How do you calm your parents fears about this surgery?

I finally told my mom today that i will be having my surgery on the 12th of OCT and she almost goes into a panic attack. how do I calm her down and tell her even though I live in a different state that I will be taken care of by friends and people i care about. She is more scared of this then i am.

How about telling her about this site and letting her browse all the worth it bits? Once she sees what a difference it makes she will calm down.
You may need to delete this thread though?!
Can she come and stay for a few days and then she'll feel useful and have something to think about ?
