How bad was the pain

I am post op day 1 an I must say I thought it would be worst not painful just uncomfortable.

I am terrified! I had three c-sections, and have significant scar tissue, and did I say I am terrified! My surgery is scheduled for April 5th, Dr. Hovsepian in LA I live in Palo Alto and I am concerned about the distance. I know it will be fine, but the pain issue! I am so afraid.

Everyone is different but I found the pain to be very manageable. I only needed pain pills the following day and then found they weren't necessary. Discomfort more than pain. But you can always take the pain pills longer if you need them. Sleeping was the worst part, not so much for pain, but trying to actually get comfortable to get some sleep. I piled up pillows under me to have a soft surface. Good luck!

the pain was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I am 2 weeks post op today. I definately needed the pain pills for about 4 days but after that, I didn't even take a Tylonol. Sleeping in a Lazyboy helped me alot . Every day, I feel a little better. Don't stress about the pain. As long as you take your pain meds, it's not that bad. It was not nearly as bad as giving birth to 4 large babies for me.

DONT STRESS!! I was freaked out after reading all the horror stories of pain. I had an extensive TT & muffin top removal & boob job all at once, i have very low pain tolerance & i have to say, ive had no major pain and minimal swelling. lots of weird burning sensations, but thats it cause everything is numb still.. but LIVE in your coomression garment & start stoll softners like the day of surgery.. i didnt poop for like 6 days

I'm 3 days post op, and honestly the previous two days were WAY worse. Today i feel good - still stiff and achey, but the majority of the pain has gone down. It's been said above, but do stay on top of your stool softeners. It doesn't seem like a big deal but if you end up backed up for a few days on top of swelling it will make your pain and nausea worse. Prune juice and stool softeners are your friends! And hang in there, the first few days are supposed to be the worst part and it all gets better from there :)

Yes day 2/3 hurts the worst but like everyone said take your pain meds. Tip: when rolling off your bed use your arms, roll of your sides and use arms not ab muscles. For the first month or so you will feel like you are walking hunch back or like you did a billion sit ups; don't worry it will go away.

Just know that the pain meds are there for a reason. Stay in top of the pain by taking your meds when you're supposed to and you should have an easy recovery. Good luck! I'm sure you'll love the results!!

Personally, I think the lipo hurt much worse than the TT. I am 18 days PO and haven't really had any pain associated with the TT. I believe part of it is because your tummy is pretty numb for quite a while afterwards. I won't lie, I thought the first two days were hell. But after that, it just seemed to get so much better. Stay on top of your pain meds and stools softeners, and you will do great!

The muscle repair is the part that hurts, so there's were it differs from c section recovery/pain-wise. It was never really painful for me, except the first couple days getting in and out of a hotel bed...I was MUCH more comfortable when I got home to my lift recliner. I took my pain meds every 4 hours, never missed, never was even late; I was too afraid to not take them, bcuz of the "excruciating" pain I read about. Everyone is different, but the pain was definitely not as bad as I expected and was more uncomfortable than painful most of the time. You can definitely handle it and any pain or discomfort you do have will be well worth it!!!

I've never had a c section but I have had a big baby with no meds and natural childbirth is *way* worse!! I am PO day 7 and my pain never got over a 5 or 6 out of 10. Days 1 & 2 were the worse, then its mostly just sore. I stopped pain meds late day 2/early morning day 3. It is differant for everyone though! Good luck!

You can handle it with rest and appropriate pain meds. It hurt more than a c section but it is worth it in the long run.
