Hello Forum. I had a reduction on May 13th. Went from 36DDDD(G) to 36 D. Very happy and very itchy! How long have others worn padding in sides of surgical bra for support on the side Lipo? Also, has anybody started the scar massage yet?

also, my parents friends are in the medical field and they told me to look into getting hold of some silicone dressings. These are sticky bits of silicone that go on the scars (they make breast reduction anchor shaped ones specially for BRs) after the wound has healed so after the stitches are out/disolved. The basic benefit is taking of the pull and stress on the scar so that less collagen (scar tissue cells) form and thus scars are flatter, lighter, and less wide. You can buy them on amazon! they are quite expensive but you only need one of the more expensive ones for each breast for the whole 6 months (maximum treatment time) and apparently they really do work. so yeh just thought i'd let you all know! i'm defo gonna get some and get my surgeon to show me how to apply it properly

okay so my comments are being published?! but my surgical bra was absolutely killing me aswell on the bottom scar so i bought two soft t shirt bra's known in the uk as 'genie' bras and wore them underneath to pad it and now i ma fine so maybe try and get hold of something similar?

I went out shopping for a 2nd bra yesterday & actually had the Genie bra in my hand & wasn't sure it would be supportive enough & put it back. I ended up with this torture device that I had to sleep in because I washed my good one & it was still wet. Woke up in agony today, ugh.

Do you find the Genie bra supportive? I may go back & get one today.

two put together is supposed to act as a sports bra and i fuond two supportive but i bought a cheaper one which wasnt the genie brand and it was shite!! so make sure its the genie brand and get two :) or i put them under my surgical bra for extra support and compression, but yes i would recomend they are very comfy!

I wasn't told to get a surgical bra, not even sure what it is to be honest, but I was lucky enough to find an awesome (& cheap) sports bra at Zellers, it zippers up the front & is very comfy & feels snug enough but not tight enough that its cutting off my airway. mind you I haven't been exactly running a marathon around here lately, but for right now, its perfect. :)

I found 2 I love :
Sports bra is "BestForm style# 5006088" this bra has 2 hook and eye in the back . This is a wonderful littel bra with nice breath holes in the chest cost $8.99 at K-mart . FANTASTIC night and day support and very comfortable. Does not ride my incisions. purchased my rib size :O) fits great !

Bra #1 is "Bali Comfort Revolution Wire Free style number 3463". Price $ 25.00 . side "D" . This bra is Soft and flexable. Supportive and comfy. Band is lower on ribs so no ridding my incisions.

sammy~ the swooshing is always there. Especially when i am laying down and i happen to rub my hand across my chest. Its soooo weird, been doing it since yesterday. Wish there was a way I could shower or even WASH MY HAIR! I feel so icky. This scratching is outta control too, i wonder if hydrocodone would be btter. I should probably get ahold of my doctor. I think i am going to have my mom change my pads now and then i can see my 'LADIES' for the first time. I hope i dont go into shock! LOL

Im binded SO tightly..the girls have not moved a centimeter. Thats what is causing me so much of my discomfort I think. I am on Vicodin every 4 hours. My breasts are VERY hard still...I put ice packs on on the very tops of them (like my cleavage area) and that helps alot. I also make sure to not sit/lay in the same position for a long time. I would take Benedryl for the itching..but for sure call your doctor. Hubby washed my hair yesterday, and I will be doing a sponge bath tonight. I cannot remove the surgical bra (which is over the massive gauze and tape bindings) until my first post op on the 6th..which will be the first time I will see the new girls. Another thing..maybe you need a tighter bra so that you wont have the "swooshing" feeling. That would drive me nuts! Good luck..and feel better soon!

OMG TaraFF!! I had a weird waterbed thing going on too!!! I was trying to wash off some of the red stuff they cover you with because I had an allergic reaction to it & when i wiped across the top of my right breast it was the weirdest sensation, like a huge bubble was moving around & I could hear it sloshing too. It did it about 5-6 times & now its gone.

It really freaked me out, glad i'm not alone. I'm on tylenol #3 with codeine but yesterday when the surgical nurse called she said i could drop to extra strength tylenol if i want to. I tried it but decided to give myself another day with the #3's. I'm really tired today and neck is really sore from sleeping on my back, propped up a bit. I just feel worn out today.

I'm supposed to take off my dressings today & shower. that should be interesting. I'll keep ya'll posted. :)

I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS! :) Had my surgery on the 31st and am very sore! My 1st question is WHAT PAINKILLERS ARE YOU GALS' ON?? I just feel like the oxy isnt working that well b/c i am still in some pain and i am ALWAYS SCRATCHING MY BODY. I ITCH SOOO BAD CONSTANTLY. Maybe another drug may help. ALSO, MY BREASTS ARE ALWAYS SWOOSHING LIKE WATERBEDS WITH AIRBUBBLES, It feels and sounds so bizarre i'm wondering if you are or have experienced this before. It has me a little put off b/c i thought they would be hard and trying to form, but they are just so blubbery watery feeelin. My mom is changing my guaze for the first time today so we get to see what they look like. I still have tubes in too. Maybe i'll be able to get them out on monday. I am just SOOOOO uncomfortable right now, anything ANYONE of you can say (advice or just talk) would help maybe to put me at ease a little. Even typing this is hard, i have bags of peas piled up on my (swooshing)chest. LOL Thanks ladies. I hope you all are recovering well! Thinking of y'all! ~~~

Surgery went well yesterday, i ALMOST chickened out. I was very scared, but i hung in there (with tears involved LOL)! I am in soooo much pain today! Thank god i have my mother staying with me. These tubes are driving me crazy. I do wish the oxy would help with pain better. I had to start taking benedryl cause i ITCH ALL OVER from the oxy. My mom scatches my back and she bought me an 'itcher stick' yesterday that helps. Well, i will keep you updated, im starting to see douhle from being so tired!

I'm on day 3...and finally started to feel some relief today..only 25% but its something. Stay positive...that's all I can do at this point. I'm a little frustrated because I can't see anything until Wednesday when they remove my wrappings

I had my surgery yesterday, spent the night at the surgical clinic & got home this morning at 8am. felt pretty good until around supper time when my upper arms, neck & cheeks started getting red & burning, as if sunburnt. I called the clinic & spoke to my surgical nurse who advised me to take a benedryl, which I did, but it has me worried.

Another thing that was weird was earlier, while wiping my chest with a wet cloth to remove the red surgical stuff I could hear a weird popping sound & feel a bubble of some kind move around. its gone now though. has anyone else had anything like this?

I would call back and speak to some one on call at your PS's office. Maybe it is a allercic reaction to something they put on your skin. Hope you feel better. my thought are with you.

OK. Weirdish question. "Why do so many Br patients have post op pics with tape over their incesions?" My PS told me to only use gauze for two days post -op or for a few days longer if my breast have drainage and the post op nurse said to use pads to help cushion by incesions for the first week if I needed it. What purpose is the tape fo ?

My PS closes the incisions with glue and tape no staples or sutures. I will have tape on for 4 weeks. The first round of tape will be replaced next week.

Thank you for responding. My PS closed all my incesions with disolvable stitches. Makes since. I am allergic to some adhesives and so I am now guessing that is why I do not have glue or tape. So far my recovery as been very Ich free. Happy Me.
