simple things. So, this shouldn't be any different than anything else.
Trishchar 26 Oct 2011
I'm having my tt and lipo on dec 15...I'll be off work until the first of the year...can't believe I'm doing this!!! Anyone else freaking out yet? 50 more days!!!!!

I also have kids...three boys...12, 9 and 14 months. Funny story about the 14 month old...I found out I was preggers from my plastic surgeon in 2009...as I had blood work done, etc before my schedule tummy tuck! So glad I'm doing it now!!!
LMM3 26 Oct 2011
Yes, I'm freaking out. I can't imagine what I'm going to be feeling when it gets even closer. I already think about this all day long. I'm surely going to need to keep myself busy, so I don't drive myself crazy. Especially, since I don't have any free time anyways. I always have to get on here, as I sit at the end of my girls beds, while they go to sleep.
I can't imagine finding out that I'm pregnant that way. I bet you had some mixed emotions! I read on here where people needed to take a pregnancy test prior to their TT. My PS hasn't said anything about that. I think I might just go buy one to be on the safe side when it gets closer to that time. Thanks for mentioning that!

I am 49 years old, married, and our only child is a sophomore in college. I work full-time and I am nervous about going back to work after surgery. My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 13 and I go back to work on Jan. 3. I have almost finished my Christmas shopping, going to start wrapping presents soon and get the decorations up Thanksgiving weekend. I am trying to have things "done up" before my big date. My son will be home on Christmas break around Dec. 16 or 17. I am hoping I'll feel better by the time he gets home. I don't want to look super gross when he gets home. I have been wanting a TT for several years. I went to my first consulation 5 years ago. We decided we really couldn't afford it so...... my husband doesn't know this but I have been saving money every since. I have a little over $6,000 saved! I cannot believe I've saved that much money. Now, I'll just have around $6,000 more to borrow from our home equity line of credit. I can't wait to see his face when I pull out all of that cash! He's gonna shit a brick!
newmeat30 12 Nov 2011
You really inspired me to get on top of my Christmas shopping! I'm so happy to say that I have now purchased and wrapped all of the gifts for my kids teachers (4 gifts total) and I've done all of the shopping for Santa. We don't wrap Santa presents (they go all go unwrapped in a cute personalized Santa bags from Pottery Barn) so I'll just need to put them in the bags and stockings on Christmas Eve (keeping them hidden will be the challenge). All that is left to get will be the last couple things for my kiddos (from Mom and Dad) but that will have to wait till my next paycheck at the end of November (ugh...getting paid once a month is not fun).

Like you, I've been saving money for surgery too. I'll be handing over a hefty check really soon. Very exciting but scary too. :)

Reading your post sounds alot like me. I am also 49 yrs old and I'm scheduled for Dec 13 too. I am alittle nervous but I'm so ready to do this for myself. My surgery is going to cost me alittle over $9300 but it will be worth it. I have to go back to work on Dec 28 but it will only be a 3 day work week because of the holidays. I have a desk job so I should be fine. Are you nervous about what to expect in the recovery stage? Good luck with your surgery and hope all goes super well for you.
LadyDiamond 27 Nov 2011
Superhuper I am also 49 yrs old and my surgery is scheduled for 12/13 to. My full TT surgery is @ $9300 but I think it'll be worth every penny of it. I'm so anxious to get it done and over with just not looking forward to the post-op recovery. Anyway I wish you the best with your surgery and a speedy recovery.
Mothera8 6 Dec 2011
I have been saving for this for 3 years...out of "leftover" grocery money. Initially I was just going to have a breast lift and then decided to do the tt as well I am 57 and feel a little foolish and vain that I am spending this much money on ps. Scheduled for 12-27 and scared out of my wits.
lisee38 6 Dec 2011
Mothera8 I just had a breast lift & TT this morning! I was completly
nervous, sacred, anxious & excited!! lol ifelt the exact same eway aboutthe vanity &foolish feekings! but you cant really put a price tag on a mothers work, love time sacrifices but I know its worth more than what your spending on yourself. i finally accepted the fact that i deserve it & questioned why does it have to be considered vain to get our confidence & bodies back after giving so much of ourselves daily. Good luck to you, I posted a novel on my thread about my 1st day post-op if your interested! & good luck to you
Williamston 7 Dec 2011
You are impressive.... glad you are doing so well.
Bellanocha 7 Dec 2011
Hi Mothera8- I hear ya-I'm 54 but I truly don't feel it and just got soo frustrated having worked out for YEARS & well there is only so much exercise can do- need a little intervention in the belly department lol! A friend of mine had a tt at 68 & looks great-she did have a complication of a MRSA infection -but has recovered completely thank God! I'm on the 22nd & scared (mostly of pain lol!) Best of Luck to you & think positive! :)

lisee...can you believe I just saw that you had written this? I am just not that savvy yet with the site. Yes, I saw your "novel" and could really identify! I wrote one today but don't think it has been posted yet for some reason. I probably did something wrong...mercy! I have lived in "mommy-land" so long it is truly time to learn a little more about the big world out there. funny thing, this evening I ran into an old friend and caught her really checking out my flat belly...sure made me smil to myself :0)
lisee38 10 Feb 2012
