I had a Lifestyle Lift from Dr {edited} in August. I'm really glad I trusted him and am very pleased with the work he did for me. I had my neck and face done and I can't explain whats its done for my self image. I hated not looking and feeling like myself. He's very nice, make sure to ask lots of questions so you know what to expect.

Hi, MichelleD.....Did you face still looked "stretched" around your mouth by week 3? Did you have "tubular lumps or swelling" in front of and on your cheeks? I had the procedure including lipo on chin and the "cords" done on March 13. My neck is looking pretty well, but my face still looks "pulled" and I have the lumps and swelling I described above. I also had Dr {edited} who I felt was very trustworthy. I guess I am just wondering if this is part of the process. When I do call they do tell me that it could take about a month for all swelling to go down. I don't work so that is good but I havent told anyone about this and have been avoiding people until I look ok but its hard with Easter coming up. I do notice the swelling and tubular lumps getting less noticeable every day but its minimal. Sorry for the rambling.

Hi Madre,
I went for my review last week. I am still not sure about going through with it. I am 59 years old. Do you think I am too old as I read reviews saying its good for women in their 40's. I want to do my neck. Thanks

Hi, Katy.

I am in my late forties. I had it done because I had jowls and a saggy neck. It is just about a month. My neck looks amazing right now. The bruising is gone However, my cheeks are still somewhat swollen. The swelling goes down everyday but minimally and that is very frustrating for me. I dont work but I didn't tell any of my friends that I was having the procedure and have had to avoid everyone for a whole month; which is very hard since two of my close friends live on my street. I have had friends that have had full face lifts and found their recovery to be more painful, more bruising, and they had not "bounced" back as quickly as I have. Sorry to ramble but want to give you as much information as I can. I found a lot of what has been said by other bloggers who say they had the procedure extreme and false. So BOTTOM LINE IS: the procedure: I found it to be exactly as was described to be. I loved having the local rather than be put out. recovery: longer than I was led to believe; but not a lot of pain at all. Longer in the sense of when the swelling would go down. The weirdest part was my ears being numb. My opinion of The Lifestyle Lift Clinic: Everyone there is very friendly. When I called, after the procedure with questions or concerns, I always got a return call back immediately. But with that said the office is a little too sales oriented. Dr. {edited} was terrific. I really liked him and felt at ease with him during the procedure. I read somewhere from another blogger that she went directly to him at his office in Wellesley(?) for the same procedure at the same cost.

I am interested in the financing of EVERYONE as stated in their add....if anyone is actually real out there, could you tell me what happens with the financing part? The consultation by phone was beyond vague, it was secretive as to cost and financing..my credit is lousy.. any answers would be appreciated!

Hi Madre,
I am 62 and have been waiting for this to be done with just a local. I must say I was quit concerned after finding this site, and considered cancelling, but kept looking for info on the Boston clinic and Dr. {edited}. Finding positive feedback let me to your e-mail, what good infomation, people really need to talk to people. I haven't found any negative feedback on Dr. Fechner and am scheduled 6/07. It was a 3 month wait but I hope worth it. I am still concerned with scaring/ and I dont't see any photos with the hair up or back?

Hi Ruth,

I have a very fine chin incision where I had lipo done. It isn't really that noticeable because its where the chin creases. Makeup covers it sufficiently. The scars in front of my ears are tiny fine lines and are pink; but look great and just need a little makeup on them. The scarring behind my ears is thicker down by the lobe but my husband stated that it is hardly noticeable unless you were looking there. I have long hair and haven't worn it up yet because of the slight swelling in front of my ears running halfway to my chin on both sides. Its has produced a dent on both sides different in shape. Everyday they do go down but its minimal. Its going to be 6 weeks tomorrow since I had the procedure. I am told that it will eventually go down but it frustrates me that it is a slow process. People tell me I look great and just think I lost weight. One tip I do have is that it seems when I drink alcohol (usually Friday or Saturday nights) the next morning the swelling seems increased slightly. So I would advise not drinking until the swelling goes down. I will keep you posted about the swelling and just remember: everyone heals differently.

I have inquired about the finacing at the Boston office. If you are interested, They recommended CareCredit and you can find it on the internet and apply or see if you are approved. Good Luck!

I have scheduled appt with Dr. Fechner in August. There is so much controversy on line, however, I have not read anything negative with regard to Dr. Fechner. He was also honest about the down time. Up to 10 days. He is doing mine in his Worcester office.

Hi Katy - I am scheduled with Dr. {edited} for consultation in June; possibly lsl if August. Do you still feel positive about it? How is the swelling, numbness and recovery at this point? I am mid-50s (who can believe it?!)and need attention mostly to the neck area.

I am scheduled for the "lift" on Tuesday, August 7. I think that i am chickening out. It is 2 days away and I don't think I'll go through with it. I found Dr. {edited} very cold and not compassionate at all. I had some concerns about my increased heart rate with the addition of adrenaline to the local anesthetic. He just didn't seem to care about how I felt. Di anyone expreience the rapid heart rate and what medication did you receive for relaxation?
Please help me to decide.

Madre - I feel that I still look stretched around mouth, but not necessarily in a bad way!... I'm swollen in cheek area and a little swollen under ears. Makeup hides it all well. How are doing now, 4 months out ? I also had Dr. {edited} - who I was very happy with.

Can anyone tell me how long the results are supposed to last? Is it a permanent fix or do you have to keep returning for "fine tuning"? I can't seem to find any information on this.
Thanks.

Hello All - I had my neck done (lipo and lifestyle lift) plus an eyebrow lift in early August, 2007, by Dr. {edited} at his Worcester office. It was an experience, with definite timeframes. By that I mean the first 2 days were a bit of a blur - I was bandaged for 24 hours, then had quite a bad headache and neckache (at the back of the head) for the next day or so. I think the headache was due to the brow lift procedure. After the first 2 days, the headache/neckache subsided and I only felt sore around the cheeks & ears. The first week was spent inside, tending to my bruising and incisions. My bruising was more heavy than most because I threw up the first night. I was given anti-vomiting medication, but forgot to take it. (Vomiting produces more bruising because the action pushes blood towards the skin.) I tried to cover the bruising for days 8-11, but it was noticeable. I returned to work on day 12, and was ready to, but used cover-up for a few days, and the bruising subsided quickly that week. It has now been 22 days, and I have nearly no bruising. I still use arnica montana gel, which helps with bruising and soreness. There was no "pain" with this operation but quite a bit of soreness, especially behind my ears, and I still have that soreness. I do still have minimal swelling in front of each ear, but it is slowly subsiding. It's not noticeable to anyone but me. The stitching around the ears is barely noticeable, and the stitching for the brow lift (at my forehead hairline) is noticeable IF you look for it. I think two weeks of sick leave works well.

I am extremely pleased with the results, as is everyone. My husband said it was worth every penny and is still pleasantly startled when I walk into the room. My neck went from very saggy and lax to firm and natural looking. The brow lift produced more of an effect than I anticipated. I now have nice eyelids, my brows are in a better position and I don't have a lined forehead. Most people notice my more-open blue eyes before they mention my neck. Many have said it has taken 15+ years off (I am 57). I would definately do this again and would certaily use Dr. {edited}. His office is superb.

Any info on Dr. Alex listed in Boston or Waltham, MA? He is another one on the list. I have been told he is far better than his partner. Dr. Fechner. Still researching. Still noone with a reaction to the adrenalin???
Thanks

I am scheduled for the LSL on Tues. August 7, just 2 days away and I'm chickening out. I found Dr. {edited} (Waltham, MA)to be very cold and not compassionate in the least. I have a concern about the adrenalin in the local anesthetic causing my heart to race. Did anyone experience this? What medication were you all given for relaxation? I seriously think I will cancel.

I am one of the "lucky few" who has now had the LSL TWICE. The first time was last December, when I had upper and lower eyes, LSL, and lipo to the throat done. After the initial swelling subsided, I was thrilled with the new me.

About 6 months after the surgery, the right side of my face let go and sagged again, leaving me lopsided. I met with Dr. {edited} again, who advised me to wait it out for more healing to take place. A couple of months later, the left side of my face let go, giving me back the matched set of jowls I'd started with, along with the marionette lines. I also noticed that there was a good deal of loose skin under my jaw. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper.

Once again, I met with Dr. {edited} at the LSL office in Waltham. After some discussion, he agreed to redo the LSL (at their cost), but advised me that the loose skin under my jaw was also muscle sagging, which would require a neck lift to remedy. I agreed to this, at a cost of $1,000.

As had been the case the previous time, I asked for and was given the first possible cancellation ... just a week later. (There are ALWAYS folks doing the last minute chicken dance, so this is the best way to get in QUICKLY ... and have less time to chicken out yourself.)

It has now been 2 weeks since my second surgery. I am still quite swollen and the bruises are evident unless I wear make-up, but my jawline looks infinitely better. Having had such a "crashing" disappointment last time, I am not yet ready to call it a success. I want to say that this type of outcome can happen to ANY cosmetic surgeon, and any one of them who claims that he's not done work over is either a complete novice or is not being truthful. After all, they are working in human flesh, not stone or steel.

I did research on Dr. {edited} before the first surgery, and would not hesitate to recommend him to others. What I would NOT recommend is having the work done at a LSL office. The reason for this is that, under the LSL corporate policies, the docs are limited to specific medications and specific doses. In essence, they are prevented from having the ability to meet their patient's specific needs, as they arise.

I had a problem with the meds BOTH TIMES. Last year, they were giving a shot of Versed (if you've had a colonoscopy, you've probably had this in combo w. Demerol), then doing the novacaine injections. The Versed knocked me out for most, but NOT ALL of the work being done. I have far too much recollection of the LSL on one side, as well as the lipo. I begged for more medication, but was told that it could not be given, and that the reason that I had broken through was that I was having so much done at the same time.

Before the most recent surgery, I was told that the Versed is no longer used. Instead, I was given a small pill to swallow, then a crushed up pill to put under my tongue. They also gave me another medication to get my BP down. I don't know which is which, but they were Clonidin, Hyroxin (aka Atarax), and Triazolam (aka Halcion). The meds did NOT kick in before the shots started. There are a LOT of shots & they are PAINFUL. I finally "passed out", and work commenced. I have no recollection of the LSL work being done, but woke to find that the Platymaplasty was ongoing and my pain was NOT under control AT ALL. I could not stop myself from crying as surgery continued and no more meds could be given under the "corporate policy".

The bottom line here is that I think you would be better off going to Dr. {edited}'s Worcester office, where HE is in charge of what meds are given.

To add to what others have said re recovery: Plan to be zoned out on pain meds for at least 3 days. I tend to develop allergies to opiates after that sort of time frame, and then have to switch to just XS Tylenol. Unless you don't care what others think (and I really don't!), you'll probably want to stick close to home for 2 weeks. Before you have surgery, you might want to invest in some Covermark make-up!

I am age 54, fair skinned, former smoker.

Sorry for writing a book here!

I am also thinking of a LSL w/ Dr. {edited} but only for my neck. I am 50 but my neck makes me look at LEAST 5yrs. older and is only getting worse. Premature "turkey neck", from Mom. While my face isn't perfect, I don't feel I need a facelift at all. My face looks several years younger than 50!! Did anyone do (or plan to) just the neck? Any idea of the cost of the neck only? Thanks.
