Hi,

I went last Monday for my consultation with the PS and he was great. Answered all of my questions and have my full TT scheduled for April 8th! I had gained forty pounds when I was pregnant with my son who is 19 months old now and lost all the weight but my skin is so saggy and I have over a two inch gap between my ab muscles... Can't wait to be brand new again!

I gained a little more than that with my (enormous) son. Wow, it can really do a number on the abs. I'm glad you're able to do this for yourself. Let us know how it goes.

I had an augmentation surgery by this dr ten years ago and since then two of my friends have had that same surgery by this dr and loved his results also. I just can't wait to get into a bikini again. Do you think I will be able to wear a bikini by June if my surgury is April 8th?

We have our surgery scheduled for the same day!!! Good luck! I will certainly post during my recovery & look forward to seeing all of your posts! I am so excited to wear a bikini again! I have the same situation. A saggy skin area. My kids are 9 & 11 though. I just kept thinking, "If I just work out more...." but my skin never went back.

I had mine on the 8th also! My muscle gap was at least 3 inches so she double stitched it. Hope you are doing well. So far so good for me. Have 3 kids, 4, 3, and 1 and my husband and nanny will bring them to me on day 7 post op, until then I am healing on own with family. Hope I will look a bit more normal by then!

Hellow Ladies. This forum is fabulous. I went for my consultation about two weeks ago and will be having TT surgery on April 21st.

I'm 54 years old next week. I'm hoping to get rid of this muffin top. I have two adult kids and now it's time for me to do something for me. I've wanted to do this for years.

I have a few questions about the procedure. The first week after surgery, how often do you have to see the doctor? I know the day after but are there any more visits required that week? I need to make sure my hubby or daughter can take me.
blondiekj 3 Mar 2011
Hi Mixter,

I know my dr. isn't seeing me the day after...wonder if i should worry. I also live three hours from the dr office so that may also be a reason. I am having mine done on a Friday and he wants to see me the week after the TT and then two weeks after for another follow up. Congrats! Time feels like its going so slowly for me!
mixter 3 Mar 2011
Hi Blondie. I wish I were able to have it sooner but because of work obligations, I have to wait till late April. Good luck to you!

I only live about 30 minutes from the surgery center and office so I'm guessing I'll have to go back the day after. Mine is scheduled for a Thursday. I'm taking off the week after and hope that will be enough.

I plan on telling my coworkers that I have to have "girlie" surgery and hope that shuts them all up.

Good luck for tomorrow Mixter - sleep well. Look forward to hearing the outcome.

Thanks, I was asking my dr. about work and he asked that I take off two weeks. He said I won't be able to stand upright for the first week... He is writing a dr note saying I am having umbilical hernia repair so that is what I will be telling coworkers because I don't want anyone knowing and being judgemental...so many women are so judgemental when all we want to do is feel better about ourselves! I wish you lots of luck with your surgery! I hope we heal in time for the summer!
Madison5269 (RealFriend) 13 Mar 2011
I totally agree - thanks for the umbilical hernia excuse, I will use the same one! I was trying to think of what I would tell my boss & coworkers. I don't even want to tell most people because I don't want to hear that I took the "easy way". I work so hard - I rollerblade 5 days a week, walk, run, do yoga, tone, etc & still cannot tighten my saggy skin. I work very hard and it hurts to think that people would be so judgemental. I am in good shape except for the saggy skin. If I got any thinner it would be unattractive! Believe me, if there was any other way I could avoid surgery & the cost, I would do it. No easy way out here. I am with you Blondiekj! No judgement here! I am so happy I found this forum! It is nice to go through this with others.
blondiekj 14 Mar 2011
Post some pics soon! We are definitely all here for you! Its so nice to have other women to talk to that have or will go through the same procedure as us!

I have been on a weight loss program and was very honest about what I was doing. You would be surprised. Most people were actually very supportive and said they wish they could do it. Remember we did it for us. I had my TT on Friday. Pain on Saturday was intense but today seems a little better.

I am scheduled for 4/27 and I just made one of many shopping trips for supplies. Man, there is so much to get. So far I bought: 3 pairs of sweats, Wisps (disposable toothbrushes) for when you just gotta brush, Colace, Milk of Magnesia because that painful gas is what I am afraid of, pantyliners to put over incision, some gauze and paper tape. That is it so far, I figured the sticker shock of all these items were better done in doses. LOL. I am trying to find an alternative to Palmers' lotions. The smell is nauseating to me. Anyways, that is it for this week. I need to do some more research on the silicone sheets and scar creams to find the best ones. Anybody have anything else they want to recommend??
mixter 4 Mar 2011
The only thing I bought so far was the Palmers Vitamin E oil. I figure I'll do that as it gets closer to the surgery.

I have bought two sundresses though because I doubt I'll want to put anything around my waist while I'm home.

Is it better to wear sweats? If so, I've got plenty of those already.
beachmomdk 17 Mar 2011
I found that sweats or PJ pants were the best thing to wear.. I had to wear a tank top under the binder since I broke out in a rash after I got out of the hospital I think from the binder and I was very sweaty at night. Not sure why that was maybe from hormones readjusting after hysterectomy. I haven't been able to wear a bra just too much clothing since I put a tee shirt over the binder and tank top. So I got some tank tops with the shelf bra in them and they work out well. I had to put antibiotic ointment on the bellybutton for a few weeks and had waterproof steri strips on for the first 5 weeks over most of the incision. Then I bought HybriSil to put on the scar from the PS office. They said Kelo-cote was also good for the scar.
I tell everyone who ask that I had a hysterectomy and tummy tuck! I don't feel like it is cheating I have done 400 sit ups a day for years and still had a belly and hated it. I am so happy with my new tummy and my husband loves it too.. It wasn't easy!!
Booka 31 Mar 2011
I am getting mine the same day! Woohoo
Jessiest 7 Apr 2011
Oh wow! You are 1 day after me and I have not bought anything. Is thisall stuff the dr said you need or stuff that other members here have said you should use.
blondiekj 4 Mar 2011
Darn! You ladies are way ahead of me... I haven't bought a thing yet! I better get on it since I have five weeks until TT! I am just counting down the days! I really like shea butter... I used that on the scars i had from my augmentation 10 years ago and they healed really well. I was wondering about the belly button... could we put lotion or anything on it or will it be so sore...
mixter 4 Mar 2011
Yeah, I was wondering when you can start putting stuff on the scar. I would guess after two weeks or so. Does that sound right?
LochlandsMom 4 Mar 2011
that is a good question for the doc! I will add that to my ever growing list...thanks

Hia! I'm scheduled for 4/7- I found this site and thought I would share: ithttp://www.tuckthattummy.com/recovery_info.htm
For me I found it very helpful because if its Medication time charts, shopping list, etc.
I particularly love the Mable trick for a round belly button. I'm hung up on having a great belly button so you KNOW I'm going to try it! ;)
I take a deep breath every time I think about how close it’s getting. Exciting and scary all at once.
Mel3909 6 Mar 2011
*marble
blondiekj 7 Mar 2011
Hmmm...has anyone's dr. said anything about putting a marble in the belly button to make it round? I am worried about the belly button hurting from that. Right now my belly button is like a cave from pregnancy and all so I am looking forward to a smaller one, lol!
