Belly button closing after Tummy Tuck

Has anyone had to have the z plasty surgery after noticing their belly button closing?  I am 9 months post op and noticed it closing every day.  I wish I would have done something sooner, like put an earplug in as I was told I should have done after the fact.  Well my PS gave me a cortisone shot this past week and I was told to come back in three months and see if I need another, it can take up to 3 times.  Now Im not so sure as the PS on this forum states once it is closed it wont open.  I am calling my PS to see what I should do, I dont want to wait months to find out I make it worst.
