I am currently 18 days PO, after having an anchor tummy tuck done. I had a VSG in 2011, and as a result lost over 100lbs. The PS was able to remove 11.5 lbs of excess skin and fat, so I am thrilled with that. My plastic surgery was done in MX, which was an amazing experience, but now that I'm back home in canada, I'm having some complications.Last week, I noticed that my compression garment was becoming very, very tight in my shoulders. When I took it off to shower, my abdomen seemed to pop right out! I touched the skin and noticed right away that it was sloshing around like a waterbed.I contacted my PS and family doc, both who advised me to go to ER, as it is most likely a seroma and would need drainage. At the hospital, the ER doc looked things over, said it was a seroma, leave it be and it will go away on its own....and proceeded to "gently" lecture me as to why it is such a bad thing to go to MX and have surgery, there is no continuity of care, blah, blah, blah.My family doc arranged an ultrasound for me. Sure enough, there was a large fluid collection, measuring 35cm long by 4cm deep. A seroma. Which I have affectionately named Mustang Sally. The next day, it was arranged for me to have it aspirated under u/s guidance. 440cc was extracted. I felt so much better!!!Well, over the past few days, ole Mustang Sally has returned. My abdomen is back to its waterbed state. My compression garment isn't digging in to my shoulders yet, but I can tell that there's a significant buildup again. My PS has been good about staying in contact with my family doc, and I'm currently on a 2 week regimen of lasix as well, but I haven't noticed that I'm peeing like crazy or anything. The PS said that given the amount of flesh that was removed, a seroma is normal, keep resting, keep using the lasix, but I am really concerned that it won't resolve on its own, that it'll form a capsule and that I'll require another surgery to carve out the capsule, or something ridiculous.Has anyone else out there experienced this? What was your outcome? Time heals all things or suck that evil Mustang Sally out???????Thanks in advance!P.S. I'm attaching a photo of pre first drainage...
