How will it be after surgery and riding in the car?

This may be a silly thing to worry about but I am thinking of doing my surgery about 1 1/2 hours away. I realize some of you probably have traveled further then that, so I was wondering how the ride home is. Has anyone ever stayed in a hotel for the night or is it better to be in your own home while your in pain.  Of course if you have gone out of state or the country you would stay somewhere, so I was just trying to figure out what would be best to do.  I drive myself crazy with all these what ifs...

Thank you, that is a great idea. I just found a PS closer to my home. He is actually one of the doctors on this website, so I have my first consultation on June 19. I then have two more I might look into.

Bring a pillow to hug in the car on the way home. It will help absorb the shock of any bumps in the road. Hopefully you will still have some post op pain medication in your body to get you home comfortably. Just be sure to fill your pain medication prescriptions before you surgery!
