TT/MR/lipo on 4/4/14. Recovering was going great and better than I thought. I was sent home same day with Vicodin, and was off those by 4 days PO. On 5 days PO, I felt "off" and noticed numbness in right side of face. Googled stroke symptoms and one thing I checked was my smile-- when I tried to smile, only left side of mouth went up and the right side drooped. Also having problems with right eye. I wasn't convinced that it was a stroke because still had total and equal function of both sides of my body, only affecting my face. However, a stroke is a risk of a TT and it crossed my mind, and for a few moments I was very angry at myself that I, a single mother, would voluntarily risk my health with a TT. I am 39, non-smoker, 110# and never had health issues so I figured my risk was low. Went to urgent care and it was diagnosed as Bells Palsy which is paralysis of facial nerves. I am so incredibly thankful that it is not a stroke. My Bells Palsy is very mild and I am confident it will almost or totally heal in the next month or two. It is a pain because I can't blink which dries out my eye, and my right side of mouth makes it hard to drink/eat and tend to drool-- however, I would take this any day over a stroke. More of a nuisance than anything. What's weird is that it probably has nothing to do with the tummy tuck, but possibly a virus. (Same herpes virus that causes cold sores-- I don't have herpes and never had a cold sore in my life!?) I'm on a steroid that makes it nearly impossible for me to sleep. Got a whole 3 hours last night, so that may affect my TT recovery-- but overall I feel like I am on the downhill for this TT recovery. I do not regret my TT, but for a moment I was a bit scared and thought-- yikes- I'll have a flat tummy but instead will a stroke and have no control over half of my body?? I am very lucky that it wasn't the case! Hoping that there are no more hiccups in this journey!

I had original TT April 2011, with complication, and then a 2nd TT/repair in January of 2012. I am not totally satisfied with my results. I'm short waisted, and after the second surgery I now have no waist, and a bulge above my belly button. It's hard to keep any pants up, because I am so flat in my lower belly, not to mention I feel like I have a corset on 24/7, and all the fat/skin was pushed up above belly button, resulting in a roll. The very thing I wanted to get rid of. I had a second opinion to see if lipo would help, but the doctor said to fix it properly, I would need a 3rd TT! No thanks! I've resigned myself to the fact that this experience was not perfect and am going to accept myself the way I am. I am still glad to have the lower belly fat gone, however my waist still is huge in comparison. Disappointed!

It's been a little over 2 years since I had my TT. I have never been happier. For the first time in 52 years, I am happy and content with my body. My scar is almost invisible. I still have a harder spot above my belly button but it has been getting smaller. I spoke with a fellow TT yesterday and she said her hard spot is almost gone as of 4 years post. The hardest thing for me to believe after the TT, was that I would be able to lift, stretch and do everthing I had done before without harming the TT. Well guess what, you do get back to normal again! And my TT is still intact! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, this was one of the best decisions ever made.

I have one scheduled for April 30th and I'm so incredibly nervous, I'm thinking about canceling. Some of the stories on here are CRAZY! I'm so worried about the scar and complications. Is anyone else having major anxiety? T.

I had a full tt on April 6th. The first two maybe three weeks are supper emotional and very uncomfortable . I think the fear of somthing going wrong and the emotional factor has a lot to do with the crazy stories. I'm going to my three week po in a few hours, if you can buckle down and muscle through the first two weeks, you will be supper happy with the results. Be aware around week two lots of ladies have kind of a emotional breakdown ( I was all set to leave my ( perfectly wonderful ) husband who has been thanklesly taking care of our four homeschooled children for the last two weeks. . . Until I broke down in a weepy puddle on the floor because I couldn't move my suit case. That being said my husband was very understanding.

Hello Blondie :o) I made it through the surgery, spent one night in the hospital and now am home on the mend. I did A LOT of reading and research and I think I am doing better than I thought I would!! And I am really suprised to see such nice results sooo soon and the swelling hasn't even gone down yet. I have heard the 3rd day is the worst though so going to be ready. It is Great to have a site like this to talk with people who have been through the same thing. Thanks for responding.

So glad the surgery went well and you are beginning the healing process... I feel the first day was the toughest for me because I was vomiting from the meds and had to call the dr for different prescriptions.... Things get much better once the drains are out.... Its a long healing process but you will love the results... =) Happy Healing!

Wow, you have been through so much lifeafter! This is a great gift to have. Good luck with your surgery. It will be a few weeks recovery time but its so worth it. I went April 8th of 2011 for my full TT and am so happy I did... just be careful not to over do it afterwards... no picking up kids etc.... recovery is very important.
