Had breast lift and augmentation woke up with wrong implants!

I finally got up the courage to give myself a tummy tuck breast lift and breast aug. I choose silicone and woke up with saline. Apparently the manufacturer sent the wrong implant and no one bothered to verify the product until I was open and in the table. So know I have implants I didn't want.

Is the surgeon providing you with any form of compensation or refund of fees?

They are offering to correct it in about six to eight months. The thing is I don't know if I want to under go major surgery again. Otherwise they are just refunding the difference of the saline and silicone. They are just so calm about this and it took me thirteen years to get up the courage to do this. I'm devastated and its just been a week and a day.

I'm so sorry this happened! Were the implants larger or smaller than what you wanted? How did you find out they were the wrong ones?

Actually the size is 400 cc which is what I wanted. The problem is I wanted silicone (paid) for silicone received saline. I do mammograms for a living do I habe seen my share of implants and I new quite well what I did and didn't want. What really eats me up is they are so casual about the entire thing. It took me thirteen years to make this decision. They say they will correct it in eight months our so like its no big deal. That's assuming I would dare let them touch me again.

They used the wrong type they used saline instead of silicone. I actually didn't find out until the day after my surgery they knew how upset I would be and wanted to allow a minute I guess. Apparently the manufacturer sent the wrong implant and they don't double their supplies before they go into surgery. I was already on the table and opened up when they realized the mistake. Now hey this they will gladly fix it for me in eight months and replace the implants. I think it is very curious they would assume I would trust them again. It took me thirteen years to make it this far and now I'm living as night mare. No one to blame but myself.

Consult an attorney ASAP. They will likely speak to you for free. Essentially, you had a surgery performed on you that is not the surgery you gave them authorization to do.

It is fine that they made a mistake, but offering to let someone who has already made a mistake perform surgery on you or alternatively deducting the difference in the cost of the implants is not adequate.

If you do not wish to contact an attorney, it would behoove you to consult with the AMA or your areas medical licensing organization to see what can be done.

Curious what made you want silicone over saline? My PS says there is not difference in look. So sorry that happened to you, good idea to talk to an attorney.

I suppose it its due to the fact that I am a mammo tech and have seen every type of implant at every stage. Silicone has a more realistic feel that is for sure. And in my opinion the silicone appear to hold up better in the long run. Just what I have seen.Pp

I am so sorry this happened to you. Could you, please, tell us where you had your surgeries? I am asking because at the end of November 2010 I had surgery in Costa Rica and it turned out to a nightmare story. First, I was convinced to have implants instead of just a breast lift. I was told it was better for my body, easier to heal and due to my small breasts the implants would do the same job as a lift adding to a little more breasts. I was a small B told them to just give me a Full B cup. The size used are considered small. My left breast was smaller then the right, they put 280cc and 260 cc in the right. However there's a big difference in size, it feels like the right is a lot bigger, heavier, hangs more but both do hangs and feel bigger then Full B cup. After 3.5 months I am still in pain,. Everything I do causes more pain such as opening a door, I can make my left breast dance just touching my hip w/my thumb. They say it's all good and will set and go down and that it takes a year before full result. If they go down lower they'll be at my waist. I just wanted to have a lift so I didn't have to wear a bra, now the bra doesn't even hold them up nicely and you can tell the difference even under a loose blouse. Hope will both be fine. Oh the rest of my nightmare was the tummy tuck and repair gallbladder that both opened and are now almost close without mentioning quite ugly.Another story time...
