Hi wint09,

The official answer is that both saline and silicone implants are safe (from the link posted above, and according to the FDA). Of course, this doesn't help you choose. ;)

It's a good idea to weigh the pros and cons alone and with your doctor. Forget the "silicone vs. saline" debate and think of everything else you want to achieve with your surgery. Some things to consider:
- Scar location
- Feel
- Shape
- Size
- Replacement cost (neither silicone nor saline lasts forever)
- Risks

Usually this will lead you to one type over another.
