Any advise that the doctors dont tell you about?

Surgery date : April 8. I have my pre surgery appointment on 3/23. Any advise out there that the doctors tend to not give. How long were the drains in for people out there? It seems to range 1-2 weeks but my doctor said up to 6. A little confusing on that one.

Ooh, drains for 6 weeks would be a real drag. It must be a worst case scenario. I've never heard of them being in that long.
