Hi ladies - this is a repost of an older thread I found previously posted By prissy1 on 23 Mar 2011: I'm interested to know of any other african american women on this site who've already undergone their surgery and what was your healing process like? How is your incision looking and what scar care routine you used. Our skin is so different, I think this could be a help to those visiting the site looking for answers before their surgery.  If you haven't had your surgery but are scheduled, I'd like to hear from you as well.

I recently had a full tummy tuck on oct 4th and i went back to college the following week. my scar is pretty much healed just a little itchy, belly button looks great! i had two previous c-sections and had loose skin and stretch marks before the surgery.

by the way i only used pain meds for three days and when needed because the stitches holding the drainage bulbs hurt! dont know how to upload before and after pics so you can see?!

Hey JoBibbi! I had been watching the old thread on this subject and noticed there were no updates. So I reposted. I believe there are quite a few sista's on this site. I would love to see everyones before and after pics. I'm excited, 11 days to go!

@ klewis0906 how do you post pics? im 3 weeks post op and ive got tons of pics, almost one for everyday!

Oh and my recovery has been smooth sailing! dr says i heal really fast, but was very active in kickboxing, which i miss! i was released by my ps to go back to kickboxing next tues, which is 4 weeks post op, but hernia dr said to wait till my 6 week but i can ride a bike at for weeks. i had a very very small umbilical hernia that had to be fixed during surgery which my insurance covered.

on your review page there is a spot that says upload pictures. Then there is a button that says browse. Select the browse button and go to the file where your pictures are. Select the picture you want, scroll down to the box, then repeat until you have selected all your pics. Then hit the submit button. If you still don't get it.... send me your email and I'll send you some screenshots.

Hello sisters , glad to see theres a few of us here.I'm schedule 11-17 for TT. Went to my primary and did pre op blood work today. I asked for a EkG which was okay but know since I am being sedated she wants me to have a echo and will see a cardiologist. I just want to cover all my bases because it is a big surgery. I had a bout with vertigo a while back so I'm hoping with the sedation and anesthesia it doesn't make me sick. My last son was a c section and I didn't see him until the next day bc I was throwing up and sick. Wishing u ladies all the best and hopefully I can load these pict from my iPad.

@ rocky332006 make sure you tell the doc you get very nauseated after surgeries....i had the same problem with my c-sections! they can accommodate you for that, but you have to tell them! :-) Wasn't nauseated at all after my surgery!

My doctor gave me a prescription for an anti nausea medication. I'm supposed to take it 3hrs before my surgery.

They gave me Valium to take before the surgery...was very calming medicine, its also used for muscle spasms afterward! My pics are being posted on my review taking forever to upload! maybe because there is so many...got more to add including today's pics of my scar and belly button up close!Seem to be healing very well...in my pics before you cant see my c-section scar at all. hard to see unless u tell someone to look at it upclose

Oh... that's how i had to do it, it took forever, but its finally done!!! Hope the pics give you some type of hope when it comes to the scars and healing process :-)

its funny you said that. I was just on utube looking at scars. Probably shouldn't have done that!
