Bad Infection could it be Flesh Eating Bacteria??????

By brandi11 on 13 Jun 2012

Hi, I had breast reduction 15 days ago.  On my last visit to my PS which was yesterday, my incisions from the nipple down to the "T" area and across the bottom are red and warm and are oozing with pus.  I have a little drainage on the pads but it looks awful.  My PS said  "I don't like the way this looks, it looks like a bacterial infection and you were looking so good last week"  He asked if I had taken any hot baths or been in the hot tub,  I told him no, however I did sit outside in the sun for about an hour a couple of times and I did sweat alot, but came in and took a shower.  He said I don't know, I am not sure why this is happening.  He put me on Cipro for 10 days and a prescription for Silvadine cream to apply each time I shower and change my dressing.  I do have pain and itching in that area, and I have liitle blisters on my breasts that look like they have popped and are raw looking.  It feels raw, sore and itchy.  Has anyone else had anything like this happen before?  Of course with all the "flesh eating bacteria" in the news lately, I am of course worried.  He did not take a culture, and I truly believe he is an excellent surgeon.
