I am considering having cosmetic surgery in Belgium
By England on 29 Dec 2010
I have heard horror stories of terrible surgery done out side of the UK but UK prices are too high. Can anyone give me a good insight into cosmetic surgery in Belgium? I will be having breast augmentation & a tummy tuck. Thanks
i am from the uk BTW.
I met my ps here in the uk. for the consultation.
i paid appox 4480 for the entire package
that includes 2 night stat at hospital and 9 days in hotel
all meds, every thing.
they even paid for the flights.
the only thing i need to pay for is my food at hotel (although breakfast is included)
I will copy paste some answers I gave to other people from other countries. Mainly it comes down to this: if you add the flight (or train) and the hotel. Will it then still be cheaper? Plus you will have to come back for pre ops and post op checks! So you will have to travel at least 3 times to Belgium.
1. Hi,
Yes, scandinavian countries are in general more expensive. For everything. I paid 3000€ for my breast implants and that's a normal price. Prices in Belgium range from 2000€ - 4000€. But don't forget if you come here you'll spend money on flight and hotel. Don't count on flying back the next day and you will really need someone to take care of you and help you around the first 3-4 days. In the end you might spend more by travelling here. Some people in Belgium fly to Poland or Turkey because there it's really cheap (around 1000€) but I really prefer western countries for surgeries because of hygiene, medical control, after care and being able to communicate in my own language.
2.Hi, I live in Belgium and had a breast augmentation and rhinoplasty here. If you want I can tell you all about it. But I can already say that I prefer the US for my surgeries. I had my revision rhinoplasty in DC and am very happy with the profesionalism, service and (so far) the results. A little more expensive but definitely worth it. Never be cheap on surgery. Its your physical and mental health!
Thank you for your reply, where did you have your surgery done? I was looking at a clinic called Kliniek Beaucare have you heard of it?
Kind Regards,
Hi there,
While I haven't heard anything specifically about Belgium as a tummy tuck destination, here's a brief article about Medical Tourism.
The main drawbacks are not being able to interview your potential surgeons in person and post-op care, particularly if you suffer any complications.
Of course, it totally depends on the doctor you choose and your particular body/tissues.
Please keep us posted on what you decide to do. We'd love it if you'd start sharing your story with our Mommy Makeover community here.
Thank you for your links, very useful. I will definitely keep you posted :-)
