why does my breast scar look so thick underneath or is it ointment??

my boobs are also fuller towards my under arms...i know what u mean...but i guess as long as they pert we'll just have to work around everything else...

Hello, dont worry... I kept reverting to the tubigrip stuff... I bought new bras and they hurt. Even when they were OK to put on, within half an hour... ouch! Anyway, after about two months I suddenly realised it felt better ... now three months and I wear most bras OK. Still slight problems with one or two though, but as I say, getting better all the time, so be patient. Underwires can chafe a bit. But go bra-less!! That's the best bit so far... never, ever been able to go without a bra unless I was hiding in my huge old dressing gown... and no one to see me!

I've got slightly puffy bits under forward from under my arms.. I never had boobs there before the op! I am hoping they will go down.. they are a little less than perhaps a month ago, and they are at the end of where the scar stops.. not sure if it perhaps something to do with the drains that were in for a couple of days. Anyone else got this problem?

hi everyone, im 6 weeks post op and i was just wondering when can i start to were normal bras? my doc said i could at 4 weeks post op stop wearing my binder n sports bra...i tried it but it was painful! and i still wear my binder 50% of the time but im beginning to feel it's not neccessary at all...

No, stopped massaging... but will start again. Got some Bio Oil so will use that. Thanks for your words... I will just wait and see. Thank you again,

Hello, I am now three and a half months post op. Every morning I get up and smile when I see myself in the mirror, so any pain fades away.... On the other hand it still hurts when I try to sleep on my side. It's OK if I roll over carefully and arrange myself and I doze off, then when I move back onto my back.... ooooohh it feels awful and funny and hurts. I cant think why and I think it's getting a little better as each week goes by, but if it's like it for the rest of my life - I dont care - my boobs are fabulous, tiny, cute and pert - after 40 years of large droopy ones!

Lol dont worry your time will come...most of the ladies on the site suggested to have both procedures done at the same time but i feel differently after going thru it...tummy tuck recovery is very uncomfortable and i would have preferred to have the strength and mobility of my upper body to get thru the first five days which was the worst for me...so dont even worry about it the only thing you missed out by not doing both at the same time is the worst kind of pain!...

well i thout i was out of the woods but today its seems i have little spots where the wound is still wet and im not sure if i should using the surgical tape on there since it does'nt seem to dry out if its covered so i am going to my local nurse today just to make sure all is okay ...im so paranoid about infections and scarring...its only going to be five minutes in and out of her office and will hardly cost a cent so im going to put my mind at ease...

I so wanna get a tummy tuck, but I really need to wait for the breast to heal. I am having a small issue with healing, but I am sure that my doctor is gonna get it under control.

I am less than a month Post Op and I have been told to use paper tape for AT LEAST the next 2 months. The tape is suppose to help with compression and the compression is what will flatten the scar and keep them from getting wider. The tape is suppose to allow air in and keep out the germs. I have to say...one thing I should have done better was getting and keeping the underside of the breast dry. A hair dryer set on cool for about 10 minutes per side (really...10 minutes to get the skin really dry) will help the tape stick to the skin and it wont feel gross and sweaty.

Your breast look great! Mine were super swollen and then about 3 days in to my post op days...the skin started to peel and it was not even a little cute...your look GREAT!! Hang in there and take your pain meds and know that you are on the way to having the most fab breast and flat tummy!! :)

My incisions were red and more raised a month after surgery. They're starting to lighten and flatten out, now (2 months later.) My surgeon suggested gentle, circular massage with fingertips along the incision site 2-3 times a day. (Only if it doesn't hurt!) I think this is supposed to improve circulation along the scar. Also, check with your doctor, but mine says silicone sheeting can help with reducing a scar's appearance.

i am now 3 1/2 weeks out from BR. However, remember worrying about the same thing. After my stitches and the tape was removed from under my breast i worried that the scars were raised and "pieced" together. At nearly a month out, the scars are softening nicely and i feel that another few weeks and they will be totally flat. just hang in there, everyday gets a little better.
