How Soon After Smartlipo Were People Able to Start Exercising Again?

By d_sakura on 28 Sep 2011

I have Smartlipo scheduled in December. I'm 5'2" 112 lb, 50 yrs, fitness instructor and triathlete. High intensity cardio 2 hours per day. Great shape except for abd, hip and inner thigh fat deposits thanks to bad genes. I am going to go nuts without exercise. Anyone who is very physically active and had the procedure how quickly were you back to your "normal" activity? How soon can I at least do some power walking?

I was spinning three days post-op and hiking mountains 4 days later!! I think it helped with my healing. I"m doing great - felt very little pain -- go ahead and power walk and do more depending on how you feel. if you're athletic to begin with it's no problem. Those not as fit should at least power walk. Doctors advise moving around. I'm a firm believer in getting the blood flowing to help heal from the trauma. I'm super impressed with my results.

I had my inner and outer thighs done and workout 6x a week. I had to walk for first 3 weeks. I couldnt run as even with compression garment on, it still felt like my thighs were heavy and stretching with each stride. I certainly didn't want to mess up my post surgery results. I am same height and 41. Back to full runs at 2 1/2 months post.

I had smart lipo almost a year ago and after 3 days I was walkingonmy treadmill. I am a crossfit trainer and also very active. The sooner you get backon it the better your recovery
