breasts are red and irritated 4 weeks after surgery

By Bonzo on 27 Oct 2011

Doesn't seem to be an infection but I am more uncomfortable now then a week or so ago.  skin on top and side of breast very tender and also along incision on one side.  Other side vertical part of anchor has opened but just a little pale liquid oozing, not puss or pain at site of incision.   anyone have same experience

saw dr today. 50% of breast reductions split their stitches. and irritation on other breast was from a couple of inside stitches that he removed. some antibiotic cream and a little time will heal all. ok to use jacuzzi and swim. should be able to golf by the time we go to fl on Thanksgiving. a good visit.

Perfect!   I am happy you had that checked and now have peace of mind.   Darn stitches!

Had another consult Nov 20 and healing is progressing well - incisions closed within a couple of weeks. Suddenly have shooting pain in nipple on right side. Incision below breast is also still quite red and almost blueish purple at incision line. Could I be allergic to internal stitches and could the stitches not be dissolving

I think you need to get in and have your doctor check this.   Could be nothing more than dry irritated skin but please get this checked out.
