Correcting lips after silicone injections

Posted 30 Apr 2010

I had bad silicone injections in my lips many years ago. Is there anything I can do to have the damage fixed? Is silicone removal possible? Anyone else gone through this or dealing with it now? Thx

I just start a treatmeant with microdoroplet injections of medical grade silicone for lip augmentation, based on Dr.Norman Orentreich method. What exactly are the risks of this treatment?

It's a horrible disaster. I had silicone put about 4 years ago in my upper lip and 5 years later I look like a duck. The body does not stop forming tissue around the silicone and they just continue to grow. I have set up an appointment with a well renown doctor Dr. David Rosenberg in NYC to remove it on April 27th. I will let you know how it goes. The long term effects are so different for everyone that it is not worth the end result.

I too am in a similar situation. I had silicone injected into my lip 3 years ago and it seems to keep "growing"! I am eager to hear how your sugery goes because I am searching for a doctor to fix my lip. Best of luck and please keep us posted.

I had my lips injected 16 years,I was not happy with the results/ first they turned hard even though i had no lumps my lips looked like a hard duck bill these DR, should realize the mental trauma i went through,I was two years without leaving my house because i looked like a monster first i had kenalog injections every 2 months which were very painful and i noticed no difference then i went to see Dr.Carlos Wolfe in Baptist hospital in miami he cut half the upper lip off with a surgical sizzer like a paper cut out / i could hear the fibrotic tissue as he cut into my lip/i am very pleased with the results and He really knows how to remove most of it/they could never remove all because it attaches to your flesh but i did m home work and Wolfe has made me look normal again

I want to let everyone know that the surgery with Dr. David Rosenberg on April 27th went amazing. It is May 4th and I am having my sutures removed and I was only out of work for 2 days. Dr. David Rosenberg has dealt with plenty of people with illegal silicone injections. He has been doing very wealthy women on the UES (Upper East Side) for years as they did not know the long term effects. He only does head to neck and no other surgeries putting him in a category of knowing the face very well. The cost can depend on many factors but I will tell you that you can not skimp out on your face it was worth everything.

Pictures to come. Make sure to mention that you heard it from Gilbert Robledo so they can personally tell you how excited I was with my results. I forgot to mention WHAT AN AMAZING STAFF Dr. David Rosenberg has. He only has the best of the best work for him.

Hey Gilbert, I am also the same boat as everyone here. I had an unknown substance put in my lips a few years ago in a salon in the US. To this day I have no idea what it is, but my upper lip is projected way to far out from my lower lip. I had a lip reduction surgery to correct this, and I am happy with the results, as my lips were turned up at the corners before and now they look normal. But at the same time, that awful projection of my upper lip is still prevalent, and I still look look I had them "done". My question to you is, did Dr. Rosenberg's work correct just the shape of the lip or did it change the projection of them as well? If he is as good as you say he is I will schedule an appointment with him ASAP. Please also let me know if you went under local or general anesthesia, and if you were able to function normally when you went home? I know about the swelling and eating soft foods, but how about everything else? Hopefully you'll read this soon and post back; I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks! -M

Please...I would love to see before and after pics from anyone who has a silicon removed from the lips, that have results they are happy with. I do not need to see the whole face... just nose down or under nose down. I had silicone put in my lips 5 yrs ago and for 3 yrs I would not leave the house, only to the store because I had to...I have cried my eye out many times over this, my family has suffered, missing holiday with family.....Not going to school functions with my 10yr son, no parks, mall or birthday parties. My husband used to say I had a colgate smile. My smile is distorted and upper lip has fish roll ducky. I had a doctor say he could remove it, I paid $3,000 he used liposuction and it did not work.. what a waste! of course he did not give any money back. Please show pic's!! I want to get rid of this bulk and live freely smile again. I appreciate any input. Thanks, S.Hand
