Arm lift, tummy tuck, and breast procedures all at once?

By pamchica on 12 Mar 2010

I am 27 years old and have recently lost over 80 lbs. I am considering an arm lift, tummy tuck, along with a breast lift/augmentation. I had a consult today with a double board certified surgeon who suggests having all at one time as she does them regularly in her office. I seem confident with her advice, but my mom and dad are a little concerned. Are these regularly combined?

It is perfectly reasonable and common to do multiple procedures at once, especially in weight loss patients. Breasts, arms, and abdomen together make a sensible combination. My biggest concern is the suggestion that this large operation may be performed in an office. This will be a long procedure, certainly longer that the 4 hour maximum that is recommended for outpatient surgery. Does this facility have overnight accomodations? My preference is to perform long operations like this in a hospital using proper precautions against blood clots in the leg veins and PCA (patient-controlled analgesia) for at least the first night. Good luck. I hope you found this information useful.
