Surgery was 2 hours I think. I remember laying on the bed in the OR and them putting a blanket thing on me that blew warm/hot airmen to keep me warm and I was out. Woke up in pretty bad pain and HOTTTTT so they turned off the blanket and shot me up with more pain meds 3 times. Talked to my hubby in recovery for 30/40 mins and was wheeled out to the car. Easy and fast. They gave me Percocet for paid and meds for nausea. I did get sick 2 times. Once as soon as the car started moving and then after the first time I ate. But I was eating and feeling fine about an hour later. Take pain meds every 3 hours and I can really feel the pain in my left vertical incision after 3 1/2 hours if I don't take my meds. Overall I think I'm gonna be very happy and have a pretty fast recovery! :)

I have a small opening at the T section under both breasts... I'm calling my dr in the morning because I've already went through 2 boxes of gauze and I'm bleeding alot down there. My husband says he thinks I have an infection since when he was helping me change the gauze there was a bad smell :/ any advice???

It's very easy to get infection in wounds that are open. Keep your areas sanitized and keep Lysol on hand to spray everything. Go over the too with it. Dial body wash soup and a new body sponge. If you have animals keep them seperate army moms dos slept in her bed after surgery and she got staff. Ask for more antibiotics and the foul smells does indicate infection.

I never got antibiotics after this surgery.... I sent my dr pictures this morning and he wants to see me but I'm 2 hours from his office and I have my 2 babies alone today for the first time since surgery. I'm so stressed....

I wanted to update since I seen the dr last week. He put silver patches over the open wound but I haven't seen much if a difference other than the bleeding is almost stopped. Both holes under my breasts are still open. But the rest of my breast look amazing and I'm not worried about scares! He did a beautiful job. I'm so ready to have these wonds healed up to stop wearing gauze tho! I go back to see him Friday to see how things are and if we sound try something else!

Hi Mrs Reeder! Good luck! I have a 2 and 4 yr old and am about 6 weeks post-op. It has been hard with the kids, but I just explained that mommy had some ouchies fixed and that worked pretty well. Now yours are younger, but the 2 yr old will get it. It is hard not to pick them up for sure, but I improvised when I had to, like using my leg to lift them into crib or changing table. Also, when they get on your lap, just keep a pillow between them and you or place your hand on their back to keep them from whacking you unexpectedly! Ouch!! As for the bra, I used Marena Surgical Bra with 2" Elastic Band (F5 Certified Compression Garment) that i got on Amazon. It was comfy and supportive after the one the dr. gave me started getting painful. Hope this helps!! Good Luck!

Thank you so much!! I've been trying to see if any local stores carried a bra kinda like that one since my surgery is Monday but I haven't had luck yet. I tried telling Darren (2yrs) momma was gonna have surgery and he won't be able to lay on my boobies and he said NOOO! Lol he is a boob baby lol I only breastfed him for 2 weeks (milk dried up) but you would think I breast fed longer because he attached to them! Lol My one year old doesn't mind much...he don't like to cuddle. But my husband will be home and I hope thing go as planned and I'm super happy with the results I get :)

Oh what should I wear day of surgery? And how many days was you down before you could move around? My surgery is Monday and we are Supost to have a crawfish boil/birthday party at the house next Friday. Will I be able to move around then a little?

Don't worry about a bra for the first week. You will be tapped and wrapped for the first few days and my dr sent me home in a surgical bra. Best to find out what your dr does. I used amazon two day shipping and got it quickly when I was ready to switch. It is nice to have a second one for showering so you can wash one and put on a clean one. I just used the one the dr gave me as the second.

Wear a zip up hoodie if u have one and sweatpants. Also shoes that don't require much effort. The first two days were the worse. I would give yourself at least 4-5 days to just do nothing. After that I was up a bit and driving kids to school at 6 days. That was me though. Make sure you take it easy and listen to your dr. I had no popped stitches or anything and my scars are already healing well. You will be able to move around for your party I bet without much problem at all! I also had lipo which stopped me from moving earlier. I love crawfish!! Have not had that since I lived in NC
