How to improve lax crepey skin and wrinkles underneath eyes?
By linda888 on 03 Feb 2010
Hello, The skin under my eyes is lax, crepey, and wrinkled, even when not smiling. I've been using retin A which has helped somewhat. What else can I do? Surgery, fillers, peels, microdermabrasion? Thanks

Hi,
Under eye skin laxity, creping and wrinkling are common problems, and oftentimes solutions suggested by doctors on RealSelf range from hyaluronic acid fillers to laser resurfacing to lower eyelid surgery.
I've never seen microdermabrasion or any superficial chemical peels recommended for under eye wrinkles and crepiness, however it makes sense that if deeper laser resurfacing works a deeper chemical might also work.
You'll need to consult with a doctor in person to find out what's best for you because your unique skin quality and characteristics will play into determining the best treatment.
I wouldn't let anyone but a highly experienced, board certified dermatologist, plastic, facial plastic or oculoplastic surgeon touch my under eye area (because the skin is so delicate and easily damaged), so if you're ready to start looking for a doctor, I'd recommend starting here.
Also, here are a few other places on RealSelf you can find some related info.
