Six Months Later These past six months have been great. I asked my doctor to make me a D cup but I have discovered that depending on which store I shop at I am a large B or a small C. I have not been able to find a bra that fits me. After so many years of wearing bras that didn’t completely cover me up, now I have bras that I cannot fill up….lol. I have tried on probably 20 different bras in the store in the past 3 months and the only bras I can wear now that fit me are sports bras. But I am fine with that. I still have quite a bit of numbed skin six months later. The entire bottom/underneath of each boob is completely numb on the surface but itches on the inside. How is that even possible. Well one day I broke out in hives on my boobs because I used a new soap and I was thankful that I could not feel my skin that was hived up. I had hives the size of dimes all over my boobs and could feel nothing so I was glad for that. My nipples are two different colors: an outer ring color of brown and an inside color of bright pink. Looks kinda weird and I don’t know if it will ever all be the same color. I worry about explaining how a new boyfriend would feel about me not having nipples anymore. I don’t have nipples like I did before. The surface of my nipples are smooth as butter and no longer project but responds to temperature. I still have these side pockets near my arm pits that wont go away. I am hoping as I lose my weight that it will go away. I don’t regret a thing because I haven’t had back pain or neck pain once since my surgery. All of my shirts and dresses fit better. I can rock a tank top around the house with no bra and everything is not flopping everywhere. When I lay down my boobs no longer collect in my armpits. The one thing that scares me is getting a mammogram. When they squeeze them down will it rip my inside sutures?? LOL

Hi girls, Wish I had used this forum before , but hey here goes, I am now 2 months post op and triedctongo back to work as a long haul stewardess after 5 weeks, my surgeon said I would be ok after 3 weeks ! I was very sore afterwards and in bed for 2 days, I totally overdid it and signed myself back off work. Day to day living is now good apart from carrying much and upper body exercises . Hanging in there but desperate to get back to work, I have physio and Pilates on Monday to help, any ideas ?

Hi ladies! So, I was all geared up for surgery on Wednesday, pre-op was done and everything and just got a letter this morning from NHS saying it's been cancelled? Has this happened to anyone else and do you know whether they give you a new date pretty sharpish? The reason stated is 'Clinical need', but really not sure what to make of it. I can't call as it's Saturday. I understand someone may have an urgent op they need done, which may be the reason, and that's fine. I have to cancel the catsitter, food delivery service and all the days I have off work. Pretty stressful to rearrange everything as everything was 110% ready to go and I was mentally prepped for it all :( Most of all, I just feel abit sad as I was super excited. Hope the new date comes around soon. Anyone gone through this? Boobs are also sore and bothering me so much today, I just want them gone and now I feel kind of depressed about it. Will I ever get my surgery? :( :(

Sorry i have been missing in action. Been super busy. My new boobies are great. Wearing strapless dresses with no bra all summer so far. Loving it. No more under wire. Go braless most days now! Feel great.

Hi Chibbey!! Great to read such a positive update from you! I'm so happy for you that you are doing well & feeling great. I too have amassed a large collection of strapless tops and dresses and I am LOVING all the new clothing options & I love, love, love my perky B's!! I don't think I'll ever wear underwires again. :)

Yay!! I answer the door in my tanks with the "built in bras" without even thinking twice now. I even went for a walk in one, kinda forgot I didn't have a bra on. But I am loving the perky girls. They stay where they belong!!! :) No strapless items here, then again, I don't do dresses. :/

Hello wonderful ladies : ) has any had to have stitches removed from around the nipple area? Was this as horrendously painfull as it sounds? : / dreading this!! Thank you x

I had my sutures removed at 4 weeks and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting at all. At the 4 weeks mark, I was so ready for them to come out because the glue and sutures were itching and poking me. It hurt for a split second and then it was over. I felt so much better. You will do just fine :-)

Aw thank you liz I'm only three days post op and the thought of someone even touching them makes me want to run for the hills (maybe not run) I've got to have them out on Wednesday x

That was a piece of cake, not to worry!! What made it even better is once they all came out, two weeks post op for me, I realized how comfortable I was getting with all the stitches out. A little tugging and pulling is really all I felt. Hope you are great otherwise!!

Hello guys, I will be travelling for my surgery in July. I wonder how long did u guys feel ok to walk around and go out etc after surgery?

I'm 4 weeks out today... Not sure how much walking around you're talking about, but I had to go back in to see my PS on postop day 1 and 2 and did ok. I was really tired for the first week, so While I was up and about, I rested a lot. Then I had a family emergency and had to fly from VA to TX on day 6. I had to be very active there, but I did listen to my body and rested when I could. I drank lots of water and tried to remember to eat... especially protein. Hope this helps!

I am 3 weeks po, the second day was ok just take it easy and drink a lot of water

I found I needed to sleep a lot the first several days. I also (personally) would be nervous about flying or a very long car ride too soon after the surgery because of the blood clot risk - definitely ask your PS if s/he has an opinion. Best wishes!

Hello Ladies! I am 6 1/2 weeks post op and got cleared 2 weeks earlier than my PS originally said for exercising and wearing non-surgical bras! I am on cloud 9 and ready to hit the gym and pool!

i had my op 3rd May (cannot find may in the forums) Hi, Im post op 4 weeks today, and like you I feel so tired , especially after any exertion , or normal activity around the house. I have internal stitches in place, consultant says if they are still there at next clinic in 5 weeks he will then take them out ... Ive had a reduction from 32H to 32C i feel the benefits already, no pain in neck and shoulders etc ... ive also been told i need to buy a very strong sports bra a size too small whenever i can start to run again (doc says no running until next clinic) wounds are healing ver well, although on one side it looks like ive taken a reaction to the staples (removed 12 days post op) on one breast only, the other being completely clear of the 'track' marks ... would it have been the annesthetic that makes you so tired for so long ?

I think there is something with anesthesia to be honest b/c I have felt the same way. Literally, driving home from work some days around week 4 or 5 I had to pull over b/c I would get soo sleepy. Even now I get tired easily but not to the level I did. I also think our bodies are trying to heal and that adds to it. I unfortunately have a wound and asked the dr. if the wound (which is pretty severe) could make me so tired and they said no. I've been trying to drink lots of water to keep hydrated.....sounds sill but it seems to help and maybe it will help flush out any toxins etc. Good luck.

I had body contouring plus BR. Dr. said I lost 2 pints of blood and it would take a month to regain that strength. I'm on double prenatal vitamins, red meat, and spinach (not to mention naps). It's only been 9 days, but I do feel a little stronger every day. Good luck.
