Hi, Has anyone had the Lifestyle Lift in San Mateo, CA?
I went for a consultation there a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed by the facility and my "consultant." The doctors at that location have very impressive plastic surgery credentials; ie Stanford, Duke, etc. But of course, having someone cut my face is pretty scary!!So please share if you have gone through the process there, the good and the bad ;-) Thanks!

I was seen at the SAN MATEO office July 23, 2007. Before seeing a COUNSELOR
I talked to a patient seated next to me. HE WAS THERE TO HAVE HIS STITCHES REMOVED. HE SAID HE HAD BEEN THROWING UP ON THE THIRD DAY AFTER SURGERY AND COULD NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH TO CHEW. HE SAID HE WAS 48, HE LOOKED ABOUT 28 OR 29. HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE LACK OF FOLLOW UP BY THE DOCTOR. EVEN AFTER HEARING THIS, I PUT UP $460. DOWN PAYMENT FOR MY OWN LIFT. I SUFFER FROM SCALP PSORIASIS AND I WAS TOLD MANY YEARS TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO INJURE MYSELF BECAUSE THIS COULD SETUP ANOTHER SITE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PSORIASIS.
LSL WAS QUICK TO SAY THIS WAS OF NO CONCERN WITHOUT GIVING MUCH THOUGHT OR TO AT MY SCALP. I DON'T WANT THE DISEASE TO SPREAD ONTO MY FACE. I PLAN TO CANCEL MONDAY MORNING AND GET MY MONEY BACK. $4600. WAS THE PRICE GIVEN ME. THERE IS A $1,000. OFF SPECIAL. LIPO FOR ME IS $1200 BUT THE SPECIAL AT THIS TIME IS HALF OFF. TOTAL COST IS $4600 WITH 10% DOWN. NICE PEOPLE OUT THERE, GOOD LUCK.

Hello to both of you,
Yes, I had a Lifestyle Lift on Tuesday August 21st in the San Mateo facility. The procedure was surprisingly easy, was preformed in a clean, comfortable room with relaxing music by the Doctor and a assistant.
I went home, slept for a day and was up and around and doing normal things on Thursday with minimal pain. Everything looks good so far and once the stitches are removed and the swelling and bruising disappear the results will be marvelous. This was an easier procedure than having my wisdom teeth removed but with much greater personal satisfaction...

Hi JBC
Could you tell me who your doctor was in the San Mateo office? I am scheduled for a LSL after the holidays-yes they are booked that far ahead. but after reading many of the comments on this forum I am chickening out- even if it means losing my deposit. Please let us know how you are doing and if you are pleased with how you look.

I am also thinking of having LL done in the San Mateo office. Does anyone know the cost w/ or w/o the lipo? If you have used this office please let me know what you thought of the results.

I am considering having the procedure done in San Mateo, CA. Any one that is happy w/ the results?
Is it worth it? Now after reading all these comments I am skeptical. I understand they just opened in April of 2007.
Can I get some feedback please?

Hi to everyone. I loved reading all of your comments. I am truly excited about this new found mini face lift. Is it true that we can make payments? And that it is affordable to anyone? I am a struggling (older) esthetician and to compete in this industry I need to feel and look much younger. I would be going to the San Mateo clinic. Anyone been there? Any feed back? I would probably wear like ear plugs and put some aromatherapy under my nose. Thanks so much to all of you?

I just had my first consultation in San Mateo, and it was the first appt of the day at 9:00. I was there by myself for about 15 minutes and then people started coming in. I was nervous at first not seeing anyone in the waiting room except a receptionist. The office was very busy by the time I left one hour later. The consult form is very minimal considering the procedure one is there for. The Dr.'s assistant spent 20 minutes with me discussing my face after watching the video and said the cost would be $4000.Since I lived an hour away, they would take off $200 as a traveling fee because I would need to stay at a hotel one time before an 8:00am consult with the doctor who would be doing the surgery. I left a deposit for my April 08 appointment knowing I could change the date for even later in the year to give myself more time to think about it. Also, I could send in payments each month if I wanted to. They give you one week to cancel with a full refund.

I am having a consulatation next week in the San Mateo office. Could you please email me your comments on the healing, how long till the bruising or swelling subsided. Were you able to return to work in a short time, and did you look good or were you all swollen or bruised. Are you satisfied now?
Thanks Colleen

On April 26,2007 I went into Lifestyle lift office for a consultation in San Mateo, California.
After spending 1 hour I decided that I would like to talk to a doctor about this LifeStlye Lift. I made an appointment on May 7th to speak to one of the plastic surgeons there. I was told that I would have to give them a $760.00 deposit for the services of the face lift.
They reassured me that I could get this deposit back anytime before 7 days from the initial appointment. That night I research the doctors there and found out they had not been truthful with me. The one doctor worked part time at Kaiser Hospital and the other was not Board Certified. I called the next day approximately 23 hours after I left my deposit to cancel my doctors appt. and get my deposit back. The front desk clerk told me that I would have to wait to speak to the consellor that I had talk to originally.
I waited 2 days to hear from her and after much discussion she told me that I would get my deposit sent back to me. It has now been 21 days and after numerous phone calls to the San Mateo office I still do not have my deposit back. MY credit card company said that LifeStyle Lifts disputed the refund to me since I had never cancelled in the 7 day time period allotted to me. I spent 3 hours on the phone today with my credit card company trying to get them to take the deposit charge off my credit card. I have yet to see the deposit refunded, good thing that I recorded the cancelation when talking to LifeStyle Lift.
My recommendation is Lifestyle Lifts are running a business that cheats people out of their deposits. Would you go to a doctor who told lies about their credentials and kept money when no services were rendered. Interested parties beware.
My next visit will be to the district attorney to try to close this outfit down!

So did you get a procedure done and if so how are the results plus healing and downtime?I'm going into the San Mateo office this week for a consultation and given the mixed comments in general on this website about Lifestyle lift, I'd be curious to know your outcome and anyone else's with this office and procedures

Hi Colleen or anyone who has had the lift at the San Mateo office.
Did you get a lift at the San Mateo office. I'm going in for a consult tomorrow and would like to find out your opinion. Thanks
2/25/08
sorry your experience was so bad. I had a consultation, discussed my options and felt comfortable enough to move to the next appointment with the surgeon. Although my surgery is a few months out my experience has been nothing but positive.

Waiting for my pre-op discussion with surgeon...
Would like to know of any good experiences with doctors in San Mateo.

The lifestyle lift doctors are all board-certified. Please make sure to check your facts. Go to the LSL website to see documentation for proof.

Hello,
The doctors are all board-certified and are truthful. You should see the website for all their documentation. Please do not post self-serving false information. This can be taken as slander or defamation of character.
Thanks,
PR

Hi, I am a Physician's Assistant, I just turned 50 and I did go in for a consultation-paid a deposit and felt good about everything they told me. I went home did some research on the doctors and all are board certified, one doctor is a Stanford grad. The people told me what to expect-I mean everything in detail. I am sorry about the lady who changed her mind and did not get her deposit back...I wish her the very best. I am scheduled to have surgery on March 31st and the office could not be kinder and or more considerate. The doctors all are board certified.

Hi there!
I have just had the precedure done on March 12th with Dr. Banthia at the San Mateo office.
It was done very professionally and I liked the fact that I went home right after and was able to rest for the next couple of days. There is a certain amount of disconfort (pain) I have felt but so far, it has been a week now, I am very happy with the results. I can already tell the difference! My advice is: Keep your mind concentrated on the end results. Too many people with too many differnt opinions write in here and I had promised myself that after my precedure I would encourage someone like myself, I have never done anything like this before, to go ahead.
It is all good. The clinic is busy (to busy at times) and they are getting better and better.
I can only say good things about my experience. Still in a bit of disconfort, but my spirit is high. Can not wait for the next weeks, months, years ahead!!! Good luck, Leonor

Hi Leonor,
How are you doing ? I went for preop at San Mateo and loved Dr. Chan.
For all you out there wondering about this office....I think one if the problems is they schedule appts. with the doctors every 15 minutes and then get way backed up. They are changing this I've been told.As far as I can tell, the procedure is pretty much like most facelifts perhaps with a little less suturing of the tissues under the skin.I think it's pretty important to also opt for the lipo under the chin and the suturing of the platysmus bands as well which lifestyle offers at an additional cost to the lift.
3/25/08
I understand that ALL of the Lifestyle Doctors are Board Certified.???
How can one be sure of that ? My doctor is even in my insurance book as a Plastic Surgeon, it does not say Board Certified. However he is Board Certified in ENT. I am scheduled to have the surgery in april.
3/25/08
I saw Dr. Chan in San Mateo. He is kind and sensitive. Ask to see your doctor's before and after.Dr. Chan showed me his and they are good.

Here's the deal about board certified. The best one is the american board of plastic surgery. This takes a long time to get. Other Boards sound very official but they're not that hard to belong to so I think it is a misnomer to brag about doctors being board certified unless it's with abps.

Hi Terra
I am going in for a consult on April 11. Since I can't wait, would you mind telling me what they told you about he procedure? On their website it says it only takes an hour? I am interested in neck and face. I think I read it was around $4000. Is that around what you paid?
Do they give you anesthesia? I am opting for Dr.Chen. Who are you going to have do yours?
If you don't mind, could you email me?
Thanks!
Lorie

How long after your consultation (I have one on April 11) do you have to wait for the surgery? (San Mateo, Dr. Chen is who I am asking to do the surgery.
On the video that one lady has of her after surgery, she looked pretty banged up. She had an eye lift as well. I didn't realize they could do that too. Any information you can give me is greatly appreciated!
Are you entirely happy with yours?
Thanks,
Lorie

Hello Lorie,
I had the Lift last Sept. (I'm 60), in San Mateo and I also had my eyes done. The discomfort was less than I expected, only took pain meds. for two days. The bruising lasted quite awhile but I covered it with makeup. The video mirrored my experience almost exactly.
The results were excellent & I was ecstatic. However, it is now only 6 months later and I'm starting to see significant sagging already so I would have serious doubts about spending the money for such short term results. I feel the material is quite misleading.
Best,
Lia

Hi Lia,
Did you have the cords worked on under the chin? You'd see a small scar.I'm told the results last well if this is done.Who was your doctor?

That's strange. I wanted my deposit back and called the San Mateo office. They had me call another number and the person said it would take a few weeks to get my deposit back. And I did get it back without any problems.

Did you get your LSL in San Mateo. How has your result been? I've heard within 6 months sagging begins to come back. Did you think it was worth it.
