Blurred vision after Botox

By tamara1980 on 10 Aug 2008

Can vision be affected from Botox going too deep or too much injected? It's been almost a week, had 20 units in each area, and since then it has been really bad. I was soooo swollen like a fish all over and had a bad migraine. Worse though is my vision is blurry. I wonder if I should see an ophthamologist or neurologist. I am an employee of the medspa that had an untrained doc do this, and I have no insurance :(

I had Botox injected a week ago. A week later I experienced blurred vision. It has not gone away. It's worse when I am in the sun and when I walk. I went to the eye doctor today. The doctor said my vision is 20 20 and they don't see anything wrong. It is extremly frustrating. Is there anything I can do ?

After 5 weeks it finally started going away. I thought it was going to drive me insane...I tried everything, eye patch, several kinds of eye drops, ice , massage the eye. Unfortunetly nothing worked. All you can do is wait it out. It still isn't 100 percent but much better. Hang in there , I feel for you...

I had botox injectections 2 weeks ago and have strange vision and a slight pressure over the bridge of my nose almost like what you would get when you are ill. It is a very disoriented feelling that is frustrating!

I have had blurred vision for fourteen months now - since Botox injections in forehead. The blurry vision seemed tolerable at first and then I had a sudden episode while driving where I could not read the speed limit signs on the side of the road. This sudden change of vision was accompanied by a severe sharp pain which went up the back of my neck. I went to the eye doctor who knew nothing of Botox side effects but I learned that I basically was producing NO tears and that my vision was so bad that I was just about at the "illegal to drive" stage. My last eye exam six months prior to Botox showed that I had 20/20 vision so the change was dramatic and extremely upsetting not to mention confusing. I got glasses and eye drops in hopes that they would improve my vision but they didn't help and my vision only got worse. Six months later - (now at fourteen months) I've just seen another eye doctor. Although I am producing more tears my eyesight has deteriorated and now it is illegal for me to drive without glasses. I had to get a totally new prescription after only six months and I find that they may help me one day - and do nothing to help the next.

I too received a botox treatment about 2 weeks ago, I have had botox injections for many years but never around my eyes. I have blurred vision the provider that I've had do all my injections insured me it could NOT be the botox! Well a ED visit, a reg eye dr visit, a reg doctor visit, cat scan and an eye specialist we finally came to the conclusion it is indeed the botox!! OMG never again this is so annoying not to mention expensive and scary!!!
