Breast Lift at 24?

By misslakey0326 on 24 Apr 2012

I am a 24 year old mother of 1.  5'4 and 145lbs.  I breastfed my son for 8 months and as things usually go, it changed my breasts not for the better.  I have surgery scheduled on July 5, and as the date gets closer I am getting VERY nervous.  My plastic surgeon said that I have too much sag for submuscular placement, and he was worried that my breasts would hang off the end of the implant.  He suggested doing subglandular placement, saying that it would give my breasts a nice lift and look very natural and that he really didn't want to do a breast lift because I am so young and that my breasts still have a very nice shape.  He said that I have ample breast tissue for a subglandular placement and if I wore support I will be fine.  I keep reading stories from women who say they have needed multiple revisions because of sagging and rippling associated with subglandular placement.  I also read that it has a higher risk of bottoming out and capsular contracture.  I would love some feedback about my situation, and if any of you have had good or bad experiences with subglandular.  Thanks for reading!

No problem! All my questions that I posted on here the Drs said no lift but I have to go with my gut. I just started my review so keep following me :)

Thanks for replying! I feel the same way about larger AND saggier breasts. I have 2 more consultations before I make my decision. I'll let you know what the verdict is!

Hi! I struggled with this as well. I have good nipple placement but a lot of breast tissue under my breast. I have decided to go with Dr. Feng in Cleveland oh after seeing 4 drs. She will be doing just a vertical lift and 330 cc saline. I just decided that I didn't want larger AND saggier breasts.
