Did you get burned or white streaks from bad chemical peel?
By Michelleharbeson on 01 Sep 2008
Does anyone know how I can heal the scarring on my face from a bad chemical peel? I am devasted to say the least. They left the peel on too long while I was asleep. I have tried vitamin E--nothing helps. It looks like someome burned my face and I have white streaks at the jaw bone on both sides. If you have had this problem, too, please let me know. Thanks...signed Depressed
Hi Bev, Yes I have white streaks around jaw line I sued and lost. It is an inherent risk and they screwed up. I cover them with this stuff called dermablend cover creme 1oz jars can get in department stores or beauty supply places. I use it everyday and I hate it. They do not really cover them up but it is all I can do. No one can fix white streaks they are scars for life. I am sorry for you too.
I have used peels for years & have burned sensitive areas a few times. The best treatment I have found for this is using 100 % Aloe Vera (found at health food stores or online) & Aquaphor ointment mixed with over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream (unless you can get a prescription for higher %). Aquaphor is very healing & is used by many plastic surgeons to help healing. hydrocortisone will calm your skin & help with redness. The aloe will definitely speed things up as well. So far I have no scarring with this method, good luck!
My face was burn also because of the chemical reaction.Still looks bad and it leaves big scars.IT looks awful.I hate going out the house.I miss so many days at work because of my face.I feel so ashamed of what i look like.I feel like shooting my self.I feel so awful.I did everything
You poor thing! I hope by now it has improved...I had something similar done with the same effect and I was so mad at myself after thinking I did it to myself. Important thing to remember: you didn't mess up! In the future just be really careful about who you let touch your face because as nice as the "promised" results often sound, the reality is that it can go horribly wrong; ask yourself if you are still willing to go through with it if it does? if not, hold off! Good luck and I hope you are recovering well.
Hi Cherine, we want to get rid fast of what´s on our face and keep mistreating it, I know, I´ve done the same. After having burned myself with a glycolic AHA I was perscribed Silver Sulfadiazine to help with the burn. This helps avoid infection and can avoid scarring, however it´s not much of a moisturizer and as soon as there is no infection problem, start hydrating your skin in every way, by this I mean exteriorly and interiorly. In the morning: Wash and hydrate and use sun block; at night: wash, use a toner, hydrate. This hydration at night should be done on alternate days, try to do it the day before you wash your hair. Drink lots of water and I´ve been looking into some natural juices to help.
If you come to know of more solutions write back, I´d like to know. Good luck
I suggest you cetaphil cleanse. Its milder than any other cleanser. You can switch to argan oil or emu oil. Its good for wounds and burns. :-)
