After Juvederm Dissolves, Do Wrinkles Look Worse?

I am worried that after the HA disolves the wrinkle will the more noticeble than before treatment. I did not like the result ( the injector left noticible bumps)so I do not intend to inject anything again. I wonder if the filler makes the wrinkle more deep

Lines should go back to normal after Juvederm is absorbed

Facial wrinkles should not look worse after Juvederm is absorbed by the body.   In fact, fillers themselves may lead to long lasting improvements by stimulating collagen.  (Although we need more data to truly prove this.)  With time, your body removes the filler.  Also with time, your body continues to age.  If you feel your lines look worse, it may be due to gradual and normal continued aging of the face.  It is likely not due to the filler... more

Juvederm

You said the injector?? If the doctor did not have time for you as a patient to do the treatment, then go to some one who can give you the time and expertise. That is the problem with injectors, does not matter what education they have, They are not doctors Disolve your juvederm and you should not see any worsening of the wrinkles. See a plastic surgeon who can give you the time and be with you when you like the results and when you do not.

Wrinkles do not get worse after Juvederm

Don't worry, if you have the Juvederm dissolved it will not make the wrinkles worse than before injections.  Injections of HA's do not cause enough trauma to the skin to adversely affect a wrinkle for the worse.  I would like to encourage you to not give up on the product but rather find a better injector that is experienced in the area that you need injected.  Nodules can happen however with good injection skills it should not be the norm.  Plus there are... more

Fillers do not cause wrinkles to get worse

After hyaluronic acid fillers dissolve, the wrinkle or crease does not look worse than it did prior to the injection of the filler.  If you had visible lumps, this can either be avoided or improved by the physician.  If lumps are felt but not visible, some patients live with them because they provide augmenation or filling, but you should not have to live with a visible lumpy surface.

Wrinkles with Juvederm

Juvederm is a great product and when it dissolves it should leave you no worse than what you liked like before. As for lumps, these could have been massaged out just after treatment or during treatment.  Find an experienced injector.

No worse!

You will gradually return to your pre-injection state, but if you are lumpy, consider getting the Juvederm dissolved by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. That way, you will look normal faster. You will not see any of your own collagen improve the lines since you only did the procedure once. For that benefit, regular filler injections are needed.

When fillers disappear wrinkles return to their former appearance

When temporary fillers disappear wrinkles return to their former appearance.  Skin is not stretched out enough to permanently stretch them or make lines deeper.  If wrinkles are treated for many years however, a person may not notice his or her wrinkles getting deeper with age and they therefore may appear deeper if they stop using fillers completely.  They will always go back to what they would have been naturally, had no fillers ever been used.... more

Juvederm and Other Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Stimulate New Collagen Production

Hi, If anything, research has shown that hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, Preville Silk) stimulate collagen production in the area of injection.  Therefore when the Juvederm eventually dissolves, you should have a little more collagen in place, and your wrinkle should be a bit less deep. Good luck and be well. Dr. P
