Chicago Lifestyle Lift

By darpar7 on 29 Jan 2007

I am considering having the lifestyle lift procedure done in Chicago.  Has anyone had it done a Chicago LSL? And if so, are you happy with it?  Thanks!

let me know if anyone answers your question.I'm scheduled for one at the schaumburg office and i'm starting to get scared.I might postpone it and do some more research.I'm afraid of big scars that some people say they were left with. Also i keep hearing about how temporary it is.One lady's face was going back 1 month later and she said she looked worse than before.I'm so confused now and which doctor do you have? I've been told they are not all board certified. They do rush you there.Let me know your thoughts or findings.

I, too, am scheduled for Schaumberg and am considering moving to a later date. Did you have it done? Fill me in. I want all the details and don't leave anything out. Thanks

Did you get any replies with the details? If so, will you share them with me? I am curious but hesitant. Thanks, Kathi

This comment may come too late but I had the procedure done on March 15 in the Schaumburg office. I feel everything went well, I am dealing with a small infection right now even tho I followed every instruction to the letter. I had the lipo on my chin and neck and it made a big difference (expect extreme bruising tho) It's a week post-op and I still have quite a bit of hard swelling. I'm going back to have the stitches removed in 4 days, hopefully everything will be fine. All in all I'm satisfied with the results so far.

Do you think I might be pleased with just having lipo on my chin? I have scheduled an appointment with the Schaumburg office for a lift but, really just want to fix the hanging skin under my chin. After reading your results I am thinking that this may be all that I need.

I don't think the lipo will do it. After the fat is sucked out, you're going to be left with even more loose skin. To be honest with you, I'm not totally satisfied with the job they did on the lipo. They actually lipo down into your neck area, and now my neck looks kind of lumpy. It's not horrible, and other people don't notice, but I can tell. I don't want to discourage you from doing it, because in the long run I will admit I'm satisfied with the results. But they don't tell u the tightness you experience in your neck and face. I don't know if I'm feeling that because I was so loose before, but I don't remember my face ever feeling so tight. Also, the sides of my face are hard, probably from where they overlap the muscle. It doesn't look bad, but feels kind of strange. I'm almost one month post-surgery, so I probably still have some healing to do. I'm feeling fine, and believe I look much better. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from doing this, but I think someone should give some honest answers, and tell things that the Lifestyle Lift people don't tell you. If you have any more questions, feel free to post, I'll do my best to answer and let you know how I'm doing..GOOD LUCK!!

I had mine done at the Schaumburg office and I was extremely happy. I sent two of my sisters and one of my friends, and they all were just as thrilled with their results as I am.
I did a lot of research on the doctors and all of their doctors in that location have extremely good credentials, and are definitely board certified.
I had mine done about 3 months ago and I have no scars at all. I went back to work after 5 days.

I had the L.L. Dec5 it has been 2 months and I still have bruising by my ears, and alot of tightness also. But just by my ears. I also had my eyelids done.At first I thought they healed very fast but then they started to burn and get very very tight. Then that stopped and I have to say I am VERY happy with my results. It took a long time. They don't tell you that. I couldn't even leave my house for 4 weeks after.I'm just hoping that the bruising goes away oh and the numbness.I'm hoping it will just take time.
Good luck to everyone!!

I was considering the LL in chicago, but then i found a doctor in NW Indiana where i live. The consultation was free, he spent a lot of time with me and i felt very comfortable with the whole process. i had a mini facelift 2 months ago and couldn't be happier. I can't spell his name, Dr C?? at the {edited} Clinic.

So you did get the lifestyle lift?  But in {edited}, right?  You had said it was a mini-facelift so I wasn't sure if it was the lifestyle.  Thanks!

I also had the 'go back to work the following day" Lifestyle lift. It was done in the Chgo area. This DR, at 1st I liked very much. Needless to say, No way could i have returned to work the next day or even weeks later. I ciuuldn't even put the phone to my ear. I went back a week later because of pain, shooting pains, mainly on the ledt, stillhave mainly left lobe numbness, can't sleep on either the right or left side, stomach. Even on my back, when the pillow rides up, it hurts on the back of my ears. It's now been over 8 months& they said wait 6-8 months for the nerves to grow bACK. After the crusting went away, I noticed he had sewed my left ear completely to my face. Behind& below my ear lobes, I feel knots& roughness. They had previously been loose on the bottom. It feels like the thread!. When I wear a coat, it hurts the back of my ears. I had another Dr. tell me I wasn't a candidate due to my skin being too thin. When returning to the Dr that did this, he acted like it was no biggie& offered to sew my RIGHT ear to my face& said it was too hard to repair the left. I scheduled the surgery, then decided I didn't wasnt this Dr. to ever touch me again. Heck, it was a botch job!!! My left ear looks horrible, sticks out on the top& doesn't lay in thecrease of my face/ear , as they promised it would. I also have what I call 'creepy crawlers' & shooting pain mainly in my left ear. Since this isn't paid for by insurance, every Dr , IF they want to touch me& 99% don't, they wasnt over $150.00 just to look at me& say they don't know what that procedure entails. I also feel a severe tightness near both insions & in front of my throat. I'd lke to get my money back from this botched surgery, plus money to see another Dr& also to correct this. I feel it's only fair considering I have to have another surgery& 6-8 months of pain , if it will heal. There was no follow up to see how I was doing, I had to wait days to get the Dr to call cack. Unfair!I wouldn't reccommend this to my worst enemy.8 moths later & still in pain??? Do i call a lawyer or do I call the Lifestyle place to ask for a refund& other monetary funds to have this performed by another Dr?? My main fear is w/ another surgery, I may never get rid of my nerve problem. Not funny, but this Dr never even apologized to me, he acted as if it was no big deal& if that were the case, why not correct my left ear? I am so frustrated, fearful& don't know who/what to do... I have noticed that the lifetime lift works great for people who get their necks done but what about lines around the mouth and eyes, anyone had that done let me know!! thanks
Pink (unregistered guest) 9 May 2007
This lift is ONLY for the neck and lower face. It won't do anything for lines around the eyes. If you're talking about the lines that extent from the corners of your mouth, well, they were completely gone while I was still swollen. But now that the swelling has gone down, unfortunately they have come back. But I will admit that they really aren't as bad as before the lift.

Please see my story below this under ' latest comments ' I also went to Schaumburg. I do hear good reviews about Dr {edited}. He seems to be two of three that are really experienced in P.S. & went to school to learn. The Dr good Dr, I think, last name starts w/ a P.. Look on their website.Unfortunately, they weren't available for my lift & they put another Dr to operate.

I had my LSL on Wednesday, April 18th, 2007. My first day was not too bad because I was taking my pain meds and the local anesthetics were still on board. The next day I started to feel more pain so I kept taking my pain meds every four hours but because I could not eat much I ended up getting sick. I stopped the pain meds yesterday afternoon and I am just taking Extra Strength Tylenol which is helping enough. I would not expect to be pain free when having a surgery like the LSL so overall not too bad. However, it is a little hard because your muscles are so tight that you cannot chew anythng so it makes it hard to keep things in your stomach so you don't get nauseous when taking the antibiotics. I would say that is my only frustration. So far I do not have too much bruising and my incisions look pretty good. Of course hard to tell until they are fully healed. I do have to say that when I was in the office waiting for my procedure there was a woman in there that had the LSL done 4 months prior and she looked great. She showed me her incision lines and they were hardly noticeable. She told me that the second and third day were the hardest for her and then it was much easier after that. She also said take it easy and do nothing!! I have to say that she is so far right.

Can someone explain exactly what they do. If they cut around your ears like a facelift what do they do then? Do they pull up ligaments of something? Thanks.
guest (unregistered guest) 3 May 2007
I am now at 15 days post op and doing GREAT! I still have some numbness in the ear area but otherwise my pain is completely gone. I am very happy with the results. They are done in a way that people don't say "what did you get done" they say things like you changed your hairstyle or you have lost some weight. It cost me $4000. and the staff was very friendly and they did a good job following up. I would definitely recommend them.

They actually pull the muscles up and reattach them, kinda onto themself.(Sorry, kind of hard to explain) I think it's mostly neck muscles. I'm 2 months post op and still feel tightness under my chin, kind of like when your Mom tied your hat too tight...haha But it's really not bad at all.

Has anyone here had Lifestyle Lift with Dr. {edited} in chicago office? Am thinking of it in July & would appreciate ANY and ALL comments. Good, bad, ugly, and any info on actual days swelling was there. And when did you got back for checkup so stitches could be removed. Thanks.

I'm scheduled to have the lift and also upper eyelids done in the Schaumburg office next week with Dr. {edited}, who I did like very much at my consultation. However, after having read the many "don't do it!" horror story postings, I am pretty close to cancelling. Permanently numb and disfigured ears, severe scarring, short-lived or no noticeable benefits, and all the other woes reported are making me really reconsider. The last thing I need is to be a casualty! Has anyone had their surgery with Dr. {edited}? The office staff was full of glowing reports about him, but they also work for the same companty, now don't they? I'm rather concerned that he doesn't appear to be a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, although the office staff assures me that he is actually MORE qualified than the other three surgeons who are...rather hard to know if I can believe that. Thanks for whatever clarity anyone can give me on this... Editor note: you must join RealSelf so you can be contacted privately with doctor recommendations and feedback. i did& am still, 20 mos ;later oin horrible pain& the stitches are coming out of my incision. He also gave me a painful pixie ear& was mad& rolled his eyes saing to make another surgery date. I asked if it would be easier to fix the pixie ear& he said too dangerous, we will sew your other ear shut!!! That was his ' fix ' I won't have another painful ear& am still trying to get my med. records& they keep sending incomplete records. Bad experience, horrible pain 20 mos later, no ca;ll backs, no records completed, stuck not knoing what they did& no-one will touch me not knowing what was done. AWFUL
