Seems like 5 different friends are now selling me on Arbonne.  I would be happy to give someone the sale, but I just don't know if their antiaging skin care products are worth it.  Seems like lots of steps, hard to keep doing over time.

Maybe someone wants to sell me their no-longer used Arbonne products  :)

I'm in the same boat.   Getting the sales assault on all sides!

I did the week trial and frankly the products seemed fine.  It's hard to say "they work", but my feeling is that whenever you do multistep treatment with even olay you'll notice your skin soften and smooth.

I hope someone can write in and give a arbonne review for long-term use of it.

I've been using the RE9 system for about a year and I can't live without it. The cost was a concern at first but I have only had to replace one item at a time so that works out as far as cost. The first thing I ran out of was the face wash and that was after about 5 months of use. I can tell a difference in my skin if I forget to use it. My face seems to beg for it!LOL I have seen a big difference in my crows feet and the dark circles are gone. I also use the eye cream on a scar I have on my neck and it has faded tremendously. One last thing, there is no such thing as magic in a bottle but if you can get the glow you use to have in your skin when you were young then it's worth it. I'm living with the ARbonne glow.

Hi, everyone,

Yeah, Arbonne has lots of silky, yummy-smelling products and great options, but I'm tellin' ya, they use chemicals in their products that have been shown to do organ damage, cause skin irritation, and a whole host of other problems for our health. Read the labels, women! I implore you.

Natural skin care is the answer. Get products with no harsh chemicals or additives and watch your skin come alive in just a few days. I use www.edenskiss.com but there are tons of all-natural, healthy skin care products out there that feed and revitalize your skin, naturally. You can also check out the products on apothena.com or terressentials.com. A great resource for all things natural is Debra's List.

You don't need slick packaging and crazy chemical concoctions to look younger and be sexier. More info on the bad stuff in cosmetics can be found all over the Internet. But check out the cosmetics cop for a detailed analysis of all the ingredients in our makeup and skin care products. She's the best.

Go natural, girls! Best of health to you all.
Liz

FYI- Arbonne products are botanically based, pH neutral, never tested on animals and has no animal by-products in their formulations. I have used plenty of other brands and was for years a devotee of dermologica & MD formulations, but after I did the week with Arbonne I was hooked. I get complements on my skin weekly and at 38 I still get carded when I buy alcohol. I give Arbonne products a super recommendation, I can say it works for ME.

Hi everyone- I think the Arbonne products really are nothing special.  I have no issue with using products that have chemicals in them. I too, like natural skin care products, but I do think that you can get results from non-natural based products. And more than natural products, I look for skin care products that will hopefully give results.
What I do not care for with the Arbonne products is the over hyped vitamin C as if that is the only thing that you need.  I believe that if  you do that whole 7 step process with any products - you would feel like your skin looks better.  I also find the products to be a bit sticky.  I have the vitamin c body wash in the shower, it smells nice, (as long as you like orange) but it never gets a lather- so I end up using a soap that I feel cleans my body and then i use the orange soap to get a bit of the scent.  I will not be purchasing more.
As for the anti-aging lotions.  I imagine that they lock some moisture in, but I am looking for performance, I can get moisturizer for half the price.

Most people say that Microdermx is the best because it shaves off the dead skin and replenishes it. I've heard it's better with better results.

This is a reply to going "all natural." All natural isn't everything it is cracked up to be---have you ever seen what happens to a bunch of fruit and vegetables if they sit on your counter for about a week. They grow mold and bacteria and turn rotten. I definitely wouldn't put that on my face. I respect the the company's that protect their products with good preservatives and use the best of science and technology to put into their products for truly good results.
Remember there are very many irritating ingredients in nature--just ask someone with allergies how irritated nature can make them. Just because something says, "All natural" don't get hooked into thinking it's the best. Also, if it says all natural you are going to have to keep your products in the refrigerator, so they don't go bad.

Re: Arbonne...I was looking in this forum to find info on this...cause I've also got friends raving, but they too sell it. So whoever has input who has actually tried it, without selling it, I'd love to hear from...

But then I just saw the comment on Microdermx and had to jump in, cause I use it and it is an absolute STAPLE for me! I NEVER want to be without it, it's a treatment more than a daily skincare regime and so I only use it every week or two. But it's smoothed out my skin and "evened" (is that a word?! :) ) out my skintone unlike anything I've ever tried...(and I've tried at least 7 versions of microdermabrasion...including the kind at the salon that costs an arm and a leg!)

And regarding the natural component, yes its' true you have to be careful. NO preservatives can be a bad thing, but there are companies that use food grade preservatives which are SAFE to INGEST, which is what you want bc, whatever you put ONTO your skin gets absorbed and has to be delt with by the LIVER. So Toxic preservatives like parabens and propylene glycol are high on my list to avoid.
But then...I also want my skincare to WORK!!! LOL, so it's kind of a balance...

I have been using Arbonne products for 2 years and I love them. I don't believe that the price is any different than using over the counter stuff, with the exceptions that now I am not spending $200 a month or every other month. My products last me 5-6 months and the traveling size last me about 2-3 months using them day and night.
My mom is 68 and look younger thanks to their products. It is totally worth it, besides you pary $29 to get the discount and you end up getting that money back right on your first order and a free product that is worth $72...When I signed up I got $350 worth of products for $29 because all my friends got a little something at my party. Try it! What other company lets you do that before you buy it?

There are NO chemicals in Arbonne products, that is a lie! Arbonne products are all botanical and the only allergic reactions someone may experience is if they are allergic to ingredients like lilac, orange, nut oils etc. You can go online and print a FULL ingredient list of any Arbonne product to check for possible allergic reactions. Arbonne products are carefully tested by dermotologists, not just "recommended" they are tested and approved by dermotologists. They do not contain any mineral oil or any derivitives of Mineral oil which is the second leading cause of skin cancer after the sun. Arbonne does not test products on animals, EVER, and they are one of the few health and beauty products company that are Vegan approved .

I have rosacea and every other product I tried made me dry and red except Arbonne.
Where has Arbonne products been shown to cause organ damage? Where are you getting this information? You should be very careful about spreading propaganda on the internet unless you can provide proof of your claims.

The Arbonne Body wash does definately get a lather if you use it with a buff puff like the orange one it came with. No puff, no lather.

arbonne product i would best describe as pleasant but hardly revolutionary. looking for a nice, gentle bathing product or moisturizer, sure, arbonne is a good choice.

i didn't find the arbonne antiaging line to do much in reducing my fine lines and eye wrinkles. lots of big promises made by my rep (a friend like others mention above!) that just arbonne didn't deliver on

i think the dermatologist brands may be a better way to go if younger looking skin is your goal. dr brandt, dr perricone, etc.

See...that's the problem. I was a "user" and now I am a seller". Many people that use love the products so much that they start to sell it. My mother and grandmother use it and they don't sell it. They also don't use it just to benefit me. Since using Arbonne's anti-aging line, my grandmother, who is 71, has compliments on her skin all the time. People that have not seen her in a while tell her how good she looks.

Arbonne products are awesome. Of all the people that I have sold products to, 99.9% have been satisfied with their purchase. The products sell themselves. It has nothing to do with trying to make a buck and putting some fly by night gimmick out there just for a quick sale. Arbonne has been in business for 28 years. They stand behind their products. Most consultants are in the business because of their faith in the products and not for the money.

As a cosmetic chemist as well as an aesthetician I have to tell you girls-Arbonne is not "chemical-free". Everything is chemical based...open up your science textbook and have a look. When I was managing a spa, I was constantly assaulted by Arbonne reps who wanted me to carry their product. Consequently I had a chance to examine the line and it's products very closely, as well as it's claims. The poor reps are so unaware of what they are really selling. Sadly, most of them feel very strongly about their beloved Arbonne-like the girl with rosacea who posted above. On the whole, it's not a bad product-it isn't really anything special either. Their vitamin c isn't the type your skin can use (l-ascorbic acid). The concentrations of active ingredients are low, or alltogether absent. The products are not "all-natural" nor are they fully "botanically based". The following ingredients are some of those nasty "chemicals" that are very present in Arbonne's products and are the ones that may or may not be harmful to us-but they certainly are not "natural": PEG-100, myristyl myristate, ceteareth-20, triethanolamine, methylparaben, propylparaben, diazolidinyl urea, butylene glycol-I could go on and on. While "generally regarded as safe" many of these chemicals release formaldehyde and are known to concentrate themselves in our organs. The national institute of health is being urged to change their stance on the safety of many of them. They are used in great quantities in lower-end skincare products, and Arbonne is no exception. Arbonne also uses alot of emulsifiers and fillers. But hey-if you love it, keep using it. I personally think there is better stuff out there, and I encourage all of you Arbonne fans to google a few of those chemicals I listed. I do have to say that preservatives are nessecary to maintain the integrity of a product. There are better, newer chemical to do this and newer packaging options that help. Companies that do not use preservatives are great but you have to realize that the expiration date is much shorter. You can't expect to buy a natural, preservative-free product, open it, use it a couple of times, forget about it and then expect it to be good six months later when you remember it.

Jessica, many of the Arbonne ingredients ARE known to cause allergic reactions in many people. It is not "propaganda" as you stated but fact. Arbonne is not "all botanical". If you want to know where the info about the chemicals comes from, look at my post further down, google a few of those ingredients and look at what they are and how they work, and the concerns regarding them. I think you will see that the concerns are valid-not some tree-hugger's secret agenda. Some of the ingredients are petroleum byproducts. Oh-and before YOU go off spreading propaganda, do a little research. Open an organic chemistry textbook or use the internet-it's right there. Just because you love a product doesn't make it natural or safe or even the best.

PEG 100 Stearate
PEG 100 Stearate is made by combining natural oils with stearic acid to form a water-soluble ester. PEG stands for polyethylene glycol. The cosmetic industry uses PEG-100 stearate as an emollient, an emulsifier and a moisturizer
Unexpected skin barrier influence from nonionic emulsifiers.

Bárány E, Lindberg M, Lodén M.

Department of Dermatology, University Hospital, Uppsala, Sweden. ebba.barany@acohud.se

Skin disorders are often treated with creams containing various active substances. The creams also contain emulsifiers, which are surface-active ingredients used to stabilize the emulsion. Emulsifiers are potential irritants and in the present study the influence of stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, PEG-2, -9, -40, and -100 stearate, steareth-2, -10 and -21 on normal as well as on irritated skin have been evaluated with non-invasive measurements. Test emulsions were created by incorporating 5% emulsifiers in a water/mineral oil mixture (50:50). The emulsions and their vehicle were then applied to normal skin for 48 h and to sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) damaged skin for 17 h in aluminum chambers. Twenty-four hours after removal of the chambers the test sites were evaluated for degree of irritation. In normal skin, the emulsifiers induced significant differences in TEWL but not in skin blood flow. Five of the emulsifiers increased TEWL. In SLS-damaged skin an aggravation of the irritation was expected. However, no differences regarding skin blood flow was noted from the emulsifiers. Furthermore, three emulsifiers unexpectedly decreased TEWL. These results highlight the possibility of absorption of these emulsifiers into the lipid bilayer, which increase TEWL in normal skin and decrease TEWL in damaged skin.

Myristyl Myristate
Ester of myristyl alcohol and myristic acid. Esters are light oils used as cosmetic emollients.

Ceteareth-20
Derived from cetearyl alcohol, it is used with the parent alcohol or with other fatty alcohols and functions as a primary emulsifier and thickening agent.

Dimethicone

Dimethicone belongs to a class of synthetic materials known as silicones. Dimethicone is a linear polymer of methylated siloxanes. Silicone materials related to dimethicone include siloxane polymers of dimethicone and methicone. Silicone compounds are not absorbed through the skin.

Dimethicone is used widely in Beauty Care Products for its superior spreadability and is an excellent emollient.

Dimethicone and related siloxane polymers have been used in cosmetic formulations at concentrations of use up to 15%. The CIR Expert Panel has concluded that dimethicone and related polymers are "safe as used in cosmetic formulations".

LIZ,
I ASSURE YOU THERE ARE NO HARSH CHEMICALS IN ARBONNE PRODUCTS. YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF ON THEIR WEBSITE WWW.ARBONNE.COM. THEIR PRODUCTS ARE BOTANICALLY BASED. THAT "YUMMY" SMELL YOU ARE REFERRING TO IS AN ACTUAL BOTANICAL IN THE PRODUCT. COULD YOU TELL ME WHICH PRODUCTS YOU THINK HAVE BEEN LINKED TO DO ORGAN DAMAGE? I'D LIKE TO RESEARCH IT FOR MYSELF. AS FAR AS I KNOW, ARBONNE HAS THE BEST PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET RIGHT NOW. THEY HAVE NANOSPHERE TECHNOLOGY, WHICH MEANS THEY ACTUALLY GO TO THE CELLULAR LEVEL TO RELEASE FREE RADICAL VITAMINS AND HERBS THAT ARE ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR BODY. AND I USE THE ABC LINE(ARBONNE BABY CARE) ON MY LITTLE GIRL, AND IT IS THE ONLY PRODUCT THAT DOESN'T USE SYNTHETIC OILS. THIS LINE IS COMPLETELY HARMLESS!

I like arbonne facial cleansers, quite gentle and effective. but I have to agree with others above that arbonne can get oversold by reps when it comes to anti-aging.

wrinkle fighting is very challenging science and the folks selling arbonne aren't given enough data to truly answer the questions we have. not their fault, its just highly complicated

Know your information Liz! If you are going to use information use it responsibly! The "ingredients" that Arbonne uses that as you say cause "organ failure" is a bit of scare tactic don't ya think? The few and VERY small doses of ingredients used by Arbonne that people like you deem as "fatal" has been approved by the NIOSH and CCR. Those ingrediants are used for the protection of bacteria growing in products as well as holding up the integrity of the product. In fact, if .014% of parabans scare you into not using Arbonne then maybe you should rethink how you get to work everyday because because by golly the amount of exhaust coming from the car in front of you while your sitting in traffic can cause organ failure--in fact don't ever go into any public location because there can be second hand smoke and yes that can cause cancer Hmmm...!

Besides the whole "go natural is a bust." Natural can be just as dangerous to a person then .014% parabens. How long has that product been sitting on a shelf? How much bateria is collected in that cream? Better yet think about all of the "natural" products that were sitting in the back of a truck being hauled at all different climates and some just sitting back there gettting molded and made especially for your face! MMMMM...can hardly wait to smear it all over and smell like peaches! GIVE ME A BREAK!

This forum has been very interesting. In the network marketing business(selling Miessence which is totally organic USDA and ACO and preservative free with expiration dates!) I have seen people go the way of Arbonne. I think all of us are too hung up on looking young and beating the clock. If you are interested in doing something how about helping the world as a whole and going organic? Actually by eating organic your skin will be a lot healthier and so will you! Arbonne is not as safe as people think. If you do your best to stay away from chemicals as much as you can you will be better able to fight any chemicals entering our bodies by means in which we can't control. So that said if you eat organic and use organic skin care you will reduce your overall chemical intake and be that much better off. Long term buildup of chemicals in our bodies has been shown to lead to cancer.
Please watch out for Quanternum anything as that is embalming fluid that leads to cancer and also watch out for the the parabens which have been found in over 90% of breast cancer studies. For organic food please google for your local co-op. For organic skincare

I am a licensed cosmetologist currently in the business at a high end salon and I sell Arbonne. I used to sell Dermalogica and use Chanel. Arbonne is much safer (less chemicals) and it has a higher concentration of active ingredients. I would recommend it to anyone. It really sells itself. System is not that complicated... wash, tone, serum, eye, face. That's it!

Hi everyone, I am also a BeautiControl consultant and have several ex-ARbonne consultants on my team because our products work BETTER than Arbonne and are affordable for most consumers. They are almost HALF the price of Arbonne.

We have in-home spa parties and everyone likes our parties because they use the products at the spa on their face and really know how they feel. When you join BC you get $425 of FULL SIZE products for $125, everything you need to start your business. Our products are primarily botanically based, not tested on animals but are RESULTS oriented. If you want to reduce lines and wrinkles then BeautiControl is what you want. They have just introduced a dermal filler with hyarulonic acids spheres that reduces wrinkles noticiable within one hour. Our skin renewing and microdermabrasion products give great results.

I urge you to make the switch. Your pocketbook and your face will thank you. Your friends, husbands, and boyfriends will notice you look younger and if you choose you can start a business where the products are affordable enough that you can actually sell them as well as recruit others.

Spa party is the best "in the door" I know!

The Arbonne Intelligence line and RE9 facial lift all contain hydrolyzed soy protein, a hidden source of msg, which is a toxin as opposed to an allergen. And the Weight Loss Chews contain corn syrup, which suppresses the area/trigger in the brain that tells a person they're "full", so ultimately more food is eaten, which makes no sense to me in a weight loss product.

Post anything even slightly critical of Arbonne, and you can count on Arbonne reps rushing to the cite to "defend" the line, and reps from other MLMs pimping theirs.

Ex-arbonne

3/26/08

I'm going to try this again because my first comment didn't got lost.

Joy's post made me laugh out loud. First, I used to to defend the Arbonne line. Now I am going to pimp my new company. I left Arbonne this past Jan after 2+ years as an Executive Area Manager and I was making money. I still like the products but it was becoming harder and harder for me to defend the claim of "pure, safe and benefical" for all the reasons mentioned above. Then I had issues with some of the ethical business choices I had read about on other blogs and recently witnessed regarding front loading. Then it's should you do parties or one-on-ones or both, sell wholesale or retail. Follow the system - but which one? So confussing. What finally did it for me was I was at a party and someone told me about a soon to launched seller of skin care. No long presentations, no claims, just great products and fun. How refreshing! I love network marketing and I love selling skin care. I am looking for others like me. I wont' go into details here (not the right place) but if you would like to learn more, send me a message. Thanks!

I'd like to know what made you give up that Ex. Area Manager money?

Ex-arbonne
Ex-arbonne
3/31/08

Hello Lu,
That's a good question. What happened is that I truely think I found something better. I wasn't looking for a new company but at the time I learned about it, I was quite frustrated with my business. I had followed all the suggestions and was involved in a lot of "activity" from August thru Dec. What I found is that a lot of people already had Arbonne reps or they tried it and didn't like it. I also ran into people who had never heard about it as well but I had a tough time turning them into customers. In retrospect, I think I had lost my heart for the business. I still think the products are great, not for the totally green crowd (and I was so tired of defending pure, safe and benefical) but good products. I didn't like the business model of the stairstep breakaway and I didn't like the selling of the 4-6 kits to start and the pressure for new people to get to DM right away. And new business partners couldn't make any money since we signed everyone up for wholesale buying. They would work hard, make no money and then stop in frustration. I didn't like that reps would tell half truths even though I tried to make sure I only repeated what I could find to be verifiable. Then add in the issues of a runaway leg that could pass you and it all lead to frustration for me.

Honestly, there is so much more out there than Arbonne and I was pretty blind to it because you don't take the time to learn about anything else. Hybrid binaries are truely the way new companies build great teams where new members can make money and you can actually help them build a team. I think this new company is going to be amazing based on who is bringing them to market. They have studied the network marketing industry for 8 years and knows what works and what doesn't. How exciting is that?

I was making about $1000 a month and spent almost as much to build my business(my expenses averaged out over 12 months). I thought that if I kept investing, I would get to RVP. For many, it works, but I have choosen to go another direction and I couldn't be happier.I hope that gives a bit of insight into my decision.

I've come to the conclusion that no one product is going to make every 100% happy. I have really bad combination skin along with rosacea. I have tried everything under the sun to control the oil without drying my skin out. I've been using Arbonne for over a month (Not-so-basic line). Within a week, I had people complimenting my skin. It only takes a few minutes each morning and night. I personally love it!!! And if you haven't tried it, then don't knock it. Who knows... You might like it. And if you don't... well there's always the next skin care line. By the way... I'm not trying to hype you up for a sale. I'm just a consumer not a seller.

Hi,

I have been considering Arbonne and am interested in learning more about the company you are joining.

Would you mind sharing the name?

Thanks,
Erica

Hey, I'm feeling the very same way you did right now with my business, and well I'd like to know more information on what you're talking about. I love arbonne products, I've seen tremendous differences in my skin, but the business aspect isn't exactly what i thought it would be, and well it all happened so fast that I didn't have time to think about anything or look at other options. If you could give me more info, that would be great thanks!!

Hello Noe12,
It's nice to hear that I am not alone in how I felt. I have know many successful people at Arbonne but it just wasn't what I was about. I too think Arbonne products are great and I still have some favorites like the Prolief cream and the new Re9 peel.

If you read my post to Emily, you can learn more about Votre Vu. I'd be happy to answer any specific quesitions you have but would perfer if you could e-mail me directly. I promise not to abuse your contact information!

I find it facinating that Arbonne supporters are so incredibly defensive! Arbonne boasts the perfect balance between "science" and botanicals; and provides a botanical glossary. Where is their "science" (chemical) glossary? I managed to get access to their "science" ingredients list but it took a lot of determination, time & effort. Hmmm...I wonder why they don't make THIS information available to the public? Anything less than full disclosure means something is being hidden; and if it isn't at least potentially harmful; then why hide it? But then again, the cosmetic industry is in the business of concealing flaws, is it not?

Ex-arbonne

You are correct about the defensive part. I know I was and still am to a point. I really think the products are good but they do use a lot of science. Reps can find out about the science and inform their clients, but it is up to every rep. It would be nice if a complete list product ingredients were on the website for consumers to see. It is listed in all the packing slips.

I personally feel that reps get caught up in the pure, safe and benefical concept without truly understanding what that means. There's a lot of misinformation that get spreads from team to team. I also think a lot people trust what they hear and will just repeat without confirming the information. The one that really got "under my skin" was that everything you put on your skin gets absorbed in 30 secs. I couldn't find that anywhere! What I found is that the skin can absorb certain things and that the absorbtion rate is different for different parts of the body (per OSHA's website)
I also hated it when people said minereal oil causes cancer or is the #2 leading cause of aging per John Hopkins. Again, no proof but widely quoted.

There are many companies making lots of claims. It's hard to know what to believe.

As a cosmetic chemist, which products do you recommend?

If you want to use completely natural products, the only way to be sure, is to read every ingredient. Every company is going to claim that they are, because it is such an attractive claim. I only use natural beauty products, cleansers, organic foods etc...and the only place that I have found 100% natural beauty products is at natural food/wellness stores. The one in my town is very very particular about what products they sell, if they find one preservative, or petroleum based ingredient, they pull it from the shelves. A good tip is to not take product advice from a person who is trying to sell it to you in the first place. Go somewhere unbiased, where they have nothing to gain from lying to you, like your local health food store. And remember read every single ingredient on the label. FYI Burt's Bees was bought out and is no longer all natural and organic.

I looked up Burt's Bees and saw they were purchased by Clorox last Nov for about $995 million. Why are they no longer all natural and organic? I think that would make a lot of customers very unhappy.

I have a question regarding perservatives. If there aren't any, how do you keep them from spoiling? I have some creams that have .5% preservatives and after 18 months, they are no longer good (they smell awful) but I still have product left and have to throw it away and I hate waste.

Finally, I don't think salespeople lie to anyone, they just repeat what they think to be true. And isn't what you believe your truth, even if it may not be the truth? I have read of a new ice age vs global warming, as this was the coldest, snowest winter in history with snow in places that have never had it before. No one is lying about global warming and no one is lying about the winter, it's just the intretation (sp) of the facts. I like to think most people are fair and honest and sometime just misguided.

Just so you have an update...for the small amount of parabens that Arbonne might use, they are working on reformulations, to no longer carry ANY parabens in any of their products. Arbonne is Vegan certified and will not sacrifice their products for their beliefs!

Thank you~

Burt's Bees is also an animal product, hello!! They are created when bees are busy at work. Because they are bees shouldn't make their products any better than if they were to use the dead animal carcass' on the side of the road...ya know the same carcass' that make mineral oil and petroleum.

My experience with Arbonne:

I have been so impressed with the products. For years I've been trying every different vegan/natural line I could find for my dry skin. Nothing ever seemed to really hydrate my skin. Arbonne does. Since I've been using the products, my skin feels like satin. It's not just that it looks better, but it FEELS better to me. I'm not dry and itchy all the time anymore. My husband is a true skeptic, but now he won't be without the men's products and my daughter absolutely loves the new Sugar Slush Scrub, the Sea Salt Scrub, and the herbal foot cream (it's doing wonders for the dry patches on her elbows and knees.) My mother is using the Anti-Aging line and says her skin never felt better. Everyone who sees her comments on how great her skin looks now. Friend after friend is falling in love with the products.

As to the natural vs unnatural debate....

I know a woman who is a 2 time lymphoma survivor who diligent researches every since ingredient she puts on or in her body, and Arbonne is all she will use after checking out it thoroughly. She did go on to build a successful business with it after trying it for herself.

Yes, I ended up signing up as a consultant after getting such great results from the products so that I could get them at the 35% discount. The vegan certification is very important to me, and to get these kinds of results from a certified vegan product is like having Christmas all year long.

True, not every product or line is right for everyone, but I haven't encountered anyone yet who doesn't love Arbonne products once trying them. They do have a 45 day return policy so that if something isn't right for you it's not a risk to have tried it. They have a few different product lines so it's not all about anti-aging.

If you're really interest in trying it, ask the friend who told you about it to let you use some of the products for a few days so you can see for yourself if it's right for you. If you're not comfortable with asking your friends, go onto www.arbonne.com and search for a consultant in your area and ask them instead. Just try it for yourself. There are always going to be people for and against any line for various reasons but your own personal experience is the only way to tell if it's right for you.

All the best!

I believe you're refering to "high fructose corn syrup" which is a different thing from corn syrup in it's natural form. High fructose corn syrup is scarey and I agree that it should be avoided. Arbonne's chews have "corn syrup" not "high fructose corn syrup."

I like the protein shakes and the energy drink. I can't say I've lost any weight but they help me maintain. I'd recommend the chocolate shakes because the vanilla is tough to drink unless you mix it with berries. I didn't like the taste of the fiber drink but the chews are good. I love the Detox tea. I tried the Going, going Gone supplement but couldn't remember to take it 1/2 hour before eating so that didn't work for me. Good luck.

Hello everyone,
This post has made for quite interesting reading. Instead of the "Anybody trying Arbonne" post, it should be called the "Bashing Arbonne/pimping your mlm company" post. HeeHee, sorry, I couldn't resist. I am not going to bash Arbonne. As of 2 years ago, I had never even heard of Arbonne, and now they are everywhere. I have to give those reps credit, they have been working hard. I heard about them when my sister came home from a vacation in Utah (we live in MA) and said that a lady approached her while in Utah and said she would like to expand her Arbonne business in the Boston area and asked my sister if she would be interested in being a rep. Then my sister came home and asked me if I would be interested in doing that. I said "No, thank you." I love the products I use (I had been using my products for 5 years with great results at the time she asked). I told my sister if I could sell the products that I have been using & have loved for many years, then maybe I would think about it. Fast forward to one year ago......I got news that the products I was using is now upgraded and sold via an MLM format and they asked me if I wanted to join the company being that I was a long time customer. YIKES, I was scared but ready for a change in my life...so here I now am pimping my company too. Oh shameful me!
I am an independent consultant for a new company with a targeted skin care line (including mineral make up)and a nutritional line that is the cutting edge of science and nature with some great, respected co-founders heading our company. It is not for the O' Naturale people though...sorry. Our skin care line is nature based but we do add what science proves to be effective in improving the skin. Also, our website lists all ingredients...no hiding them and each product has a descriptive video explaining it by one of our celebrity co-founders. If you are curious, send me a messege. I would be happy to share with you. Thank you!

hmmm i came on here to learn about arbonne, bc I heard it WAS natural...disappointing to know it's not :( But to answer your question:

Actually microdermx is paraben and petrochemical free...very natural, they use plant based preservatives. Safe to eat, so they say. I was surprised to see the random comments about Microdermx above(?) but I just happen to use it so I thought I'd pipe in...it's a microdermabrasion treatment, and has helped my skin a LOT. But they don't have any cleansers, toners etc so i was checking out arbonne for that reason. I use Microdermx 2 times a week, it's helped my acne scarring and uneven skin tone...such mixed results it seems with arbonne...i want to know what natural line really works.

Arbonne International Cleansing Gel - 3rd ingredient listed is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. For those unfamiliar with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (or SLS), it is a common lathering agent found in many shampoos and body washes. It is also well-known in the scientific community as a common skin irritant. It is rapidly absorbed and retained in the eyes, brain, heart and liver, which may result in harmful long-term effects. For more on SLS check out 5 chemical to avoid.

Aromassentials Awaken Bath and Shower Gel - 2nd ingredient listed is Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. 12th ingredient is Methylparaben.

Arbonne International Facial Scrub - last ingredients listed are Methylparaben and Propylparaben. Parabens are used as inhibitors of microbial growth and to extend shelf life of products. Widely used even though they are known to be toxic. Parabens have caused many allergic reactions and skin rashes. Methylparaben combines benzoic acid with the methyl group of chemicals. Highly toxic.

Arbonne International Body Lotion - 12th ingredient is Propylparaben, last ingredients are Triethanolamine (a chemical with carcinogenic potential that may also irritate the skin and mucous membranes) and Methylparaben.

Aromassentials Awaken Body Lotion - last ingredients are Propylparaben and Methylparaben.

Mandarin Body whip - ingredients include Triethanolamine, Propylparaben and Methylparaben.

It is our opinion that the Arbonne products reviewed and other Arbonne cleansers and lotions not be ranked in the category of "pure, safe and natural".

I just used the Arbonne RE9 products twice and my face is swollen, red and has a rash. The rep said I was probably allergic to citric with this product is heavy with. She is going to get back with me after she talks to her boss. I hope I can return the stuff. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hello Lydia,
I used to sell Arbonne and I had people who had reactions, but never what you experienced. I am just writing to tell you that you have a 45 day money back guarantee so yes, you can return the product. Your consultant should be able to help you or you can call 1-800-arbonne and talk to a customer service rep. Good luck.

cosmetic purified mineral oil is not known to cause cancer. I don't think any mineral oil does. It is natural also. However many ingrediants such as the parabens and ammonium laurel sulfate are extremely toxic and found in Arbonne products.

methylparabens and ammonium laurel sulfate are just a few, common ingrediants in many products you but you shouldn't claim you are pure and botanically based when you aren't

I've been using Arbonne since Feb 2008. I use the RE9 products. I'm not sure if they are any better than the Olay Regenerist line, but I've continued using them since I purchased the products. the products are expensive, but here it is the end of May and I still have a little more than half the product in all my bottles.

I'm over 50. My skin has always had a natural glow and few wrinkles--smiles lines, but no wrinkles. I do like the night cream. After washing, toning and using the night cream my face looks so smooth.

Now does it work, I really can't say for sure. However, what I will say is that it apparently has made my face clearer especially since I now only use a tinted moisturizer, instead of the a regular foundation.

I am a consultant, but that's only so I can get the discount rate. I do not sell the product.

So anyone on here saying that Arbonne is not natural, get your facts straight. It is pure safe, and beneficial; trust me I have done my research. As a chemist, I believe that I know when there are chemicals in a product and as a matter of fact, there aren't. Mineral oil was mentioned in a comment above and there is no mineral oil in Arbonne! Get your eyes checked or a head examination. If the products did not work for you; ever think maybe you weren't using them properly? Arbonne is defenitely something special and if you aquired a rash or something, then maybe you should find out what else could cause it, because unless you are allergic to oranges and other natural ingrediants, the rash was not from Arbonne.

Hey, I have been using Arbonne for 4 months and I can tell you this stuff really works! Its awesome. It has turned my skin around. I really reccommend you get your hands on some of these products. I liked them so much I signed up to be a consultant, so that I could get the 35% discount. It was only $29.00 to sign up and you don't have to sell anything to get the discount and no one hassles you at all! If you don't have someone helping you get the products or helping you to sign up email me and I can help you. I can have it shipped to your address thru my account. Or we can get you your own account. Let me know if you want, but you should definatly be using them. I promise you will love it.

If you knew anything about why people use Arbonne its because it is one of the all natural botanically based beauty lines! Its even vegan approved. Check your sources before you discredit something. Everything in Arbonne comes from the earth. Your kids could eat the whole bottle and nothing would happen.

I got sucked into the whole Arbonne thing a few months back by my sister. Her skin looked great and usually we react to skin products the same way so I thought I would look good too.

I bought the whole anti-aging line with some special deal with a bunch of other free stuff. Total price - well over $500.

I was so excited to use this new line of stuff. I tried it and broke out with major acne especially on my forehead. I don't get acne. I never had it as a teenager and certainly not as an adult. The consultant told me to give it a few weeks and see what happened. I used it faithfully for three weeks -the entire line of products. The results = nothing but acne. I stopped using it for one week and my skin cleared up. Just to test I used the Arbonne stuff and broke out in acne again. Obviously this stuff is not for me.

It was before my 45 day return period so I phoned them for a return merchandise authorization and followed all their instructions to a tee while packaging my stuff for return. I insured the box and got a tracking number and sent it on it's way in early April.

I can see on the Canada Post website that they received my package on the 9th of April. When I called them a few weeks later to ask why my mastercard had not yet been credited they said they never received the box. Excuse me?? Canada Post has a delivery confirmation slip saying you DID get it. I had to fax the original receipt with the tracking number to Arbonne and was vaguely promised a credit on my Mastercard within 3-5 days.

Guess what? No refund. They are impossible to deal with. Money back guarantee - what a crock. They have my money and now they have my product too. I certainly could have sold the unused extra stuff I purchased and got some of my money back on Ebay.

I am considering hiring a lawyer to go after them as I have heard I am not the only person that has trouble with returns. Perhaps the threat of a class action lawsuit would motivate them to find my box of stuff and credit my card back?

I'm sorry to hear of your negative return experience with Arbonne--or any beauty company. Perhaps it is an issue of timing and you'll see the credit appear on your MasterCard statement within another week or so. However, assuming you've already gone "up the ranks" with the Arbonne Canada call center (ie, you've spoken with a supervisor, manager, director to escalate the level of your issue), if you still get nowhere, another avenue to try is the Direct Selling Association (DSA) in Canada, of which Arbonne Canada is a member. There is a Complaint Resolution section on their site, with a pdf of the Code of Ethics. You'd have to follow the site's guidelines for submitting a complaint. Of note, Stuart MacMillan (who heads up Arbonne Canada) is on the board of the DSA Canada. Other than that, as with any consumer dispute resolution, you can always start phoning Arbonne's Canada HQ (vs the call center you've probably been in touch with). Those are my suggestions--best of luck to you!

I think the arbonne products are over priced and science my butt. I will never understand why people don't use the natural things at our reach. You can use coarse salt, oatmeal or brown sugar as a scrub. Baking soda is a multi-purpose product from cleaning you to cleaning your fridge. These things are natural and cost a lot less than these so-called organic and botanically infused products. Also coconut oil is a good moisturiser or hair conditioner. Aloe Vera gel is a good moisturizer. There are things that are healthy for you a literally cost dimes. So wise up and save your money, make your own natural or organic products.

Sincerely,
Amy m.

I, too, have tried the Re9 system twice now, and cannot get past the first step without my face breaking out into a horrible rash where it feels like my face has been scalded. There has to be an ingredient in it that I am allergic to. The two different reps with whom I have spoken swear that there's no way I could be allergic because "nobody" has allergic reactions to this product. I'm here to tell you that YES THEY DO. I am living proof. I don't come here to bash the product because I know lots of people that use it and love it and their skin is beautiful. It's just not for everyone. I am just glad to reach a forum where other people have had the same reaction as I.

Tamara, I too, along with many friends, used and like Arbonne. However, I have to disagree with you about the sequence of user to seller. My friends who became sellers did so at a "cattle call" recruiting meeting. They were offered a business kit and samples of the line (to try for themselves and to hand out to friends) for a very low startup fee.

Consultants receive a deep discount on all products, thus bringing the product price down to a reasonable level for personal use. Plus, all of the free and bonus product available with one's FIRST consultant order......wow,even I was ready to sign up (didn't, however, because I have a direct sales business already). The specter of this first order experience is then how many of my friends were able to sign on others as consultants below them. And so on and so on. This would help explain why there are so many Arbonne sellers in the field (as referenced in earlier posts).

Most sign on for that first big kickback (I believe over $700 worth of product for just under $300), but do not remain active for long. In fact, Arbonne's consultant retention rate is very low compared to many other direct sale companies. Of all that signed on at the "call" last year (>10), only one is still involved with the company, and claims she has placed her last order.

Like your friends and family, I too would order through my friends (at a discount) because it benefited both me and them (allowing them to remain in good standing).

I found the number of steps very cumbersome. The cleanser, the serum, and the eye cream pumps all malfunctioned at some point, forcing me to open the bottles to use the remaining product. And, at least once per day all of the bottles would topple over like dominoes....the packaging could be redesigned. I ended up giving away my remaining product two months ago.

I agree with you that there is a noticeable change in one's skin appearance with Arbonne, especially if you don't have a multi-step routine in place. But I also agree with comments above....most quality product regimens will work if you stick with it.

Currently, I am using Patricia Wexler line from Bath and Body Works with similar (or better) results, and not as many steps.

The real secret to a good complexion and youthful skin is lots of water, a good sunscreen, and good overall health. No skin care system can do more for you.

Read your ingredient list there are plenty of chemicals . The worst they just identify as science ingredient. Know your product.

I hope you got your credit! I waited 6 weeks before I got a credit & it came to me in a check rather than on my card. It took 3 calls to Arbonne & finally demanding to speak to a supervisor did the trick!
