Believe me board certified plastic surgeons screw up badly too. I had breast augmentation and a tummy tuck that ended up nearly killing me because my board certified surgeon was not as well trained as she claimed to be. It took me 10 months to recover and 3 more surgeries to correct the mess. I don't even know why I was considering LSL after my previous experience with cosmetic surgery. I guess we forget the pain to quickly and hope for something better. This site has brought my horrible experience back fresh to my mind. I will not be getting any kind of face lift from LSL or a so called board certified surgeon..they all screw up and I won't take that chance again with my life. Thanks everyone for reminding me. Good luck to everyone who goes forward with this procedure.

I wish I had paid the extra money and got a good plastic surgeon.

Ladies, I think in a nutshell that Carol Painte has summed LSL pretty well!

I had LSL done by Dr. Whitaker in Atlanta and am somewhat pleased. She should have pulled my face back more. She did a wonderful job on my eyes and pretty good on my neck. I slept through practically all of it. The only thing that hurt was the shot on my eyelids but I have been through alot worse. I had very little pain after surgery. I only took two pain pills. I did not bleed much. I have a small pocket on the left side of loose skin but she assures me she will fix it. I'll wait and see. Mine was done in Dec. 09 for 6800. If I could do it over I would go to a plastic surgeon. I don't have scaring except behind my ears like I was promised. They gave me good care during all of it. I think the results depends on the Dr. and the individual. Everybody is different. I am sorry that people did not get what they were promised and are disfigured or still in pain. I am going to see a dermatologist to get some lazer done for small wrinkles around my mouth.Good luck to all and I will pray for you.

I had my lift done on 5/16/2010 by Dr. Whitaker. As a registered nurse I was surprised that I was not examined by her at the initial appointment and found that to be odd. That a proper history and physical was not done. I did not let that bother me so much as I did review her bio education. Well I had the surgery and like the others had this procedure due to the fact that I work a lot and could not have much down time. Well.. I looked like a train ran over me. Absolutely horrible for a week. I am still swollen a month later. Not only that I went back in yesterday as now I have a two large knots on each side of my lower face that stick out and are very noticable. They feel like very hard large fluid filled cysts. I paid almost $7000.00 dollars for the service. When I told them I had problems with my face and went in to the office they went out of their way to hide me and brush me off now that they have my money. Even suggested that I would have to give them more money as I may need to have another liposuction however I have to wait 6 mos. By then they will more than likely forget who I am. I cannot shake the fact on how they treated me in the office. From queen to stranger. I told them that if I knew that if Dr. Whitaker had been that close to delivering her baby I would never had allowed her to operate on me. Even though my neck is a little better, my jowls do not look like they were liposuctioned. I made it very clear that they will correct my face, however I am not so sure. I have been very upset over this. As a medical professional this is even more embarrassing.

Sorry, I got you mixed up with someone else. I also had Dr. Whittaker. She did not pull my face back far enough. She did an excellant job on my eyes and pretty good on my neck but she left a puffed out line on one sidejust under my chin and I have a soft small lump on the left side of my face at the chin line. She says she will fix it but the shots she puts in it does not help. I am going to wait until she goes on maternity leave and see Dr. Franco. She said he will take care of her patients while she is gone . So far I haven't heard or saw anything bad on him. The ones I saw that he did looked fine and no one complained. Actually I guess I was one of the luckier ones. I do know if you have alot of wrinkles LSL will not hack it. I have one deep wrinkle on the side of my face that she could have made look alot better if she had pulled my face back like she promised. I am going to a dermatolgist and see what can be done about that wrinkle but no botox. That wrinkle and puffy place to me stands out like a sore thumb. I am sorry about your problems. I wish I had it to do over. My husband will probably not pay for a real face lift later on when I start to get saggy again. I hardly have wrinkles just saggy skin. I don't know which is worse probably the wrinkles. I paid $6800 for mine in Nov. 2009. Other than the above mentioned, I did real good. I looked bad for awhile but no pain after the first day. I went out a week later all bruised( clear down to my boobs). I told people I had been in a bar room brawl and I won. My Pharmist didn't know who I was. It was so funny. I didn't care what people thought. I have seen some real bad pictures of ladies but they were'nt from here. One lady had a scar in front of her ear that looked like a scar from open heart surgery.I could have done better than that. Dr. called me several times and so did someone from the staff. I was treated real good. If you want to talk again fell free to E-Mail me. I am retired at 59 so I have lots of free time.

Thank you all so very much for your emails. I was searching for info on LSL from the BBB. It didn't have good reviews. This site fell under my search and has had a serious impact on my desion to try the LSL. I have an appointment this Sat at 10:45 which I will cancel and just keep my "mature face". I'd rather have this one than a newer version I hated. Not to mention how badly they misrepresent the procedure. Whew! I feel blessed that I came across this today! Again, Thank you all!

My sister and I had a consultation appt. for 8/19/09, but after reading this site we are cancelling. Made me realize I have enough to deal with in my life than to worry about of few wrinkles and jowls. If I do decide to have a facelift I will pay the few extra dollars to have a "real" plastic surgeon. Thank you all for your honesty and frankness........you saved at least 2 of us from the hell you are going through. I wish you the best ......thanks again

I live in Iowa and was considering the lifestyle lift with a Dr. Micheal Hill. I have read articles, pros, and cons, with more cons than I prefer. Does the LSL really only last for 1 year or so? I would love to hear from someone who had the procedure done for at least a year. Thank you.

McKen, I feel so bad for you. I know that there is nothing I can say to make things better for you but your story helped me out. I am 50 and have the wrinkles from my nose to my mouth. (I used to refer to them as "laugh lines" until I got them.)I saw the commercial, before and after images, and listened to the testimonials, and thought "This is perfect, just what I need." Without your information, I might have found myself in the exact same condition that you are in. Thank you.

Amy...thank you.....I am at least thankful there are those of us out here who are not afraid of LSL lawsuits to warn people about them...............

I am reading all of these posts on LSL. I cannot believe that they can get away with the advertising they send out. From what I have read on every post, the quick recovery was a major selling point for a lot of women. What they do not tell you is that your recovery is not any quicker if your are put to sleep or not. It may be a wee bit safer but quicker recovery ... not true. I also see that with every woman that had a problem, they have no closure at all. Its like they can do anything they want and get away with it. It is not fair. TO ALL WOMEN CONSIDERING THIS LIFT... check with other plastic surgeons. I think you will find that the price difference between LSL's and other surgeons is minimal. They also do not tell you they overbook, are understaffed and use outside doctors that freelance for them. I wish I had never heard of LSL. If they had only said they would work with me... they made up every excuse under the sun about why one eye hangs differently than the other-- of course each and every excuse is my fault. Yes I am unhappy with LSL, their customer no service and the Doctor that did this to me. I can only warn people. I will tell every person I can reach and hope that If I can SAVE just one person from going through the time, effort and trouble that I have had. Be informed! Check with at least 3 other doctors. In the end it will be worth your time.

Hello again Ladies! I am proud to use my name here @ this website and how brave RealSelf.com is to continue to host this web-site after LSL went after them to shut our lips about the service and KIND of doctors they use (or should I say the kind of doctors that would work for them). LSL actually has tried to close the web site by sueing RS.com alleging that we are not real true customers. I have found about 5 sites put up by LSL. All of the clients there are 100% happy. You know what they say. Off the sweat of my brow I saved that money thinking, you know, a lil lift would make me feel better about myself. My bout with LSL was awful, No Customer Service... No Follow Up, NO NOTHING. The fact of the matter is they waited until the last day that they could reply to my BBB posting insinuating that they had done nothing at all wrong. WELL, let me tell you, 5 hours of surgery is what it took by a certified plastic surgeon to fix what Dr. KK did to me. I don't care about the money anymore..., it is long past the money, I wish I could scream it from the rooftops, these people are not qualified to work on little tiny mice much less grown women and men. All the confusing "as seen on NBC, ABC, CBS" (yea, because you paid for advertising), I will say this from my heart. I wish for nothing more than for these people to have to ANSWER to a court of their Peers, let their work be judged on its own merit. I can tell you what I got for the 6300 in cash I spent there, another bill from a real surgeon BUT I am so thankful to him and god that he was actually able to fix what DR. KK did to me. AND LIFESTYLE LIFTS TOO,,, yall kiss my pretty new ears! If anyone wants to speak with me I have much to say.

My mother had a LifeStyle Life with Dr. {edited} at the end of December. Although I did not think my mom, who is 64, really needed this procedure, she did get it done. Overall, she is happy except her the difference in her eyes is not as much as she had expected. I can tell the biggest difference in her cheeks and neck---you can definitely tell the skin is smoother. The biggest issue I have with these people is that they really don't stress how invasive this all is upfront---I think if my mom had known what she knows now, I am not sure she would have done it even though she is healing up very nicely. Just watching people come in and out...it seemed like they were more focused on quantity and not quality...I did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling that the doctors really cared and knew their patients. I am only 36, so I have a different perspective I guess, but I felt like they were just preying on people who came in there as I sat in the waiting room for over 6 hours (see below). Here are some things to know: 1. Do not plan on going anywhere for 2 weeks---the swelling and bruising are more substantial than they tell you upfront. You will also need someone to drive you to and from the surgery. You also need someone for the first week to help you apply your 2x daily antibiotic and peroxide treatments. Also insist ahead of time they show you how to apply the head wrap---it is much harder than it looks! 2. Know that these people overbook big time. My mom was supposed to have her procedure at 10:00AM; she did not even go back until 12:00, and they did not start until 1:30. No one told me this, and at 3:30, I was frantic. I finally found out what was going on. We left at 4:00. Ridiculous! 3. This office is horrible about booking appointments and then having you wait for hours. When my mom went for her day after and 1 week follow-up, we had to wait forever. Again, make sure you have someone to drive you---you are not going to feel like it! 4. Double-check and confirm appointments...my mom had scheduled her 2 week follow-up, and when she got there, it was not on the books. The man who was at the front desk was extremely rude. 5. Dr. {edited} seemed fairly nice herself, but I got the feeling she was sort of hurrying through all the follow-up appointments and glossing over a lot of details. She also never mentioned to her the follow up treatment you are supposed to do with the anti-scar cream---she found out from another doctor. I will say that when my mom went back earlier this week, Dr. {edited} seemed to be responsive about the concerns I have raised in this post---they definitely need to stop overbooking and work on their customer service/professional manners skills there. 6. Be very careful about the second round of stitch removal---there is a male nurse who is excellent and did a good job removing mom's first stitches, but the second lady nurse who did mom's actually pulled one that was not ready, and it opened a wound. My mom had to take off work and make an extra HOUR LONG drive down there because of this error. Right now, my mom says knowing what she knows now, she would not recommend this to a friend; however, she says she will revisit this opinion in three months when more of the swelling has gone day and she has seen a better look of the final result. He did my eyes and I wish I had never heard of him or LSL's. I have had a horrible experience. First they do not tell you how invasive the surgery is and that they do not stand behind their guarantee that they will fix any mishaps they cause within one year. Total Lie. kept saying he was late for another appt. while he was doing my surgery. Just think it over and really investigate LSL's and compare to other plastic surgeons. I think you will find really qualified doctors in the area that will stand behind what they do.

I had the lifestylelift about a year and a half ago in Atlanta by Dr. {edited}. Although during the procedure I thought at times it was pretty intense, overall I am completely satisfied with the results. The only part I believe is a bit misleading is that you don't walk out of their with a bandaid and go back to work. It took me a couple of days before I felt comfortable going out.
