Day 12 Post Op, Did Others Use Compression Garment for Swelling?

Hi everyone I just had my TT done 7 Mar 2012 and wanted to know from those whom already had it done, is there anything you did to relieve the swelling and also did you use a compression garment like spanx or just the velcro like waist band given by the doctor? I want to massage my flanks because I see one side has a lump than the other. I had a full TT with lipo on my flanks and a little on my back. Also how long did it take for the swelling to go down noticeably?

Ok, that's the site I was just looking on. I was looking at the Marena high back mid body plastic surgery compression garment/brief stage 2. I was looking for one with the g-string bottom instead of the full bottom to prevent the panty lined look in my work pants.

Destined2b, a stage 1 garment is worn the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. It generally has hooks and/or zipper to accommodate drains. A stage 2 garment doesn't have zippers/hooks and also offers more compression. It looks like any other body briefer you'd wear under your clothes & trust me you wouldn't want to be without it for a while. The best part of the surgical compression garments is that they come out of the wash looking brand new, even blood stains. The fabric is very soft & comfortable. I wore a Rainey stage 1 mid body garment specifically because I wanted the open crotch. I bought two so I always had a clean one. I'm now wearing a Marena stage 2 high waisted brief which has hooks in the crotch. I love it! Some woman had recommended Bali & Flexees Torsettes. I tried both weekend and while I liked the design I didn't feel they gave me enough compression & the I found the fabric wasn't as comfortable. I bought all my garments from the makemeheal website & often found a 5% off coupon.

Cinrob what is the difference between the stages? Would you recommend the one you purchased? Also, how did it feel and look under your clothes? Where did you purchase it at?

Thanks cinrob! My PS did say that I could switch to a spanx like garment. So where did you find the compression garment and what is the difference with the stages? I may try the lemon in my water also. Has your swelling gone done a lot since your TT since you are past the 1 month postop point?

I had a FTT on 2/22. I got rid of the wrap around binder at a week. For the next two weeks I wore a stage 1 compression garment. My ps said I could switch to a Spanx like girdle at 3 weeks. I tried many & either didn't find the material comfortable or I didn't feel I was getting enough compression. I absolutely love my stage 2 Marena garment. As for the swelling it fluctuates, the more active I am the more I swell. Sodium will also make you swell. I add lemon to my water which has really helped with my swelling. Good luck!
