Can anyone help please, I'm wearing a bikini for the first time on my holiday to Portugal later this week, I have no feeling around my belly button and am worried about it burning in the sun, can anyone make any recommendations on how to avoid it burning, or advise will it burn more as there is some scaring, obviously I will be wearing sun cream but wondered if I need to do anything else ? Thanks in advance

One year later and I've had an amazing journey, I also still have some numbness and swell a little but these small negative are far out weighed by how I feel. I feel great,in fact I feel amazing, I love my new body and love buying clothes and even just trying clothes on, everyone tells me how amazing I look and I'm not good with compliments but it is great to hear, it is still a constant battle with my weight but I reached my goal and i am determined not to put it back on and ruin the lovely flat tummy I have. If your thinking about having a TT my advice to you - just do it you'll never regret it, wish I had done it years ago. Hi Tijuana great to hear your also doing so well and loving the new body, im sure youll agree surgery is a massive step but the results have been life changing in a positive way xx

I am loving me again after my TT. My self confidence is through the roof. I would do it again in a flash. I would rather have my scar than the ugly "flap" I had before. It was well worth it. I have healed beautifully , and I would say to anyone thinking of getting a TT, it's a no brainer. Just do it you will never ever regret it..

I'm actually a Sept tucker but looking for some advice from people who have already had their TT. What did everyone use for compression garments post surgery? Any recommendations for a good brand? Been looking at Bella Jane, Marena and Spanx. makemeheal.com has lots of information and options. Any opinions??

Hello I am super swollen when my ch ends on my butt. I'm not sure if it from sitting or lipo but it is really hard and hurts. Is this normal. Also wondering... I have my chandler on my tummy but when you sit down it rides up. Right now it is top on pubic hair and sitting on incision. Is this ok? I have gauze and tape on. Hard to go lower as I would be on thighs on legs. Is this normal.

2 days post op and had my first emotional episode. I just started crying because I was sick of relying on my husband for everything. Other than that I was feeling good. This ch is driving me nuts. It keeps riding up and panicking bc it seems to be touching my incision rather than covering it. My incision is low. Is this normal. I can't seem to bring it down. My butt is also swollen from where my cg stops. So stressful wondering if this is ok. Wish I saw ps sooner than Tuesday.

Hello had a quick question. Had my TT yesterday afternoon. I have 1 drain in. Yesterday at clinic I did not move out of bed as I had a catheder and drained very little. Today at home I am draining 105 in the one. Is this a lot???

Hello, Aug. 3, 2013 will be a year. I had to get my belly button re-done in Jan. because it would not close. I had to pay $75.00 for supplies & the surgery was free. This time my bb is so deep I cannot see inside but I still think it is a little hole there. I am still numb. I still swell up sometimes and do not like that. My scar is not too high but my PS said I could get it down a little more but I think he should have cut me there in the first place. It is probably cheaper for me too just get a tattoo across the scar. My scar & bb is a little dark and brought some bleaching cream from my PS but that went bad. So went to dollar store & got some cheap bleach cream. I put that on after I shower at night and when I wash in the morning, I put merderma on it.

How old is your scar, vet34? If its old enough you can do some laser treatments to lighten and soften. I wouldn't put the bleaching product on it, may make it worse. I personally like silicone products, laser, bio oil and coconut butter. Best to you

Its coming up on a year for me, Aug 2. I am very happy with my results. I wish my scar was a little more fade, but overall its really great. I still have some pain and tightness when I sneeze, cough or laugh too hard. The PS said I am full healed and shouldn't be having that. He cant really give an explanation. But if I have to have a little discomfort every now and then to have such a flat tummy, I guess that is OK. I am going to post some updated pictures that I took around 8 months.

Hi Bees, how the heck you doing, not sure if you remember me, I had mine done May of last year, the pain you are talking about I do not have, I have some numbness which may always be there, but no pain at all, my scar is fading nicely, I have used the Palmers Oil and then a friend of mine makes a natural ointment and I have been using that, I was also lucky enough to get the silicone sheets from my doc for free, yes I know I was lucky, they are expensive, but my doc was great, Im doing great and am doing an exercise program since about last September/October and loving it

Yes I remember you and glad to hear you are doing well! The pain is lessoning thankfully! I need to post new pictures!

Well we are almost a year out ladies! How is everyone? I for one had lipo of my flanks in February. BIG difference and I'm much happier. I did it under local anesthesia with no problems. Saved myself some money and the whole ordeal of going under again, I do want to ask everyone about their scar...anyone have a raised scar? Reddish? I have both and it's driving me crazy! Mine is very very low do I was able to wear a tiny bikini, but damn, it is ugly! I can even find a tattoo artist who will tattoo over it cuz it's raised. I'm afraid to get a revision because it could do it again. Anyone had cortisone shots in a scar before? Does it help? All the topical a, oils, and silicone sheets in the world haven't helped! Ideas please!!!!!!

Wow it has almost been a year!!!! I too have to have a revision. I have one dog ear. My scar looks awesome except where the seroma was but its barely noticeable. I've lost 35 lbs after my surgery. omg ikr!!! I look and feel amazing. But since Ive lost so much weight my PS may want to re-tighten my tummy cause it does kinda hang when i bend over. Uggg we'll see if it's free i will do it. I hope everyone is doing well.

Without seeing it, sounds like they gathered the skin when they stitched you up. Probably only thing left is for them to cut & restitch you. What a bummer. My only compliant is the dog ear on my right, but I refuse to go back to my PS to fix it.

That's awesome!! Congrats in the weight loss!!

Hello, all! How is everyone doing now that we are getting deep into little clothes and swimsuit season? I could't wear a bikini if I wanted to bc my scar is too high on the sides and still very red, but it's no big deal for me. Just being able to wear a tankini without my belly hanging below it is HUGE for me. I need to have dog ears on both sides flattened, but I'm putting that off until the fall, when the weather cools and I'm not outside running around as much. Just like DW, I feel like my thighs have gotten lager in the past year, which is such a weird feeling. I have a friend who's having a TT in August -- on my one year anniversary! -- and I have sent her to this site for info and support. I think of you often and hope you are all doing well.
