This is an awesome idea! I've seen a lot of petite ladies on this this site and hopefully you all can get together to chat.

I love reading these posts. I am scheduled for my tt on July 29th. Can't wait as I do nothing but think about it every day!!! My son is just turned 18 and I have been dreaming of this day for that long. I am 5'1 and gave birth to almost a 9 lb baby. I am in shape (or somewhat try to be) work out 3-4x a week and nothing was going to get rid of the extra skin and stretch marks. I mostly do think of the pain afterwards, naturally, keep telling myself it will only last a few days/weeks at best, lets hope anyways.
How long before you were able to wear a bathing suit? Or how long before you felt like working out or doing your normal routine?
Houston0146 6 Mar 2011
Hi,I fit in this category ! i am 5'2".
and it 's been 4wks and 3days since my tt. I am doing ok. Still dont have a flat tummy. It looks alot better than what it was before the tt but I am still swollen, which i hope will go down but i have this hard/swollen area above the belly button, just hope it is not something i will have to live with forever.
Kimmers your pic's are awesome, you look great.
i am mine 7 Mar 2011
Do you think you tummy is not flat mainly due to swelling? My biggest concern is hating my results... I know you have to "wait" and "be patient" but, lets face it... No one wants to hear that! We have no choice but, its no fun :) I am so impatient I was thinking of asking the surgeon to snap a pic of me after the surgery so, I can see the results pre swelling! Think he'll go for it.

BTW... did you have lipo of the upper ab area? Maybe a little massage will help with the lumps... I know this is normal sometimes with lipo.
Houston0146 7 Mar 2011
Nicole I didnt have any lipo. And I am hoping that whatever is causing the swelling/ hardness above the belly button will eventually go away. Have still not taken pictures, so it is hard to explain.
I think your ps or his nurse could probably take the pictures for you,if you ask them; I think that is a good idea, I should have done
that too.

Well I guess I'm not the only one with a hard lump above the belly button. It does feel like a muscle...not sure if I really like it and I wish it would go away. I will be seing my PS in the month of July and I hope he can give me an explanation on the hard lump. I had my TT on April 12th, 2011. I am 42 and 5 feet tall, I weigh 114lbs. Did your swelling above the belly button go away and did you pS tell you it would? Your input would be helpfull. Thanks in advanc.

Hi Houston,

Hurray for all of us shorties! You have an inch on me girl:)

Hang in there and it will continue to improve each week. I also had or have the bump above the belly button. What is up with that!! My doctor said that it was the muscle but was fine. The little bump sure beats the double muffin top any day.

Being short we can't hide a single pound right! You are early in the process so will have to ride the wave a few more months but it is all worth it:)
Houston0146 7 Mar 2011
Kimmers your bump doesnt show at all in your pics.
Yes I am being patient because even if its not all flat,I just love not having the loose skin and
fat below the belly button.

Yay!!! Nuggets Unite:) I am 5'2" and I am scheduled for my TT in May. One of my biggest concerns is that I am pretty overweight for my height... a whopping 164... which is alot better then the 169 I was 2 weeks ago;) As you can see I am working my short little butt off to shed as many lbs as I can pre-op... Hoping to get down to 145 atleast, since my pre-pregnancy weight was around 130-140. I've got 10 more weeks and I feel like time as official stopped.... I think by the time it starts moving again I will be in the hospital wondering how it got here so fast! Isnt if funny how that happens? Okay... rambling:) Would love to hear some other shorties experiences pre or post op!

Hi Nicole,

Just keep at it and you will get there before you know it! When I was in my process I just took it five pounds at a time. And trust me when I say this....my body does not give it up easily. I have to fight for every pound which stinks.

Being almost 47, on estrogen and thyroid meds makes it even harder.

Just hang in there and push through! You can do it. The little nuggets can do anything they put the minds to:). My hubby says I am like a wild bull in a china shop.....step asidem

Hugs!

Kimmers, glad you started this thread. I am barely 5'1" and you are right, we can't hide any extra weight. After years of my weight going up & down I had gastric bypass.

For over a year my weight has been the same so I decided to have my TT. I am 5 wks post-op and feeling good. Just hate the swelling!!!!

The only problem I had was a stitch abcess that got infected & I developed staph. PS had to cut the incision open and clean it out so that it could heal. It's been one week since that and it is healing really well. Thanks to this procedure & antibiotics.

I am so happy I made the decision to have a TT. And glad that I found this site before.

Ouch now that sounds painful!

The swelling is a pain in the ass!  The only thing you can do is be patient and ride it out.  My swelling tortured me until 7 months post op...bugger!

It does end and you will all be glad in the end.  A little temporary swelling beats a hanging muffin top any day!!

I am so glad that I did both of my procedures and would do it all over again for the results I have.

I am scheduled for March 22nd, 4'10, 100 lbs...talk about a "fun size" LOL!!! I am nervous and excited. Any words of wisdom?
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 16 Mar 2011

You are a total peanut!!   You are scheduled right before my birthday!

Just relax, take a deep breath and think ahead to the beautiful new tummy you will end up with.

The one thing I can say about being small and having a TT is that you will feel really tight after.  I could not take a deep breath for the first 4 days after and my Doc told me that it was because I was so small.  He tightened the Ab muscles so tight and it squished everything in my little body...LOL

Cleveland1029 17 Mar 2011
It isn't planning on tightening the ab muscles, but will see when he gets in there. I used to be overweight, then had two pregnancies and gained and lost a lot which has left me like a balloon that was blown up several times and had the air let out. Just a whole lotta excess skin that is just won't go away, no matter what I do! Any advice for a munchin like me?
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 18 Mar 2011

I hope that he can leave your ab muscles alone.  If so it will be a much quicker recovery.  If you do have them done you just have to relax and stay calm when you get that tight feeling.

The tightness and not being able to take a deep breath caused me a bit of panic.  My hubby had to talk me down off the cliff.  He could just see the anxiety building in me and it also scared him.  So between that and being constipated the first 3-4 days it was horrible.

I felt like I was going to explode.  My lungs felt compressed because of being so tight and small...plus I was full of pooh.   Now there is simply not enough room in the little body for all of that action...LOL

I am 5'1 and going in on April 8th! I had my little boy 19 months ago and gained forty pounds and lost it all in the past year and a half but my muscle separationi is horrible and looks like I have a beer gut, lol! Can't wait for my new tummy!
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 18 Mar 2011

You ladies are all going to do really well.  Here is to all of us Fun Sized girls!!

The one problem you will have is with the binder.  Even the small sizes are horrible on us shorties.  They go from under your boobs all the way down past your hips and just do not fit us well.

Luckily my doctor let me ditch mine three days post OP.  I was one of the lucky ones who's doctor is not a big believer in them anyway.
i am mine 18 Mar 2011
I am actually hoping my binder covers a large area.. I have read of some women swelling more in the areas not covered... maybe because it is pushing all the fluid up.. or down. Someone on here described their lady bits as "the size of a baseball"... My mouth literally dropped so I want everything compressed!! Lol... I want a full body suit just to be sure ;)
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 18 Mar 2011

That was me...I said that my Who Who looked like a baseball...LOL   Not so funny at the time.
i am mine 18 Mar 2011
Lol Kimmers!!! I called my girlfriend half laughing and half pertified when I read that and the first thing out of my mouth was: "My crotch is gonna look like a baseball!"..... I think she almost fell out of her chair, I caught her pretty off guard with that comment. Lol
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 18 Mar 2011

LOL...I know.  The first time I looked down and got a look at that hot mess I about died.  I wish you could have seen my hubbys eyes.   I looked and said "I have a man package".   Priceless!   I was like..what the hell has happened to my Va Jay Jay.

It goes down but is a bit freaky to look at the first two weeks.
blondiekj 21 Mar 2011
I am going to totally freak out if my girlie parts swell up that bad... I better not let my husband see that! If he does he will never let me live it down!
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 21 Mar 2011

It is pretty comical!   All you can do is laugh at the time.  It goes down but takes a little while.   And yes, it gives the hubbies something to laugh about as well.
