Hi - i am wanting to get this procedure done in Atlanta - can anyone fill me in on their experience in Atlanta and which Doctor they used?

I read your comments about your lifestyle lift on the internet. You seemed very forthcoming and honest. Could you explain exactly where your scars are and how they did this lift. I haven't as yet found any before and after pictures of this procedure on the net. Do you know of a website to see these? I live in Athens, Georgia and am thinking of doing something. I am 60 years old and I am ready for a younger face! Thank you for any more info or advice. Sincerely, Shirley White

I had the lsl with lipo/upper eyelids with Dr {edited} on Feb 7th. It is almost 3 weeks and I still have a lot of swelling. I was prepared to be in hiding for 2 weeks-but now it's getting harder to stay in hiding. My one eyelid did not heal as well as the other-so even with makeup the incision is still visible. I am a nurse and going back to work with other nurses will be hard- I think they wlll notice the incision. The actual surgery was not so bad. They gave me a shot of versed before they started the procedure. They did my eyes first. I really don't remember them doing them. I started really becoming aware of Dr. {edited} cutting by my last ear. I also remember him stiching up that ear. It was a little uncomfortable at tht point. As soon as they finished bandaging me up I took 2 Lortabs. After that point I mostly had discomfort not real pain. I had a lot of swelling some brusing. The recovery period for me is really dragging out. I can see a big difference in my neck area. So if things stay put I'll be pleased with the results. At this point though I'm not sure I would do it all over again.

I had the lifestyle lift in Atlanta on Dec. 16. At first I thought I was going to be really pleased with the outcome, but the longer it has been, I am not able to see much of a difference. My neck is sagging again and one side of my face is larger than the other. I am getting really disappointed. Check around before you spend your money. I am so afraid that the surgeon that did my procedure will not do anything when I go back for a check up on March 3rd. Good luck.

I had the lift done 2 yeARS AGO. OFFICE STAFF NOT VERY RESPONSIVE. I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN MY BEFORE/AFTER PICTURES, SO GAVE UP ASKING. PROCEDURE WAS PAINFUL AND LEFT SCARS THAT ARE STILL VISIBLE AND STILL ITCH, NEEDING APPLICATION OF CORTAID CREAM TWICE DAILY. THE SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT IN JAWLINE WAS EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED, AND I WOULD BE HAPPY IF I DIDN'T HAVE THESE SCARS. AS IT IS, PEOPLE STARE AT MY EARS, AND NOT MY FACE.

Hi Margot, Hope you read this. A friend of mine and myself are scheduling surgery with Dr. Franco at this time for the Lifestyle Lift and I have been reading alot about how it doesn't last very long. I was wondering if you are still happy with your surgery and if you had any problems. Thanks Sandy

I am interested if you have had any luck talking to Dr {edited} after your surgery? When I went back for my post-op and told him that I was not as pleased as I had thought I would be, he was a little terse with me. He asked me to put into an email what we discussed that day and when I did I added that I didn't think my results were what was advertised in the Lifestyle literature, he became very excited and replied that he could not help me if I kept talking about the advertising. He had since asked me to come back into the office and if he also sees that my jowls are sagging, he will re-do my surgery. Considering his attitude and my sugery outcome the fist time, I don't know at this point if I want to go back under his knife.

I am considering the lsl and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with John Coleman (also listed on the website)?

what do they do with the extra skin? Does it leave a fold, or do they trim it off somehow?
4/21/07
I had the life style lift done on wed. April 18th. I'm very sore.
if you have any questions, just ask me.
4/22/07
They must trim it off. I had my life style lift done on April 18th so I still have stiches, but they do not feel thick.
4/23/07
Hi and hope you had a good outcome. I am in Middle TN and am considering the LSL. I would really appreciate your thoughts and feelings on the procedure now that you are post op. And which Dr. did your lift? Also, what were your total costs and did you have anything extra done? Don't they charge more if you have your eyes done also? I don't want anything except a little jowl and sagging under my jaw tightened? How are you healing? Can the incisions be covered with hair? Thanks for any input you have. I feel the need for research before tampering with my face.

Today is day 6 since surgery and I am out and about and feeling much better.Surgery took about an hour and Dr. {edited} did it, he is not a warm fuzzy person.... But very good. I meet with him a couple weeks before to let him know what my expectations were and he told me I was expecting too much with what they were doing. I understood and it turned out well. They gave me a shot and I was in La LA land, that was great. when they numbed my face I didn't feel it at all.
I had to call them twice with minor concerns and they got right back to me. The bottom part of my ears are still numb and will probably be that way for some time.I am still swollen, but really not that bad.My hair is long so I will be wearing it in front of my ears for a while. Stitches come out May 2nd. The only real problem is that I don't sleep on my back and my ear area is uncomfortable to sleep on, so I'm not sleeping that great. other wise I am very pleased so far....
Yes the incisions can be covered with hair. Total cost $4,300 I did not do my eyes I am sure I left alot out, if you have any questions, please ask.
4/25/07
sadface,
I hope things workout for you.. Dr. {edited} did my life style lift April 18th, not my eyes only lower area. So far things look good but I am still swollen.. I don't think he has the best personality. I do think he is a good surgen.
Keep us posted

I am going for the consultation on May 2. I have read all of the Dr.s bios and have been thinking that I want Dr.Franco. I want to have the bags under my eyes removed as well as the sagging neck skin. Has anyone had the lower lids done and what was the cost just to get an idea? Also, after the surgery, do you have to have someone drive you home?
4/26/07
I am thinking about having this procedure. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Are u happy with results?
4/26/07
I had my neck and jowls done April 18th, cost was $4,300. Yes you will need soneone to drive you home.
4/26/07
Annette,
Today is day 8 since surgery and so far I am pleased.
If you have any specific quqestions I would be happy to answer them.
5/6/07
I live near Nashville and I'm looking for a local Dr to perform a LSL. Have you found anyone?
5/14/07
What Doctor did your surgery?
5/17/07
I'm having my lsl on May 30 and have followed your comments. I am very worried about the procedure. Have you noticed any disfigurement with your ears and/or ear lobes? What about numbness? I have short hair so I do have concerns about the scarring.
5/18/07
can you please tell who did the surgery on you? how much did it cost you,and why are'nt you happy
5/19/07
Did you have the procedure? I'm scheduled 7-1 and am worried about numb earlobes, etc.
5/26/07
I would not go back to him if I were you. I took care of my mother during her face lift and eye lid lift years ago (I am 51) and there were many complications. I am in the medical field and I checked out her Dr's very extensively. I say "quit while you are ahead". Watching what she went through cured me of EVER going under the knife...electively. I do microderm abrasions, peels and occasionally botox. I am learning to be satisified with the way that I look-eating healhy, excercising, getting rest and taking care of my skin with cosmetics/sunscreen is all the further I will go. Read Dr. Perricone's book on a regime for diet that gives appearance of a face lift. Lots of salmon...it works!
After all, the world is becoming pretty "plastic". I sure with everyone would be as concerned about the inside as they are about the outside. I myself have to constantly remind myself of this importance so I am not just talking about "everyone else" for "I" am included.
GOod luck to you...follow your "gut".

I had my lsl this afternoon with Dr. {edited}. I can't tell yet how my face and neck look because I am very heavily bandaged. I was very shaky after the procedure and for awhile when I got home. I ate some applesauce so that I could take a pain pill. I have been sleeping most of the time since I got home. I was nauseous but Dr. {edited} also prescribed something for nausea so that really helped. I am icing my face and neck. I had an additional procedure that required an incision under the chin to help with the "turkey neck". I also started taking Arnica Montana 30 that I got from the health food store. It is supposed to help with the bleeding, the bruising, and the trauma. I talked to the representative at the office and she said I could take it. I started taking it the day before the procedure. I will say that I was scheduled for my procedure at 1:oo and I had to wait about an hour and half later before things started happening. You may need to prepare to wait.

I am doing my research on Dr. Franco as I am scheduled for my consult and surgery in August with him...now are you happy? Is he well qualified and where did you read his curriculum vitae? I am wanting to make sure this is the right office to do the procedure.
I was told the sutures dissolve and there would not be removal. Understandably everyone is different in the aging and healing process, but I am trying to gather as much info as possible within the allotted time to cancel and get the deposit back. How long was the swelling and how do your incisions look at this point? I believe they stated 7 days and then I would be back to normal. Please advise! Kind regards and I hope you are pleased!

I'm having surgery on Friday, June 8th and I have to say that I scared to death. Dr. Kim will be doing my surgery. Are you still happy and have you had any real problems to speak of?
6/6/07
Cathy, I'm having surgery this coming Friday. Dr. Kim is my surgeon. With each day that I get closer, I get just a bit more scared. Have you had any problems? I start taking the Arnica Montana on Monday. Has it helped any at all? I guess I'm just looking for reasurance before having this done.
6/6/07
Jan,
First of all, be prepared to wait. I found the long wait, the constant infomercial going on the TV, and the room filled with patients very stressful. Also, make sure you have someone there to take you home. When you get home, give yourself several days to take care of yourself and the incisions, and rest. You will not sleep very well for the first couple of nights. I did expect that so I wasn't surprised. I wanted to make sure that I was appying the ice packs regularly to keep the swelling down. I had applesauce ready to eat when I got home so that I could take a pain pill. You won't be able to open your mouth very much for a few days (and you won't be very hungry). Have soft foods handy. I took the Arnica religiously. I also applied Arnica gel to my face and neck. I have still been swollen and bruised but I honestly can't say if it would have been worse without the Arnica. I'm still taking the Arnica Montanta pills and applying the gel. Because I teach, I did not have to go back to work so I have been able to rest and follow all of the directions on the post-op sheet. I quit taking the pain meds 2 days after the surgery and have only taken Extra-strength Tylenol as needed. I'm still numb, the swelling is gradually going down, and the bruising is slowly disappearing.
I am going to have Dr. {edited} look at me tomorrow (1 week after the surgery) just to make sure I am healing correctly. I know some other people have commented on Dr. {edited}'s personality, but that did not bother me. He did take care of the problem areas. What will truly make a difference to me is seeing the long term effects (the scarring and the numbness). You will have to wait 14 days to get the stitches removed. My incisions go in front of my ears, around the back of my ears, and almost take a right angle into my hair line. I also have another incision under my chin to get rid of the "turkey neck". My incisions seem to be healing up well. You will feel tired. I'm still not up to my full energy level. I wish you luck. Please let me know how you do. Let me know if you have any more questions.

i also live in atlanta and went for the free consult today. they neglect to inform you that the doctor does not even appear in the consult room. you only see him after putting 10% down. you are left alone to watch an infomercial for 25 mins. and then a white coated "physician's consultant" sits you in front of a mirror, pulls your jowls back and says: "this is how you will look...it will cost $4000 if you pay a deposit before the end of the month as they are having a SPECIAL...." i actually found this price to be quite reasonable. i was quoted MUCH MORE from a famous atlanta plastic surgeon.
obviously this is how they keep their costs down to a minimum. having had a full face lift many years ago, i know what to expect and am hoping to schedule my surgery soon. my one and only concern is that the doctor MUST be a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. i was assured that in the atlanta office all three doctors were.

I'M OUT IN CALIFORNIA AND I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT THESE STORIES SCARE THE HELL OUT OF ME. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT IN LATE JUNE AND I'M PRETTY SURE I'M CANCELLING. THE PART THAT REALLY SCARES ME IS POSSIBLE SCAR FACTOR. I HAVE A TENDENCY TO HEAL "KELOID" (DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS THE RIGHT SPELLING, BUT IT IS PURPLISH PINKISH PUFFED SCARS). THAT IS ALL I WOULD NEEED....MY FACE WOULD BE EVEN WORSE....THOUGHT ALL SCARS WERE HIDDEN, BUT I READ ABOVE THAT SOME SCARS ARE IN FRONT OF THE EARS. THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR INPUT.
6/17/07
KK,
My lsl surgery was 2 1/2 weeks ago and the surgeon did an excellent job with the stitching up of the incision. The scar in front of my ears is barely noticeable. I am using some cream that I got from my dermatologist. It is supposed to help with the scarring. The incision in front of my ears follows the fold line that is already there. If you do have a problem with scarring, though, you will definitely have to take that into consideration. I still have some numbness, but that is slowly going away. I think the biggest misconception about the lsl is that you will walk out of the office looking great and can go back to work right away. You will need to give yourself time to rest and recover.
6/19/07
hi...who is the famous atlanta plastic surgeon you mention? I would like to know who is the best in Atlanta.

I am considering DR FRanco for my lifestyle lift and would like to see the scaring left on someone around the ears. Does anyone have pictures they can share.
6/27/07
I have been reading some of the comments on another site about the lsl and it said that if you have the lipo under the chin you will have to wear a bandage around your head for a month. Is this true? I want to have the lower lids, lsl, and fat under my chin removed. I am considering Dr. Franco for the procedure. I would love to hear from anyone as to the post-op procedures.
Thanks

Well in 2 weeks from today I will have my LSL with Dr. Franco and was wondering if anyone who had their surgery recently was doing well and happy with the results. I am a little nervous about the whole thing at this point but also excited at the prospect of getting rid of this loose skin. Has anyone had their lower lids done with the LSL and how much extra is it for the lower lids? Thanks to anyone who has had this done and can give me some insight and tips. Thanks Sandy
7/2/07
According to the post-op directions, you must wear the wrap constantly for the first 24 hours. Then for the next 4 days you can take it off to eat and shower only. After that you wear it at night only for the next 30 days.
7/2/07
Cathy,
Thank you for your response. I am scared to death about my up coming surgery but excited at the same time. I am hoping all goes well......
7/6/07
Well one week from today I will have the LSL done by Dr. {edited} and I am freaking out at some of the stories I have been reading. I saw 2 ladies that Dr. {edited} had done and they both looked fine to me but then I read on here where they just about cut your ears off. Anyway am scheduled for surgery next Thurs and guess it's too late to change my mind at this point but someone please give me some positive feedback on this if you can. Thanks Sandy

I did not have an LSL. I did have a "mini-lift". From living here and from participating in other plastic surgery discussion boards, I can tell you that if you use an LSL doc in ATL, the best choice will be Franco. He does have the best overall reviews and outcomes.
As for an LSL lasting 10 years or ANY mini-lift lasting that long, THEY WON'T. Most REPUTABLE docs say that any mini-lift lasts from 3-7 years depending on the type of lift and the procedure (SMAS, etc) used. Even a traditional face lift with deep plane undermining is not likely to last 10 years. You continue to age, your skin continues to sag, aging progresses normally. You will likely always look younger than your chronological age, but another procedure will be needed eventually if you want to continue looking youthful.
Do not go into a mini-lift expecting results from a 1-2 hours procedure that takes a normal procedure (full face lift) 4+ hours to accomplish. If that was the case there would be no traditional face lifts performed and EVERY DOC in the WORLD would be doing mini-lifts because they could quadruple their volume/business! Be reasonable and logical in your expectations and you won't be disappointed. Expect too much and expect to be disappointed.
My mini-lift has no visible scars, whatsoever. My scars are behind my ears and minimal. My jowls are gone and my results are very natural. I was not promised the moon and I did not get the moon. I got what I expected. The cost? $4500. So, it is possible to have a mini-lift that accomplishes what the LSL does with no visible scars.
Good luck. Research your doctor. Ask for before and after pics and ask for pics of patients at 1-2 years, post-op. If a doc is willing to show you multiple pics that far out, they can be trusted. Don't let them tell you they do not follow patients that long, they do.
7/20/07
I am very interested in the mini facelift. What doctor did you use in Atlanta? Do you have before and after photos that you can share?
7/30/07
Well, I'm scheduled with Dr.Franco in 10 days and I'm pretty nervous. Any more feedback from those of you who had the surgery this summer with him or others in the Atlanta office?
7/30/07
Sandy,
How was your LSL and how has your recovery been?
Mine is August 10 and I'm more than a little nervous!!!
Any news about your experiences would be much appreciated.

HBB, I had the lift done on July the 12th with Dr. {edited} And I am doing o.k. after week 3. My girlfriend and I went together and she had the lower lift and neck lipo. I only had the lower face done. I will have to tell you they no longer give you the shot as Of July 1st which nobody told us until we had taken the Valium. That just really freaked me out and the shots to numb my face hurt like the dickens or maybe I should say they stung pretty bad. I remember Dr. {edited} telling me I had to quit crying. After he got me numb I didn't feel anything but pressure and at one point he told me to quit talking. He did an excellent job on my face and after 3 weeks I am much improved. I went back to work after 2 weeks and I work lifting a lot of weight. My friend stayed out a week but she works in an office. Unfortunately I developed a staph infection right after surgery but didn't realize that it was staph until a week after the surgery. Dr, {edited} had me e-mail him some photos and has had me on tetracycline now for 2 weeks. I can't complain about his after care as he has been in constant touch with me either by e-mail or phone. Everybody says I look great and when you see the before and after you can tell a big difference but it has only been 3 weeks so we will see.
My girlfriend didn't have any problems at all and I guess it all depends on how well your immune system is before you have it done as to how you heal. I still have some swelling after 3 weeks but it is getting better everyday and I don't regret having it done but I would consider going to Dr. {edited}'s private practice to have it done again or if and when I decide to have my eyes done. I was really upset to find out we weren't getting the shot in the arm. I also thought this was going to be a walk in the park but it is surgery. There wasn't much pain afterwards. I only took the psin pills for a couple of days and then I took one at night to help me sleep on my back. I think you will be very happy with Dr. {edited}. He is a good surgeon and he has taken very good care of me. Hope this helps ease your mind about having it done. Let me know if you have any other questions? Sandy

I just went for my initial visit at the ATL office, and now realize I've done this backwards. If I had visited this site BEFORE, I would have had more and better questions. I did not allow myself to be pressured into leaving a deposit, so can anyone tell me if you were also told in this office you would get a discount on the cost good only that day if you paid your deposit? I don't like that pressure. I'm more concerned about the procedure now, so I'll keep researching until I decide. I do want to know if you had your mini-lift here in GA and with whom. I'm beginning to lean more towards this than LSL so need as much info anyone has. Would like to talk to people 2+ years post lift. This is supposed to improve my image, thus my life, so it's a hard decision. Keep the comments coming

Mimi,
I had a LSL with Dr. {edited} on August 10 so I am three days post-op. To answer your question about pressuring you for the deposit, yes, they did that to me also. BUT, I had already had two consultations with "regular" cosmetic surgeons in my hometown (not Atlanta) and this seemed to be the best option for me because of the quicker recovery time. One plastic surgeon was going to charge $6500 and the other (whom I hated...wouldn't let him cut my grass!!!) would charge
$5500. Both the others required 10% deposit when you booked the date for your surgery, so it's not that much different. It's best to do your research and consult several doctors before you make the decision. Good luck and let me know if you decide to go with LSL and have questions about the procedure and recovery. Oh, and if you do, I highly recomment Dr. {edited}. He did mine and is the most experienced, patient and has a nice personality.
8/20/07
I have a consult on Sept. 9. Have you had the surgery done and if so can you tell me how you feel about the results. After reading the comments I am getting a little nervous. Also, if you had the surgery can you tell me if the comments regarding never seeing the surgeon until the surgery and then never again are true. Thanks!
9/3/07
I ALSO WENT TO LSL, AND THOUGHT I WAS SEEING A DR. WAS DISSAPOINTED.
I HAD SURGERY BY A WELL KNOWN DR IN HWD FL AND AM VERY UNHAPPY. HE PUT BIG STITCHES DOWN MY NECK ONE SIDE WAS REDDER THEN THE OTHER AND NOW THE OTHER SIDE IS SORE ANS RAISED BUMPS. AND THEY BOTH ITCH AND PINCH AND PULL MY NECK 4 DAYS AFTER SURGEY FEELS LIKE I AM WEAR ING A RUBBER TURTLE NECK.IT ALL PULLS TIGHT. I HAVE BEEN BACK TO HIM AT LEAST TEN TIMES AND NEVER GAVE A EXPLANATION OF THE NECK, BUT THE SMILE LINES WERE NEVER PULLED UP DIDN'T STITCH INFRONT OF THE EARS AS 3 OTHER DRS SAY THEY DO HE DID BEHIND, SO WHEN HAIR IS UP OR BACK YOU SEE THE AWFUL SORES. AM SO UNHAPPY AM GOING TO AN ATTY. $9,000.00. I WISH I HAD MORE INFO BEFORE. I KNOW EVERYONE DOESN'T HEAL LIKE EVERYONE BUT, THIS IS AWFUL.
9/4/07
I had my lift done on 2/14. today 9/4, my lift is starting to fall. It is not worth the $5,000 I paid. The eylift was terible -- one of my eyes does not close right. Would notrecommend it
9/4/07
Also, it took me almost 10 weeks to recover
9/10/07
Hi Sandy,
Hope you are feeling better and are happy with your LSL. I am scheduled for my procedure on Tuesday, 9/11/07, with Dr. Coleman in the Atlanta office. I am becoming very concerned (terrified!!) after finding this and other forums and reading about so many negative experiences. I am also wondering why no one has mentioned using Dr. Coleman. I really was undecided between Dr. Franco and Dr. Coleman and I just basically chose Dr. Coleman because the counsultant said he would be in the next day (Saturday) and I could come meet and discuss any concerns, etc. He seemed very professional and I liked his overall personality but all that really means very little when what I'm looking for is the best facial plastic surgeon. If there is anything you can share with me regarding the office, Dr's, and how you are doing after your infection, I would be very grateful.
Pamela
9/10/07
Would love to hear how you are doing after your LSL in Atlanta with Dr. Franco. I am scheduled on Tuesday, 9/11, with Dr. Coleman in Atlanta and I am beginning to feel very anxious and considering cancelling. Have you heard anything about Dr. Coleman? I can't believe that no one has mentioned him on this forum. I'm not sure what that means? Sure hope you are thrilled with your LSL -- hope you can reassure me in some way. Thanks
9/10/07
Hi Avery,
I'm wondering what your decision was on the LSL. Did you have the procedure done in Atlanta? I am scheduled for next Tuesday and I am hoping to hear some positive feedback. Thanks.
9/14/07
MY QUESTION IS dID YOU SEE AN ATTORNEY AS I TO HAVE PROBLEMS FROM THE ALMOST 1 YR SURGERY AND AM CONSIDERING SUEING THE DR.
6/5/07
I am considering this procedure in Atlanta, GA. Please share.
10/4/07
Class Action Law Suit anyone??
I am willing to go for it, I have Really bad scars, and not a lot of difference in my face. NOT WORTH IT!!
10/8/07
I had the lifestylelift about a year and a half ago in Atlanta by Dr. {edited}. Although during the procedure I thought at times it was pretty intense, overall I am completely satisfied with the results. The only part I believe is a bit misleading is that you don't walk out of their with a bandaid and go back to work. It took me a couple of days before I felt comfortable going out.
10/8/07

Do you have any information about a class action suit going forward against Lifestye Lift? I had a horrible experience and might like to join in any action. Please reply to my personal email. I'm not sure if it shows in this message. If it doesn't, it's {edited email address}

I'am having a LSL on Jan 24 with Dr whitiker can anyone give me some feedback about her?
1/20/08
My mother had a LifeStyle Life with Dr. {edited} at the end of December. Although I did not think my mom, who is 64, really needed this procedure, she did get it done. Overall, she is happy except her the difference in her eyes is not as much as she had expected. I can tell the biggest difference in her cheeks and neck---you can definitely tell the skin is smoother.
The biggest issue I have with these people is that they really don't stress how invasive this all is upfront---I think if my mom had known what she knows now, I am not sure she would have done it even though she is healing up very nicely. Just watching people come in and out...it seemed like they were more focused on quantity and not quality...I did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling that the doctors really cared and knew their patients. I am only 36, so I have a different perspective I guess, but I felt like they were just preying on people who came in there as I sat in the waiting room for over 6 hours (see below).
Here are some things to know:
1. Do not plan on going anywhere for 2 weeks---the swelling and bruising are more substantial than they tell you upfront. You will also need someone to drive you to and from the surgery. You also need someone for the first week to help you apply your 2x daily antibiotic and peroxide treatments. Also insist ahead of time they show you how to apply the head wrap---it is much harder than it looks!
2. Know that these people overbook big time. My mom was supposed to have her procedure at 10:00AM; she did not even go back until 12:00, and they did not start until 1:30. No one told me this, and at 3:30, I was frantic. I finally found out what was going on. We left at 4:00. Ridiculous!
3. This office is horrible about booking appointments and then having you wait for hours. When my mom went for her day after and 1 week follow-up, we had to wait forever. Again, make sure you have someone to drive you---you are not going to feel like it!
4. Double-check and confirm appointments...my mom had scheduled her 2 week follow-up, and when she got there, it was not on the books. The man who was at the front desk was extremely rude.
5. Dr. {edited} seemed fairly nice herself, but I got the feeling she was sort of hurrying through all the follow-up appointments and glossing over a lot of details. She also never mentioned to her the follow up treatment you are supposed to do with the anti-scar cream---she found out from another doctor. I will say that when my mom went back earlier this week, Dr. {edited} seemed to be responsive about the concerns I have raised in this post---they definitely need to stop overbooking and work on their customer service/professional manners skills there.
6. Be very careful about the second round of stitch removal---there is a male nurse who is excellent and did a good job removing mom's first stitches, but the second lady nurse who did mom's actually pulled one that was not ready, and it opened a wound. My mom had to take off work and make an extra HOUR LONG drive down there because of this error.
Right now, my mom says knowing what she knows now, she would not recommend this to a friend; however, she says she will revisit this opinion in three months when more of the swelling has gone day and she has seen a better look of the final result.

From what I understand, you meet with the doctor after your initial consultation. Then you are scheduled for surgery. You can get your deposit back by calling the main office as long as it's 2 weeks before your surgery. It's all in their policy forms.Good luck!
4/7/08
can I ask, how did your procedure go? I, too, am scheduled with Dr. Franco - I admit I'm apprehensive,,, are you satisfied with the surgery and more importantly, would you still do it knowing what you know after the surgery? thank you for responding, and I do hope all is going well with you..
4/7/08
it's April 2008,, and I'm scheduled with Dr. Fanco - are you satisfied/happy with your results and would you recommend the procedure and the Dr.? I'm very apprehensive and would love to hear from you,, t hank you..... hope you're doing well..
4/25/08
Did you get an answer? I paid my $400 deposit and had an appointment with Dr. Franco for the pre-surgery consultation. I started investigating on line if there were any complaints from the procedure and was astonished at what I found. I cancelled my appointment and I will get my deposit back. I would like to know if anyone in the Atlanta area have had good results with their surgery and also any remarks about Dr. Franco. I also checked the Better Business Bureau and Lifestyle Lift has an unsatisfactory rating with them. I just started having bad feelings about the procedure. I wanted to keep the appointment but I just felt after reading all the complaints that I just could not go through with it.

Investigate with other plastic surgeons in the Atlanta area. I think you will find that there are many good doctors out there that will do the procedures for around the same price if not lower. You are paying for "a secret procedure" which is supposedly perfected. My LSL was almost $7000 for eyes neck and mini lift. My eyes are not the same, the cuts are not in the crease and the fat above my left eye is different than my right eye. The paragraph in the contract material that they will redo anything that you are not pleased with is a LIE. My surgery was on 12-5-07 and I am still healing behind my ears. My eyes are very RED and noticeable. It will cost me as much to have my eyes fixed by a plastic surgeon as it originally cost for the surgery. I began complaining from the 2nd week on and they do not stand behind the doctors nor their mission statement. They care much before surgery and very little afterwards. I also want to point out that they use doctors on a "freelance basis" and my doctor NO longer works with LSL in Marietta Ga. I believe that I was mislead in a major way! The recovery time is the same as regular surgery. The only reason that they say recovery is quicker is that you are not put to sleep. You can do the same thing at a plastic surgeons. Good luck to you if you decide to use these people. I have found many good doctors after the fact... doctors that just shake their head when they see my eyes.
4/25/08
No, my LSL was/is a night mare. My eyes are unevenly cut, do not fall in the crease and more fat was left above my right eye so it hangs differently than the left. I had major pain, am still healing (orig. surgery 12/5/07) AND LSL is no longer interested in me as a patient or person. The mission statement is pure bull. They state that they stand behind their doctors and procedures but they do not. They refuse to fix my eye... In fact I was told that they did not have the expertise to fix what they messed up. Does that sound right to you. I wish I had never heard of LSL. I have found many doctors after the fact -- plastic surgeons with real credentials that can operate in hospitals and the cost difference is not that much. Investigate before you jump like I did. I should have shopped around more. AND NO I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS/CUSTOMER NO SERVICE and the doctor, well, just imagine...
4/25/08
He did my eyes and I wish I had never heard of him or LSL's. I have had a horrible experience. First they do not tell you how invasive the surgery is and that they do not stand behind their guarantee that they will fix any mishaps they cause within one year. Total Lie. kept saying he was late for another appt. while he was doing my surgery. Just think it over and really investigate LSL's and compare to other plastic surgeons. I think you will find really qualified doctors in the area that will stand behind what they do.
4/25/08
{edited} did mine and I would not redo it with him if he did it for free. LSL's company do not stand behind their guarantee. Check out some other qualified plastic surgeons in the area. I think you will find that the price difference in miniminal.

Was the doctor Dr. KK???? My surgery was/is a nightmare. My eyes are uneven, the cuts does not fall in the crease of either eye and I am so disappointed that LSL's no customer service. I originally only wanted to have my left eye match my right eye, since he left more fat above one eye than the other. And yes, you can see it. LSL will not stand behind the guarantee of their one year guarantee -- if you are unhappy with the surgery they will redo it. They will not redo it and forget about getting your money back. ALSO, these doctors they use are like freelance artists. They are not full time employees. Some have their own practice. Investigate and check out some other docs in your area before you jump at this "DEAL". You know the old saying... if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. Just one more thing... this rapid recovery they talk about, I didn't find that to be true either. If you want to look better and don't want to feel even worse after your LSL -- don't do it until you throughly invistigate each and every aspect AND talk to the doctor before your surgery. Not the day of when sitting there high on the meds.

I am reading all of these posts on LSL. I cannot believe that they can get away with the advertising they send out. From what I have read on every post, the quick recovery was a major selling point for a lot of women. What they do not tell you is that your recovery is not any quicker if your are put to sleep or not. It may be a wee bit safer but quicker recovery ... not true. I also see that with every woman that had a problem, they have no closure at all. Its like they can do anything they want and get away with it. It is not fair. TO ALL WOMEN CONSIDERING THIS LIFT... check with other plastic surgeons. I think you will find that the price difference between LSL's and other surgeons is minimal. They also do not tell you they overbook, are understaffed and use outside doctors that freelance for them. I wish I had never heard of LSL. If they had only said they would work with me... they made up every excuse under the sun about why one eye hangs differently than the other-- of course each and every excuse is my fault. Yes I am unhappy with LSL, their customer no service and the Doctor that did this to me. I can only warn people. I will tell every person I can reach and hope that If I can SAVE just one person from going through the time, effort and trouble that I have had. Be informed! Check with at least 3 other doctors. In the end it will be worth your time.

Please let me know how this attorney thing goes for you. I am having some of your same issues and I am in GA. I would be very interested in any info you find out. Thanks.
4/25/08
Good Idea!!! How do we do this????
4/25/08
How do we find out about class action Lawsuits against these LSL people????
4/25/08
Better do it quick, you only have one year in some states to sue for malpractice.

I had my first consultation at the Atlanta office, I spent approximately 4 hrs there for a 45 min consultation and did not meet a Dr. They seemed to be very consistent on scheduling my apt. They were very unorganized. While sitting in the waiting room I got a chance to listen to the front desk nurses and staff talk. They were working on their salary, looking over a spread sheet trying to figure out their percentage and how much they were going to make that month. One of them stated "we are taking from the poor and giving to the rich." and they all were laughing. I did report this to the facility, what I received was an apology. I could not get a refund for my deposit. After reading the reviews, I am questioning if this procedure is worth it. If anyone has any information on the Atlanta office, please let me know. I am scheduled for the procedure in a few weeks.

Hi,
Did you get your LSL done by Dr. Franco? How was the procedure, recovery, results. I'm scheduled with Dr. Whitaker next month but don't know much about her.
Thanks
9/29/08
Georgia Gal, You are smart. I am having to pay $6000 to fix the mess they (LSL) made out of my eyes. They never did respond except for a letter that berated me and insinuated that I was mental ill. After seeing 3 specialists I found out that I had a hereditary condition which makes the foreskin on the eyes overgrow with extra fat and obviously the Dr that did my surgery was not use to dealing with. The scars behind my ears are to date still sore and I cannot wear earrings. Oh, and did I say my ears GREW! I would suggest to you to find several plas
