Best way to cover up wrinkles and lines - Concealer tips

By Aliseon 29 Sep 2007

For the time being, I'd rather conceal my facial wrinkles and lines rather than get Botox or some laser resurfacing treatment. What is recommended?  All I've heard about is Jane Iredale makeups.

I have been using this wonderful new cream called Nerium. I have been using it for 2 months now and seriously have seen my forehead wrinkles fade (still a little there) and my crows feet gone! My skin under my eyes was starting to sag and now it is slowly getting better...amazing!! Check out this cream for yourself. The website is: jenniferg.nerium.com
There is a video that explains the cream and before and after photos.

Dry Needling is a very effective way to lessen lines and build new collagen. It's a permanent filler! the body recognizes these tiny perforations as a wound, sending collagen to the area, thereby plumping out the line. It's fantastic for wrinkles around the mouth, Glabella (between brows). I have many clients who fly to Florida just to have the treatment. It is very economical and as mentioned before: very effective. This treatment is amazing for scars left from facelift surgery, breast surgery, acne scars, and also scars on the body. It can even treat stretch marks. The best part is it is your own body that is actually regenerating itself, so it's the greenest beauty treatment around!

My wife and I are both 53 years old and have been using a serum called L2G from naturalbeautysolutions.co.uk. We apply it as and when required during the day, so that we can look our best for those important occasions. We also apply it last thing each evening. The serum absorbs through the skin and helps to boost the natural repair process that takes place each evening while we sleep. Just make sure that you use a good cleanser before applying to remove excess oils and debri from the skin.

Hi sweetpea70.. I am interested on your feedback re: how argon oil worked on your wrinkles?? God Bless...

sweetpea70 26 Dec 2011
I'm 41 and over the last few years, ive noticed more fine lines around my mouth and nose. Also, creases on my forehead and between my eyes. I have tried so many different creams and serums. Recently i bought argon oil. Ive heard great things about it and am hopeful. Ive heard also that certain vitamins are important as well. Fingers crossed!! I'm hoping to see an improvement over the next few weeks :)

As we age, our skin becomes more vulnerable to various elements and as a result we develop wrinkles. Good thing there are steps and over-the-counter treatments to help slow down or avoid wrinkles. If you are looking for more tips to avoid wrinkles, here's the source: How to Avoid Wrinkles

But what are you gonna do about the skin cancer that petroleum products cause, nirma shah?

i somehow agree with Alise that other means of getting rid of wrinkles but not botox. I've stuck myself with NeuCell anti-wrinkle cream because it didn't cause me any side effects, it works well, and it's affordable. i'd say that there are other means, actually cheaper and safer, of getting rid of wrinkles than clinical treatments which are expensive and risky.

The key is not so much to cover up the wrinkles but increase your levels of good fats (fish oil, borage oil, raw virgin coconut) in the diet internally to reduce them altogether. Topically, any good combination of monatomic gold, papaya enzyme peel, retin-a, copper peptides, or alpha hydroxy acids over the long term, should do the job. Enjoy! Hi there why camouflage if you can plum and tighten instead? Just use a Face Mask (Like Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Firming Facial Mask or Collagen Face mask by Silhouette Beauty) or do a Facial Peel(this does wonders for me)

i swear by bio oil, you can use it all over your body including your face, it's amazing and it smells good too, for best results use it before you go to bed and let the magic happen over night.
and you only need to use a few drops so it goes a long way, i've got very sensitive skin and i've had no irritation, can be used by the whole family....i could go on...lol
try it for a week and see the difference!!

I find that if I wash my face just prior to putting on my makeup with a non-soap facial cleanser and then apply a light application of extra virgin olive oil, it makes my wrinkles much less prominent and it gives my face that dewy glow of youth. The key is light application. I take a spray mist bottle or old spray perfume bottle and clean it out and put my olive oil in it. It dispenses just the right amount for me with 2 sprays in my hand. If you over do it, your eyeliner may leach down under your eye a bit. I also put it on after removing my makeup for bed to keep my skin moisturized. By morning my skin has absorbed it and it looks and feels soft and youthful. Since I started this regimen people have asked how I have been turning back the hands of time.

Mature skin often needs the camouflage appeal of makeup, which includes powder because it sets and holds makeup better. The trick is to moisturize before using liquid or, in some cases, a cream foundation. Powder very lightly over the wrinkled areas as well as the rest of the face. A kabuki or soft fan brush is wonderful for this and does the job in a very subtle way. Then if needed you can add more moisturizer using a stipple technique after makeup application, which softens the look of the wrinkles but keeps the colour intact. If you want a glowy look, lightly mist with water and voila - a dewy, healthy looking and colour-corrected skin.

Wrinkles are a challenge to cover, as traditional foundation often sits in fine lines and accentuates them. Fortunately, today there are many new formulations with "light reflecting" properties. For mature skin, I recommend applying a light-reflecting liquid mineral foundation and concealer under the eyes and on top of the eyelid to cover any dark shadows. This will reflect light and gives skin a more radiant appearance. Then dust with a very lightweight mineral powder to set the foundation and concealer. Some mineral powders are too thick and can accentuate wrinkles. Our studio's mineral powder is triple-milled and very lightweight - light enough that it does not sit in creases and fine lines.

The key in covering skin texture (wrinkles, fine lines etc) is to keep everything with a light touch. Too much or too heavy makeup actually makes you look older, heavier, and harder.  Go for a soft, dewy overall look and the whole face will appear softer, more radiant.  If you have certain areas with brown spots, a yellow based concealer will lighten and soften them under your foundation.

I agree 100%....That's how I deal with them.
