Hi everyone, I had the fraxel repair yesterday, I did extensive research. I have a very high tolerance for pain especially when I feel I will be improved. I also had the artefil filler in my nasal labial folds. Immediatly after the fraxel I felt like I had a major sunburn-I am very fair skin and in my teens and twenties was a sun worshiper. I have had worse sunburns and more pain from the extreme sunburns than with my repair laser.
I put just cut from my aloe on my skin when I arrived home and twice afterward last night. I still have a very minor sun tinghed look on my face, but I can already see a great improvement. I am getting three treatments total, I have two left after my first yesterday. I am looking forward to continued good results. The doctor did tell me that the also new fraxel co2 laser is a one time deal with greater results, I could not get the co2 could not take the downtime off. The doctor I went to was one of the first anywhere around offering the fraxel, he is very busy and very good. I highly recommend the fraxel repair or if you have extreme problem the fraxel co2, I talked with three woman in the office coming back in for a recheck from the co2-they were very satisfied and looked great but did talk about the pain but did say they were happy to have it. I have nothing but good things to say about the repair.
Also I am thrilled with the artefil-expensive but one time, I purchased 6cc and 3cc, the doctor injected the 6cc and will inject the other 3cc after my results peak and we can see the areas that need more. I highly reccommed the artefil becauce it is 'permanet' as apposed to the many other fillers, which I have tried-very short lasting, hope this helps anyone thinking about above, good luck to all. marianne

How much did your artefil cost? I had the fraxel repair done ( the one time co2 laser) & the results are looking good so far. I had it done last wed. so today's mon. & this wed. I go back for my one week check-up.
I had pretty bad naso-labial folds so I dont think they will be any different from the repair & I'm kind of thinking of having a filler in those marionette lines. I never heard of artefil so am curious about it. I paid $4000.00 for the laser treatment & it goes just under my face all around about an inch .
My redness has much improved in the past 5 days & all that real horrible purplish stuff is gone but the sunburned look is there now & there is a definite cut-off place where they did the laser & where my "not done" part shows. Like my neck &
around my eyes where they didnt go right up to the lashes.
Nobody would ever think I had a sun burn like that so I'm hoping they advise some kind of make-up when I go in on Wed.

Hi Marianne,
Are you sure that you had the Fraxel repair? The repair is the CO2 Fraxel treatment. It sounds like you had the restore treatment that involves multiple treatment sessions, and is a milder treatment and recovery. I want to make sure that others are not confused either.
"Permanent" is not always better when it comes to having fillers put in your face. Bio-Alamid”, a permanent" facial filler used outside of the US was reported initially to very safe without any complications. Last week there were reports of late complications. I have practiced for 22 years, and it is an all too common story. Severe granulomas occurred 3-5 years after the previous product, Artecol, had been injected in many patients. The majority of patients are fine, but I would not recommend a product across the board on a site like this just because it is permanent.
Be very wary of any product that promises to be permanent and safe, sometimes reactions do not rear their ugly head until many years down the line. Much good luck and keep us informed.

Hi Edie, I used liquid mineral make-up from Young Blood. Worked quite well. You can still see the "not done" parts but much improved. I purchased at beauty salon, I had used prior to Repair, you can purchase online.
good luck

I'm on the fence about getting Artefill since I'm very sensitive and afraid of a bad reaction - redness or lumps that doesn't go away. Does anyone have an info on the risks? I would be doing it in a clinical trial.
Thanks.
