BA Surgery With Hyperthyroidism?

By tinadesoza on 07 Jul 2012

Hi , I am Tina my BA was scheduled for July 24 but I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and My TSH level is 0.01 and T4 and T3 are very high T4 > 7. So my endocrinologist suggested to postpone the surgery and given methimazole 20 MG daily for next 2 months and going to do the Blood test Every 3 weeks for next 2 months. Is any one has occurs with this issue and how much time do i need for surgery as per your experience

The blood work that I always get once a month is to check my THS ,through the years the doses have changed,i was on 150mcg's sand now last month my level was lower so they downed my level to 112mcg's I've gotta get blood work again on Friday, but I think that you will do fine as long as you keep taking your medicine daily, I'm going to be posting my journey through my BA this week, my computer is down so I'm only able to post messages and not post any photo's, but I will have my computer's network fix the router ,so you ladies can feel free to check out my profile by Friday the latest !! Your in my prayers for a safe BA and able to get to achieve your desired looks, and I'm also praying that you ladies have a quick and pain free recovery!!! God Bless

Hope you doing well. Its good to know that
Apparently my PS and family doctor chatted today to figure out exactly what bloodwork was needed and I will have it drawn tomorrow. Speedy healing to you.

I have hypothyroidism and I've had it for a couple of years, I'm currently on 112mcg's of Levothyrocin, my BA is in just an hour from now, my doctor gave his approval and him and my PS have discussed my surgery and they are both comfortable with it, I'll update and let you know how everything goes , Good Luck with BA , God Bless

I am sorry I am in a similar situation. Scheduled for BA on 7/31/12 and had initial bloodwork done and now needing a thyroid level test done...but my family doctor has benn following me as two + years ago I was diagnosed with several nodules growing on my thyroid. Ultrasound and biopsy found no cancer but I take a low dose medication to keep the nodules from growing. I had a question as to how thyroid output affects recovery in BA cases.
